  1. Seems Ikea leg won't do its 70cm which is far too low. Where can I get a 74cm leg?
  2. Thinking rather than buy a standard 150cm wide x 60cm depth x 75cm height desk, by desk I mean basically a practical table for computer and few LCD monitors - no silly slide out keyboard tray and all the other <deleted> that gets in the way of ergonomics, maybe it's within my limited DIY skill to build one. Comparison would be https://www.homepro.co.th/p/1160950 Thinking https://www.thaiwatsadu.com/th/product/ไม้บอร์ดยางพาราประสาน-BOON-WOOD-รุ่น-เกรด-CC-ขนาด-122-x-244-x-14-ซม-สีธรรมชาติ-60319527?aglquery=ec71b3d3f653559a8551f7f313c8c68a Is this the right wood? Wall is about 2.2m wide would want it flush again both ends of the wall - no door in the way or things sticking out - why not? I want a bit more depth than the normal 60cm desk. So thinking 75cm depth. So 2.2m x 75m Cut it size. https://www.homepro.co.th/p/117962 How to cut straight? Or would thai watsadu cut it down the middle at 75cm if asked ? 6 legs - I would place the middle legs about 130cm so it would be leg <-130cm -> leg < - 90 cm > leg https://www.ikea.com/th/en/p/adils-leg-black-00217976/#content Is this practical - even with the tool it costs almost same as buying a desk? How to ensure its flush against the back wall and sides? Do I leave a gap for expansion of wood? Is there a way to hide this gap? Do I need to mount to the wall? Is this practical? For bonus points name three ways a person with near zero DIY skills could mess this up Thanks in advance for any constructive input.
  3. Nope, sorry, order a few and see if it's practical, its probably same stuff you get from Watsons or Boots or whatever, just a different box or plastic sleeve, no doubt all from same cluster of factories on the mainland.
  4. Homepro sell them https://www.homepro.co.th/c/TOO020106?hw_feature34=N95&pmin=&pmax=&cst=0&q=Masks&page=1&s=12&size=100#plist 35baht If you wait a little while, you'll find the scene will be flooded with more choice and reduced pricing due to glut of supply in south east asia, Singapore dropped their final masking mandates mainly public transport a few weeks ago, and Hong Kong did yesterday for indoors/outdoors (still for transport I think), if Hong Kongers drop the mask in general as quickly as Singaporeans did on transport there will be an abundance of supply in the market very soon and no doubt they'll end being sold off here in Thailand.. Japan the only other place with high demand until the 8th May but they are very fussy about using locally sourced and certified masks.
  5. Some of those Diebold machines are awful, many more than a decade old, and by the time you realize you've got an old unreliable one running slow as molasse - it's hit and miss if you'll get your card back within your lifetime. Bangkok bank are especially bad for keeping old ones in service, that one looks rather new though. Won't be hard for the bank to find the last user, a few faxes here and there, and telegram to Diebold in the states for some assistance they'll be on it within a decade. Might of been a skimmer on it, or suspected skimmer, in which case maybe he or she just panicked
  6. Is the pollution in Samrong within 1km of BTS any worse than rest of Sukhumvit road - in direction back to the city? The large canal you see from the BTS walkway looks pretty industrial to the point I didn't see any small boats or even a walkway running parallel as far as I could look, I was quite surprised how wide it was too. I don't expect it to be clean, few waterways are in any city are, but reports like https://greenpeace.to/publications/ChaoPhraya_canals_textilefacilities.pdf concern me in view of moving to accommodation in Samrong. Would one be concerned staying a 100-200metres from the canal edge on either of the two roads running parallel from Samrong BTS down to Srinakarin - for clarity thats Thepharak Road and sukhumvit 113? I just don't know how to weigh this up... Mains and drainage water is pumped in from somewhere other than the canal in any accommodation right so that's mute? Is soil contamination a thing unless you're rolling around in the dirt at the canal edge? There was a large factory explosion the other year back, or possibly two, are current residents still concerned about industrial growth in the more general Samut Pakarn area, are regulations and enforcement of such getting better? I kind of suspect the answer is along the lines of no worse than anywhere else in Bangkok but wanted to check. Thanks
