  1. There's only one 4WD on that link, 1.259 mill and the mileage isn't stated. Farang owned vehicles generally go at a premium is one owner, because they are usually serviced regularly - do you have the FSH? I'll be surprised if not over 1 mill,
  2. 2019, easily north of 1 mill. My Vigo 4 door is 2013 and has 140k on the clock yet it's still sells for 400k or 40% of purchase price.
  3. So it was you was it. Stay right where you are, I'm sending the boys round. ????
  4. Yes I agree with most of those reasons. But it doesn't change the fact that when Thailand finally decided to buy vaccines from overseas, Sinovac from China was the only realistic option available to them. This is because they had waited so long to place an order and the alternatives such as Pfizer would have meant waiting even longer.
  5. Very few people have a clear definition of what constitutes timing the market. There is a huge difference between selling assets in the expectation that markets will fall, in the hope of buying them back when it rises, and, changes in strategy based on economic data, to reduce risk. Selling high risk equities because the yield curve has inverted and rampant inflation is almost certain to follow, is not timing the market. Switching out of high risk assets at such times and buying into low risk or wealth protection funds is also not market timing. Both those actions represent prudent risk aversion. Selling assets in light of a market downturn, in the hope of repurchasing them later, is market timing and is foolish. The determinator is not whether a loss has been crystalized whilst making the trade but in the motive.for making it in the first place. This is an important distinction to understand because many people fear doing anything when markets head South and often that's the wrong thing to do.
  6. The calculations is deaths as a percentage of cases, not of the population! And, The number of deaths being reported is not at all reliable. "The counting method does not correspond with WHO guidance, and results in a figure that is way below the death toll in many other countries". https://www.bbc.com/news/59882774
  7. That's 9,000 per day, not in total. Italy's death toll was under 1,000 per day at the peak. Regardless, the likelihood that the true death rates are being reported by the Chinese government are remote to say the least. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/
  8. That's a different twist from your previous posts on this subject. I conclude you've been called out for baiting and have tried to save face by tweaking your narrative. You have no integrity and firmly belong on my ignore list (and everyone else's too, from hereon). Goodbye.
  9. I'm age 73 years and find your trivialising the risks to my health very juvenile, more so your continual attempts at baiting those at risk.....take up a hobby, a new one.
  10. That's only useful if you know where the bottom is, do you know where bottom is?
  11. The WHO and the rest of the world disagrees. https://www.who.int/news-room/feature-stories/detail/the-sinovac-covid-19-vaccine-what-you-need-to-know https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2022/04/19/how-chinas-sinovac-compares-with-biontechs-mrna-vaccine
  12. It wasn't me but I imagine it was somebody who said that the average yearly return on the S&P since 1957 was 11.88%, when adjusted for inflation the return is 8.5%.
  13. Pattaya (Thai: เมืองพัทยา, RTGS: Mueang Phatthaya) is a self-governing municipal area which covers Tambon's Nong Prue and Na Klua and parts of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattaya
  14. You're smart enough to realise that economists aren't expected to factor exceptional, once in a life time events/vicennial events, into any financial model.
  15. Expeditors, who perform an outstanding voluntary service to aid the overstretched, overworked and much loved immi. staff. Sort of like a Thai Meals on Wheels service but with passports.
  16. That's stretching things a little, even for here.
  17. A planeload or two...are you trolling me boy! Given the Chinese New Year holiday at the end of January, combined with the population of China having been prevented from travel for so long, current estimates are that 500,000 Chinese will visit Thailand by end January 2023 and between 3 and 5 million will visit throughout the year.
  18. There is no reason to add to the list and make it even longer when medical science is actively working to do the opposite. That is especially true when the biggest risk for that already at risk group is the selfishness of others.
  19. Whereas I think it's time for people to be a little less dismissive and lot more considerate and caring about those who are over 70 years old, are sick, have compromised immune systems and who are at very real risk of dying from covid, unless they are very careful.
  20. I don't understand what the OP's talking about, recipe's, 27 year olds, 300 baht, frankly it all sounds dodgy.
  21. Sinovac vaccines from China were the only game in town in February 2021 at a time when no other vaccines were available in Thailand. It wasn't great but there is no question it saved some lives, let's not knock Chinese covid vaccines too harshly.
  22. If you've never been to Pattaya or Bangkok you're missing out on a whole bunch of must see/must do experiences and limiting yourself unnecessarily. Just because Pattaya has an excess of streetwalkers and beer bars, doesn't mean to say the whole place is the same. There are some excellent hotels, restaurants, shopping and beaches in and around Pattaya, you're missing out if you don't experience them. Even more so in Bangkok which is truly a unique city, why anyone would avoid visiting, just because of its reputation in a very small number of areas, is beyond me. I lived in Phuket for four years and I don't think think Phuket is representative of Thailand, only of the South and only in some ways. If you think that Phuket is representative of Thailand, you will have a very distorted and inaccurate view of the country.
  23. Pattaya is more accessible for us, it's an easy drive to get there. And there are some nice quiet and beautiful beaches if you know where they are (forgive me but I'm certainly not going to share that information). Pattaya is twice a year getaway for us, Phuket is likely to be an every two years trip, because it's more difficult to get to plus it's more expensive. Which is why I prefer Hua Hin and the surrounding area because it's a good middle ground choice in every respect.
