  1. Two far-right Israeli ministers have threatened to resign and bring down the governing coalition of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he accepts a peace proposal laid out by US President Joe Biden.

Biden unveiled on Friday what he said was a three-phase Israeli proposal to end the conflict in Gaza that would pair a release of hostages with a “full and complete ceasefire.”

During a speech at the White House, Biden said Hamas had been degraded to a point where it could no longer carry out the type of attack seen on October 7 that launched the current war in Gaza.

“It’s time for this war to end,” he said, a clear indication that – as far as he is concerned – Israel’s war goals have been met.

But the Israeli government’s two most prominent far-right members, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, made it explicitly clear they reject an immediate ceasefire. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also signaled he is not ready either, casting doubt over Biden’s proposal.

  3.  Israel's foreign ministry on Sunday recommended that Israeli citizens not travel to the Maldives after its government banned the entry of visitors with Israeli passports.

The recommendation, the Israeli ministry said, includes Israelis with dual citizenship.

"For Israeli citizens already in the country, it is recommended to consider leaving, because if they find themselves in distress for any reason, it will be difficult for us to assist," the ministry said in a statement.

The Maldives government said it will ban Israelis from entering the country amid escalating public anger in the nation over Israel's offensive in Gaza.

The AP reported that the president's office said that the cabinet decided to change laws to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the country and to "establish a subcommittee to oversee the process".

  4. Joe Biden’s Terrible Israel Policy Is Really About Getting in Bed With Saudi Arabia

Biden's plan to cozy up to Arab dictators is right out of Donald Trump's playbook — but even worse.

Why does Joe Biden insist on pursuing a foreign policy of blind support of Israel’s war on Gaza? In addition to the moral calamity — on full display as Israel bombed Palestinian refugee camps in Gaza — it has also exacted a political cost, damaging his relationship with his base and swing state voters. Critics have attributed Biden’s disastrous handling of the war to incompetence or his lifelong Zionism.

What is really at the center of the administration’s policy, however, is an insidious geopolitical play that will make the world a more dangerous place, advancing U.S. imperial interests under the guise of a diplomatic deal.

Biden wants to tie the U.S. to one of the most abhorrent regimes in the world for decades to come, striking a far-reaching security deal with Saudi Arabia — an agreement that would put American lives on the line to protect the Saudi dictatorship and lock us into a new cold war.

  5. Fourteen people were reported injured as Israelis in huge numbers hit streets in Tel Aviv and protested PM Benjamin Netanyahu's alleged inaction over Gaza hostage crisis. Protesters, including families of captives, called on Netanyahu to accept hostage and ceasefire deal proposed by U.S. president Joe Biden for both Israel and Hamas.

  6. I'm going against the trend here, I have a 2013 Focus 1600 Trend Auto, picked up cheap 100k 2 years ago under half what it was worth at the time due to gearbox problems, took me 15 minutes to fix with a 13mm, 10mm spanners and some Dielectric

Grease, they have a electrical fault half the time. Done over 50,000kms since runs great, cheap as chips to service at the local Ford dealer, you do get silly faults but show me any car that doesn't.

Now, after intensive diplomacy carried out by my team and my many conversations with leaders of Israel, Qatar, and Egypt and other Middle Eastern countries, Israel has now offered — Israel has offered a comprehensive new proposal.

Netanyahu insists on Hamas’ 'destruction' as part of plan to end war in Gaza

Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has insisted on Hamas’s destruction and said Israel’s conditions for ending the war in Gaza remain unchanged.

It came a day after Joe Biden said Israel was offering a new roadmap towards a full ceasefire in Gaza.

The US president said Israel’s three-stage offer would begin with a six-week phase that would see Israeli forces withdraw from all populated areas of Gaza.

It would also see the “release of a number of hostages, including women, the elderly, the wounded, in exchange for (the) release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners”, Biden said.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Netanyahu described the commitment to a permanent ceasefire before Hamas military and government capacity is destroyed as a “non-starter”.

    Netanyahu said:

Israel’s conditions for ending the war have not changed: the destruction of Hamas’s military and governing capabilities, the freeing of all hostages and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel.

Under the proposal, Israel will continue to insist these conditions are met before a permanent ceasefire is put in place. The notion that Israel will agree to a permanent ceasefire before these conditions are fulfilled is a non-starter.

A senior administration official said yesterday the four-and-a-half-page proposal had been endorsed by the Israeli government and had been presented to Hamas on Friday.

But it was unclear how enthusiastically Netanyahu had embraced the proposal, which Hamas said it had responded to “positively” (see earlier post at 08.31).

I know your post history, I know what you believe, we are about as far apart as is possible to get.

Fine, not the end of the world for me, I thought if we together as 2 people as far apart as the main protagonists, Hamas/Israel could come to some sort of agreement there could be a chance of peace here and in the Middle East, obviously to much of a leap for you.

So you agree that all those responsible for Oct 7th need to either be eliminated or surrender?

I agree, as long as those who surrender are tried and sentenced in a court of law and not summarily executed by Israel with no trial.

4 hours ago, Bkk Brian said:

You agree that Hamas can never be a threat again to the security of Israel?

If that is ever a possibility, yes.

4 hours ago, Bkk Brian said:

You agree it was Hamas prolonging this war for the last few months because they refused a deal?

That is not for me to agree to, mainly because I will always disagree that the conduct of Israel for years has never helped the situation. You know full well I am biting my tongue on the reasons why Hamas did what they did on 7/10, I agree it is difficult for you to accept that this all started without any provocation from Israel.

4 hours ago, Bkk Brian said:

You agree the terrorists are still holding innocent hostages and are being rewarded for their efforts?

I agree they are holding hostages, including innocent civilians. As far as being rewarded goes, not so much, unless there is some arrangement with the Israeli's to agree to this ceasefire there is nothing rewarding.

You agree that every life taken in Gaza has been because of Hamas?

Now that is a big ask, can we leave that one on the table for now?

I was quoting the initiator of the new proposals, Biden. The deal maker.

    He also said:

"Israel will always have the right to defend itself against the threats to its security and to bring those responsible for October 7th to justice. And the United States will always ensure that Israel has what it needs to defend itself. If Hamas fails to fulfill its commitments under the deal, Israel can resume military operations."

Yes the deal needs to be sorted, I have made dozens of posts on this already, only one group has stopped it, Hamas, that is a fact. Hence why I made clear "Hamas prove me wrong" I would love to be proved wrong and a deal happen. Hamas will never get a pass from me on this, I will always detest terrorists for what they've done.

You can stop making things up now: "so is it in your opinion I am wasting my time?"

Not making anything up, I felt I was agreeing with you that this needs sorting as it stands now, but it looks to me as if you still want to go tit for tat on the whole situation, can we agree to something along the lines of reconciliation between both sides and stop all the bickering on here?

  13. 2 minutes ago, Bkk Brian said:

Lame. 2 sides accusations? Its a fact Hamas has refused every deal so far, its a fact Hamas welcomed the ICJ ruling but ignored it and did not release the hostages.

"Hamas needs to take the deal. For months, people all over the world have called for a ceasefire. Now it’s time to raise your voices and to demand that Hasa- — Hamas come to the table, agrees to this deal, and ends this war that they began."

So Brian you're not interested in any sort of moratorium on a ceasefire where you cannot blame Hamas at every opportunity?

And yes, I know who started it on the 7/10.

The deal needs to be sorted for humanities sake and I was trying to be positive, so is it in your opinion I am wasting my time?

Hamas also welcomed the decision by ICJ but never released any hostages. Like I said prove me wrong Hamas

I think it's about time we all agree to stop putting the 2 sides accusations of the main protagonists aside and support the deal as it does appear to be some sort of progress towards a ceasefire.

‘Time for this war to end’: Biden tells Hamas to accept Israel’s hostage-ceasefire offer

Declaring that it is “time for this war to end,” US President Joe Biden gave a high-stakes speech Friday, presenting what he said was the latest Israeli proposal for a hostage deal and ceasefire to end the Israel-Hamas war, and calling on the terror group to accept the offer.

The Israeli proposal was submitted on Thursday to Hamas via Qatar, Biden revealed, saying the offer would “bring all the hostages home, ensure Israel’s security, create a better day after in Gaza without Hamas in power, and set the stage for a political settlement that provides a better future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”

Biden laid out the details of three phases, with particular emphasis on the first six-week phase, which was largely similar to the framework that was discussed in previous rounds of negotiations but included new conditions detailed by the president for the first time.

Hamas welcomed US President Joe Biden’s call on Friday for Israel and the group to agree to a three-phased hostage deal leading to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

“The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas views positively what was included in US President Joe Biden’s speech today,” the group said in a statement.

On Friday, Biden called on Israel and Hamas to accept a three-phase deal which includes the release of hostages in Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the enclave, a permanent ceasefire, and an exchange of prisoners.
