  1. Didn't need a hand-drawn map either (did requirement extension at CW in February), I just provided a print out of Google Maps.
  2. Check in the True iService App if you have a "subscription" active. That was the reason my account credit was slowly drained (of course I never subscribed...).
  3. Yes, back home in Europe I also use contactless debit card payment all the time. But for that the vendor needs a terminal and to pay the fees to the credit card companies. That's why instead the QR code payment is used in Thailand (and many other countries): The shop just needs to print the QR code and have a smartphone. So any small shop can use it.
  4. The 2.2% decline was for 2023, so I guess 2023 compared to 2022. Projection for 2024 is higher and predicts an increase in production, yes.
  5. The article compares year-on-year numbers, so they look at only 1 month: February this year vs February 2023.
  6. No surprise if the majority of local production is Japanese companies with their old fashioned cars. Should have started earlier with EV production, not wait till the Chinese are here with their shiny modern cars. But anyhow the Chinese are already investing in EV production in Thailand, so the numbers will soon look better. If the Japanese don't get going, well, their loss...
  7. I'm wondering why should "leaving" Thailand have anything to do with re-entry permits? Those are only relevant when you "enter" Thailand. You don't need a re-entry permit to leave, though you might regret that if it wasn't your intention to invalidate your current extension of stay ;) Do Officers at Exit check it as a courtesy?
  8. The generals and Thaksin made a deal. They stay in power, he can return, and MFP is kept out. Simple and everyone can understand. The rest (ill, hospital, yadayada) is just a charade (keeping face?).
  9. Uh, I can see no official statement on the page except "Please ask Immigration Bureau". Where on TAT page did you see the info?
  10. According to the article: "the woman, known to fear loud noises since childhood". That might explain why she didn't call police or security. She panicked (possibly traumatized by childhood experiences) and instinctively tried to flee. And it was late in the day so probably already sleeping when the pounding and shouting started.
  11. Yeah, but in exchange we got air pollution season 1 month earlier this year. 😁
  12. I understand that pollution travels across borders, but not hotspots? And Malaysia and Vietnam are in totally opposite wind directions. One is south of Thailand, the other is north and east...
  13. What are Malaysia and Vietnam doing differently? Since their hotspot numbers are so low (and it's satellite data, so probably reliable), and the two countries are different in economic development status and political systems....
  14. The TM30 was done a little more than 3 months ago, before I did the conversion to non O.
  15. You need to show TM30 (plus rental contract etc.) when you apply for conversion into non O.
  16. I was at CW today for my first Non O extension and, yes, can confirm the IO definitely wanted a copy of the rental contract and was carefully checking it. Also copy of landlord ID. Others at CW told me they were also asked to show house registration and title deed (reason given was the recent fraud re Chinese visas), but my IO didn't ask for that.
  17. You said you are worried about the Wise transfers showing up as local. A credit advice of the transaction shows that the money was transferred from abroad. I would get that from the bank (in addition to printouts of the Wise-PDFs), if I want to be prepared for the eventuality of immigration office being picky. On the other hand maybe the IO won't care about it, and as other posters said you will have no problem anyhow. Up to you ????
  18. I'd say you need to get the replacement passport from your embassy? So you need to ask them what paperwork they need.
  19. Best be prepared and get the "Credit Advice" for the transactions.
  20. They have everything already since I took all with me to the application at CW not even 2 weeks ago, of course including TM30 and lease contract and ID of the owner and so on. But when the 2 officers visited they asked for and checked and photographed all the documents again. So maybe it's supposed to be cross-checking on the IO at CW, that they did everything correctly? Also they took a photo of me holding the passport and the bankbook with the 800k amount clearly shown, which was very important for them: that the 800k is visible. Since at first apparently one of my fingers was in the way, so they told me to move it and took another photo. I don't know how the agents who promise you don't need the 800k, do it, but I guess they don't supply you with a passbook in your name and 800k on it ???? So the immigration officers would then see there's a discrepancy.
  21. I should probably have clearly put into the subject line that this visit was for "first time Non-Imm O", (even though I mentioned it in the text), during the 14+ day waiting period until visa is issued. Before my visa application I read the threads here, and got the impression that these home visits happen for long term stays. That it is a standard procedure for newbie first time applicants was a surprise to me, so my post was also meant as a heads up for those. Be prepared to stay in Bangkok for the 14+ days your application is processed, if this check is now a requirement. Of course I don't know if the "personal house check" is really a requirement and no trouble if you're somewhere away at a beach and they can't check on you. And yes, Bangkok Immigration at CW. As Tod said a few posts before, this is apparently standard procedure for them.
  22. Nope, I can't even have a one year bank statement since I only opened the account a few weeks ago. This is for a new application for conversion from visa exempt entry to non-Imm O (using the 800k in bank method.
  23. That's also what I read before, that listing as FTT is enough (my account is at Bangkok Bank). But when I went to apply for the Non-Imm O (first time application, 800k in bank) at Bangkok Immigration 10 days ago they told me I need to bring the "credit advice". It was easy to get it from Bangkok Bank (but not all employees/branches can do the printout), just be prepared.
  24. Make sure you get the "credit advice" for proof that the money came from abroad. I used Wise and the transfer showed up as FTT in my passbook, but Bangkok immigration office said the FTT is not enough (also Wise PDF was not accepted) and I need to bring the credit advice for the foreign money transfer.
