  1. Here's the fact sheet options for the Rapter mowers: https://www.raptertool.com/17550625/rap-b04sl?fbclid=IwAR0Ku_2C320jKj9JVbffmrvL0yZFWYBgZmGKkYbBlVedQ6uQOuPfhU2dn6k https://www.raptertool.com/17550616/รถตัดหญ้าสี่ล้อเข็นและนั่งขับ
  2. My next lawnmower is coming from these guys: https://www.vbengine.com/index.php?lay=show&ac=article&Id=2147546091 They are the sole importers of Briggs and Straton engines in Thailand and sell rapter (not raptor) mowers with either Honda of B&S, their pricing is very reasonable 15k-19k. I don't know if their Honda engines are genuine or not, I'm inclined to think they are.
  3. Another thread on this subject below, you may get some hints:
  4. Assuming the money was earned legally and there was no tax avoidance involved, documenting in advance the history of where the funds were earned and when may be useful. I found myself in a not dissimilar situation years ago after working in Hong Kong and elsewhere overseas, I settled in Thailand but left most of my funds onshore in the UK initially. At some point, new "know your customer" rules were introduced by banks who targeted people such as me and asked them to account for their wealth. It took me a while to put together a credible earnings history and to remember what funds came from what sources when. Ultimately, my explanation was accepted by the bank and the problem passed but it took me a while recall an accurate earnings map. You may wish to do similar, in advance.
  5. Five consecutive posts by the same poster, all on the same subject, three to the same poster. Isn't forgetfulness a key sign of dementia or what?
  6. There's several good quality furniture factories in Samkampeng where their warehouses are the size of a football pitch or two! If you can't find what you want already made there, I'll be shocked.
  7. "they just take any simple brained bumkin into the force if they can pay the joining fee". So you agree with that posters statement then? Well you might, until you get into a spot of difficulty and start crying for the police to come and help and protect you, then you sing a different tune. Of course there are some poor quality cops out there but there are plenty of very good ones also. Calling them all bumkins is inappropriate, inaccurate and unhelpful, it just provides further evidence that some foreigners don't know, don't understand and don't think..
  8. You have a lot to learn, about Thailand and about these discussions.
  9. Apparently you are. A plain clothes policeman shot at the wheels of a car which escaped. On the basis of that statement alone, posters claim that every Thai cop is a bumpkin and they must be paid to join the force. You have none of the details but are overly keen to bash any Thai cop....except when you need them, then it's a different story of course. Thai bashing on this forum is rampant, loads of generalizations but with hardly any underlying substance or fact.
  10. This is Thailand, the discussion is about Thailand, not the USA!
  11. Another wholly unnecessary comment that bashes all Thai's, if you feel that way, why are you here!
  12. A wholly unnecessary comment based on zero first hand knowledge.
  13. Yes, well, I guess everyone has territories I suppose, not surprising really.
  14. Places like HomePro provide installation and repair services, as long as you buy the materials/appliance from them. They will install/replace water pumps etc, air con and other things, they also undertake project work. Not the cheapest but it does come guaranteed. I've used them to insulate my roof void, install pumps and also air con.
  15. "He has espoused conspiracy theories on social media, including about the 2020 presidential election, the January 6 Capitol attack and Covid-19, according to US media". https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2022/10/28/nancy-pelosi-man-who-attacked-democrat-speakers-husband-hammer/ According to another unlinked article, the assailant was also being treated for long term substance abuse.
  16. Your explanation is incorrect. "An optometrist is an eye doctor that can examine, diagnose, and treat your eyes. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who can perform medical and surgical interventions for eye conditions. An optician is a professional who can help fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision-correcting devices". In Thailand, ophthalmologists work ONLY in hospitals. In Thailand, there is a chronic shortage of optometrists, it is known as the missing profession....a few years ago there was fewer than ten in the entire country. Opticians of differing quality are in abundance. When you visit an eye glasses shop you will be seen by an optician who may or may not have any training but is not required to licensed.
  17. Originally American, started by a Swede in 1948, now Canadian, Thai franchise owned by Minor Group (Thai).

  19. A man of high standards I see, I'm surprised you don't aspire to Svensons.!
  20. A much more acceptable version of events and infinitely more probable. We have several long standing friends who live in Pattaya, they are normal middle class Thai's who completely disregard the sole thing that so many foreigners seem fixated about, I suppose it's all about your line of vision and what you see most of in the course of your day.
  21. Hmm, you might consider moving in different circles then, you know, up your game a tad perhaps. I know not many foreigners know this but Pattaya goes way back beyond Beach and Second Road, there's much more to it than just that two streets. And if you've not been back since the 00's you'll be pleasantly surprised, it's a different place entirely, not that I would ever go there mind you but others seem to like it..
  22. You really think that all the women in Pattaya are hookers and that the OP will need to go to Bangkok to find one who is not....seriously, I mean seriously!
  23. Order a SIM from GiffGaff, they'll mail it to you here.
  24. It is virtually impossible for foreigners' to become permanent residents of Thailand, the allocation is something like less than 100 per year are allowed but in practice the number is far lower. I've been here for over 20 years, on a retirement visa, does that make me a permanent resident? Not in the yes of the law it doesn't. As for getting a pink residents card, my Amphur wont even give me a yellow tabien bahn, they just don't like to give them out, even though they are required by law to do so.
