His title of "Vice Admiral" seems strangely apposite.

Doesn't that rather depend upon whether all the wheels don't fall off, and whether the track doesn't plummet to the ground, and whether anyone is brave/foolhardy enough to travel on it? No service, or no passengers equals no fare collection.

Funny, then that the Rugby Football Union fined him £25,000 and removed him from its elite player squad because they believed he had thrown a dwarf.

In Thailand short term Airbnb rentals are illegal. There could be a crackdown, or you could be dobbed in to the police by a disgruntled neighbour. Is it work the risk?

Blackrock has exited the US markets entirely
Do you have any evidence for that? The only statements I could find were along the lines of:
"BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, is reallocating assets out of the US economy in preparation for a looming recession and corporate debt bubble, as warned by other investors as well.""Blackrock plans to move a significant portion of their portfolio out of the US and into emerging markets due to concerns about the corporate debt bubble, rising interest rates, and the potential for a looming recession."
In other words, a partial exit, not "entirely". -

Does anyone have any further info on the shuttle bus? Thanks!
What he said. For example, where exactly does it leave from (both going to Immigration and returning)? How much does it cost? How frequent is it?
Thanks. -

The high end places buy their seafood from the largest fish market in the world, Tokyo's famous Tsukuji Fish Market.
I do hope they don't. It closed in 2018, so the fish would be pretty ancient by now.
They now buy from its replacement, Toyosu Market.
Incidentally, and I don't think this has been mentioned before, but the freezing for the top quality fish is done using liquid nitrogen best to preserve the fish texture, taste and aroma.

The first time I took doxazosin my blood pressure dropped dramatically (diastolic to around 40). I couldn't stand up and, to be honest, thought I might die. The symptoms passed in a couple of hours. When I took it the next day I had no side effects whatsoever. I guess the body adapts pretty quickly.
Incidentally, you should never cut prolonged or extended release tablets. They are coated so that the drug is released slowly. By cutting the tablet you break the coating, so the drug comes out rapidly.
You can save a lot of money by buying a local version (albeit not extended release). For example, Pencor 2 mg works out as 2.5 baht/tablet.- 2

There's no such thing as "investing in commodities" - only speculation (a.k.a. gambling).
With actual investments there is an income stream that can be discounted to NPV to provide a valuation for the investment. For commodities the price is based upon what one thinks (hopes, dreams) someone might pay for the commodity in the future.

Good news, when it's complete I might go have a look at Ayutthaya..
It's totally unclear whether this refers to the historical town of Ayutthaya or to the industrial district of Bang Pa-in, which just happens to be within the province of Ayutthaya. I strongly suspect it's the latter.

a simple, easy way to achieve the same result within Windows
No it's not. KillDisk repeatedly writes over a disk, making data recovery impossible. DiskPark simpy reformats the drive - the data remain largely recoverable.

purchasing US stocks
Do be aware that if you're not a US citizen there's a 40% death tax on US stocks after the first US$ 60,000. It's generally better to buy non-US mutual funds and non-US ETFs which invest in the US.

There is an underground money transfer service. I know it operates in London and agents go around Thai businesses on a weekly basis and take cash that appears within hours on their Thai bank accounts at close to the exchange rate. It is widely used as to how it works god only knows.
I'm guessing that's hawala, and that should be "how it works Allah only knows". You do have to get the end of your penis chopped off before you can use it, though.

If an German national resident in Thailand holds UK listed equities in a US brokerage account, which DTA is applicable to the dividend income? Germany-Thailand, UK-Thailand or US-Thailand?

Both are available without prescription from Diamond Pharmacy in Bangkok. Pulse Clinic can provide Rybelsus (don't know about Ozempic) but Diamond is cheaper. Samitivej doesn't have Ozempic, but does have Rybelsus but, as you'd expect it's rather expensive - 445 baht/tablet for 7 mg. (Diamond is 283/tablet.)
The above information is as of July this year.

"...wonder how many Thai barbers and hairdressers are highly experienced in cutting Negro hair".
Why would that be much of an issue in Thailand?
Because there are lots of Negros who hang around the lower sois of Sukhumwit Road and elsewhere. They need to get their hair done, and I very much doubt that Thai hairdressers are familiar with corn rows and virgin relaxers. There's a clear need for foreign hair stylists.

UK Visitor Visa for someone technically unemployed
in Visas and migration to other countries
Posted
My partner of 20 years (Thai) and I (British) want to visit the UK following the completion of his Ph.D. in a few weeks' time - touring Scotland and visiting my old friends. It's intended as a reward for the years of hard work he's put in on his research and dissertation. However, technically (well, and actually) he'll be unemployed. The plan is that he'll start looking for employment as a university lecturer after the visit. Is it going to be a non-starter applying for a UK Visitor Visa and just a waste of time and money? Or is there a realistic chance of one being granted?
Other information: he owns the house we live in, he has plenty of savings to support himself during the trip, though I'll be paying for all flights and accommodation, and we've made one similar visit a few years ago when he was working and before starting his Ph.D..
Any thoughts? Advice?
Thanks.
