Well as many posters said it is about security, I moved back to my home country after living in Thailand for a number of years, being an OAP I get free medical care, free hospital, cheap medication a good pension, subsidised rent, electricity, free bus or train rides, no need for me to do all the reports to the immigration, I never regret I moved back.

So guys, most of you are American or British but I am not as you know I am from OZ but just a question to you guys, if you relay on a pension from your country, can you apply for a loan from your pension provider (in my case Centrelink) I can apply for a loan and pay no interest at all just get my pension reduced to a certain level, My monthly payments get reduced to the amount and time I applied for the money< So I all like to know is can you do this in your country or even in Thailand

  18. Not that easy just read a report about 9 months old baby who was infected with a live threatening disease in Bali and could not get any help in Bali and had to be flown to Australia so in that case I support public donations
  19. I have to add most of them are not really poor but cannot afford the rent. The average rent in Perth is $565 per week, saying that, I am quite lucky I just pay $240 per week and had no rent increase for 7 years and I live on a pension.
