  1. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) holds public hearings in the advisory proceedings on the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, holds public hearings on the request for an advisory opinion on the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, from 19 to 26 February 2024, at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the Court. Session held under the presidency of Judge Nawaf Salam, President of the Court. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1g/k1ggyabo49
  2. Laugh all you like, you did post a link and a screenshot but you only highlight what you want, would you like me to apologise for pointing out your cherry picking, or what?
  3. More cherry picking. So you ignore this part: and urged the parties to refrain from depriving the civilians of life saving services and humanitarian assistance. Topic noted.
  4. Yet more cherry picking, you highlight the part about hostages and ignore the whole text, which says in full: Further to the text, the Council called for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and other groups, especially children, and urged the parties to refrain from depriving the civilians of life saving services and humanitarian assistance.
  5. My links are for the Official Documents. Still Cherry picking again, and your link also said at the end: For information media. Not an official record.
  6. Found these 2 resolutions for you, both mention the unconditional release of hostages do you just want to cherry pick that part and ignore the rest? 15thNovember2023 https://documents.un.org/doc/undoc/gen/n23/359/02/pdf/n2335902.pdf?token=33sNgqVQR7hjSMlrlw&fe=true 21stDecember2023 https://documents.un.org/doc/undoc/gen/n23/424/87/pdf/n2342487.pdf?token=QeeDvwXvvy2lxva6gO&fe=true
  7. What the ICJ actually said: The Court deems it necessary to emphasize that all parties to the conflict in the Gaza Strip are bound by international humanitarian law. It is gravely concerned about the fate of the hostages abducted during the attack in Israel on 7 October 2023 and held since then by Hamas and other armed groups, and calls for their immediate and unconditional release. It then went on to say: The State of Israel shall, in accordance with its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, in relation to Palestinians in Gaza, take all measures within its power to prevent the commission of all acts within the scope of Article II of this Convention, in particular: (a) killing members of the group; (b) causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; and (d) imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; It then said: The State of Israel shall ensure with immediate effect that its military does not commit any acts described in point 1 above; All the above taken from the ICJ Website: https://www.icj-cij.org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20240126-ord-01-00-en.pdf So, dear Brian, what comes first the Chicken or the Egg?
  8. Love to see the hostages released, very easy to do for Israel, a full ceasefire and proper negotiations for a Palestinian State.
  9. You can think that I suppose, but overall it doesn't help the US on the International stage, having watched the majority of the statements made at the ICJ this week.
  10. Arab Americans feel 'a bone-deep sense of betrayal.' And they want Joe Biden defeated in 2024 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/02/17/biden-israel-support-cost-arab-american-vote/72506837007/
  11. The US are beginning to feel the International pressure from this: THE HAGUE, 9 February 2024. The International Court of Justice will hold public hearings on the request for an advisory opinion in respect of the Legal Consequences arising from the Policies and Practices of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, from Monday 19 to Monday 26 February 2024 at the Peace Palace in The Hague, the seat of the Court. Fifty-two States and three international organizations have expressed their intention to participate in the oral proceedings before the Court.
  12. Saudi Arabia have just finished their presentation to the ICJ, chances of normalising relations with Israel now non-existent by the look of it, now on a 10 minute coffee break. https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k13/k13jfq7uqb
  13. Whatever, I called the OP flannel, as it's a media piece from the Times of Israel and explained why in my opening post. Your consistent one sided view is waffle imho.
  14. Not at all, I welcome all investigations by the ICC/ICJ on the conduct of both parties.
  15. And I quote from your Reuters link: The visit will not be investigative, the ICC said, adding that it "represents (an) opportunity to express sympathy for ALL victims and engage in dialogue."
  16. More waffle from you, do you agree that both Israel hostage families have the same rights as Palestinian families with regard to justice for all arising from this conflict?
  17. Can I suggest you read this: #Explainer: The Israel-Hamas War and the International Criminal Court https://www.jurist.org/features/2024/01/25/explainer-the-israel-hamas-war-and-the-international-criminal-court/
  18. Very good, accuse me of not reading a piece and then try to imply the ICC are visiting Israel in relation to the charges, but Reuters said: The visit will not be investigative, the ICC said, adding that it "represents (an) opportunity to express sympathy for all victims and engage in dialogue."
  19. Nice bit of flannel, as Hamas are not the P.A. I doubt the Court has jurisdiction and how can Israeli citizens complain to the Court when the Country they are from has not ratified the Rome Statute, as stated in the piece. Last paragraph of the Times Piece referenced: The Palestinian Authority accepted the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in 2015, giving the court jurisdiction over Palestinian citizens in Palestinian territories, including Gaza. Israel has not ratified the Rome Statute, which established the ICC, and therefore sees itself as not subject to the court’s jurisdiction.
  20. I will, as soon as you admit the Zionist IDF are just as bad.
  21. I haven't counted before the 7/10, but as you brought it up: It was over fifty years ago that Israel occupied the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, part of which it annexed to Jerusalem. To this day, it continues to control these areas and the people living there. For over half a century, Israel has created a reality of dispossession, oppression and human rights abuses in Gaza and the West Bank. https://conquer-and-divide.btselem.org/map-en.html
  22. And the Zionist IDF kill 28,000 Palestinians and counting, and that's only from 7/10, such wonderful people the Israeli's.
  23. As expected, defending the undefendable, lovie.
  24. Previously posted in this thread, added the link in case you missed it, and it's from March 2023, many more added since I suspect. https://www.btselem.org/administrative_detention/20230604_israel_breaks_20_year_record_holds_1002_palestinians_in_administrative_detention_in_march_2023
  25. I am, yes, not so sure about the author.
