  1. seriously? a bit dramatic the terminology, no?
  2. I would disrecommend canola oil. But I don't have the energy to debate everything.
  3. a lot of kids dont understand anything about life. i know a guy who worked his butt off to provide a good life for his family and his teenage daughter is lippy. they're too young to appreciate it because they've haven't worked hard for 20 years.
  4. why now? there weren't enough upper middle class consumers before in thailand? this is beautiful furniture, but not cheap. a lot of folks settle for mass market melamine.
  5. As Hummin said, Thailand is a good place. It's a decent well-functioning society. Unless you are truly living in a country that is collapsing and falling apart, you don't need to follow the political bs regularly. There is no 1:1 correlation with what you are seeing on the daily news and how it affects your daily life. 95% of the daily news doesn't affect your life. All it does is make you angry and cynical and bitter. There was a guy from Italy who moved to Thailand and he had a blog. He said everyone in Italy is miserable and always complaining. And he admitted that it was because they follow the daily news and the politicians bickering. He said tourists love Italy though. Does it make sense that a tourist enjoys the country but the locals are miserable? Don't get sucked in by the circus act of daily politics.
  6. that's impressive. also, how did you pull it off? it usually takes a lot of money and time to get re-training.
  7. I read that magnesium regulates 200 functions in the body. Maybe one of the most important nutrients. I believe the claims that a lot of the olive oils are tainted with cheaper oils. So I stopped consuming it.
  8. these guys are originally from a village in thailand
  9. what else? for resistance training, I will start doing bodyweight squats at some point. without weights, it's much safer and less risk of injury, especially for older folks. and you can do as many reps you need until fatigue. again, i'm preaching to myself here. and always putting it off because it's hard work.
  10. someone dying at 10 months old is something that cannot be explained by normal logic. it's beyond the scope of this thread. human beings generally are not supposed to die at 50 ... that's well below the normal life span. could be genetic issues, i suppose. I read by 2050 that 1 in 10 people will live to 100? not sure.
  11. I got lazy with exercise and put on some weight. My pants are too tight. That's where I'm at. Also, the weight gain may be due to switching off keto and introducing a fair amount of fruit in the diet. So now I'm switching back to more keto-ish, with a bit of fruit but less than before. Fruit is high in carbs and I learned that if I need to burn them off. Watch that video I linked above. That guy does these freaky stretching exercise movements ... stretching + primal movements. I think this guy is a genius and I would like to try those at some point, but i'm not there yet. Still far away from my ideal exercise routine. Not a fan of jogging/running. Low intensity cardio is better. + Maybe some tennis once or twice a week. But I'm not anywhere near my ideal.
  12. I think healthy fats like those found in cheese are needed by the body. I wonder if they even help prevent cognitive decline. It's the bad fats you need to limit - all cooking oils used in restaurants etc. I might start a thread on FATS one day.
  13. 10 months old is the only aberration. all others are advanced ages. 50 is not an advanced age, unless you smoke or do sth really bad for the body.
  14. there was an article once that ping pong helps fight off dementia ... because of quick movements? not sure if its true. this guy is doing incredible things with his body
  15. bourdain had a lot of charm, to be sure. this guy ... he does do a fair bit of research, the history. etc ..
  16. not at 50. that's an aberration and you are probably doing sth really wrong with your body.
  17. if your kids hate you, can you blame anyone but yourself? or do you want to blame "society" for that too?
  18. Shouldn't the school you are applying to be able to provide this information? I believe if you are applying from your home country, you need to get your diploma authenticated by the consulate.
  19. try this one
  20. bourdain? suicide, no?
  21. save the frogs posted a topic in Thai Food
