Eight Israeli soldiers have been killed in a blast that engulfed their armoured vehicle in southern Gaza, in the biggest loss of life for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in a single incident since January.
The deaths came amid continuing fighting around Rafah in which at least 19 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes.
According to the IDF, the squad of combat engineers were in a convoy of half a dozen armoured vehicles returning from a mission at about 5am on Saturday morning in the Tal al-Sultan area of the southern Gaza city when their vehicle was destroyed.

Only one in four British Muslims believe Hamas committed murder and rape in Israel, report
One quick look at who commissioned that report and that was enough for me.

The Muslim Council of Britain criticised the Society in 2017 for making "oblique references to the usual slurs levelled at Muslims: that Muslims do not integrate, are not part and parcel of British society, and are therefore likely to be terrorists".[62]
Co-founder Matthew Jamison, who now works for YouGov, wrote in 2017 that he was ashamed of his involvement, having never imagined the Henry Jackson Society "would become a far-right, deeply anti-Muslim racist ... propaganda outfit to smear other cultures, religions and ethnic groups". He claimed that "The HJS for many years has relentlessly demonised Muslims and Islam".[63]
In 2020, the Society paid damages to the UK Muslim educational channel Huda Television Ltd, having confused it in 2018 with the similarly named Egyptian station, Huda TV, which it accused of a "radical agenda" and hosting islamic extremist content.[64]

Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar revealed details of Hamas's response to the latest US-mediated ceasefire proposal, which the Palestinian group submitted to Qatar and Egypt on Tuesday.
The Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper said Hamas demanded that a temporary ceasefire becomes permanent by the end of the first 42-day phase of the agreement, and that Israeli forces completely withdraw from Gaza within the same time frame.
For the main points, you will have to read the link.

Navi Pillay , a pro Palestinian South African Woman who has a history of opposing Israel
Her contribution to the 2001 Durban Conference on racism, the Goldstone report, and her steering of the UN Human Rights Council have been criticized as unjust by The Jerusalem Post.[63] Pillay's claim that Israel was engaged in the "apparent targeting of …children playing", on 23 July 2014, a charge previously denied by IDF spokesmen,[64] has been described by Anne Bayefsky as "incitement to hate".[65] After reviewing the heavy US contribution to the Iron Dome program, Pillay called for better defense for Gaza, stating that "no such protection has been provided to Gazans against the shelling".[66] TheTablet magazine described this statement as a "hilariously delicious absurdity".[67] On 25 July 2014, the United States Congress published a letter addressed to Pillay by over 100 members in which the signatories asserted that the Human Rights Council "cannot be taken seriously as a human rights organisation" over their handling of the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict.[68] In July 2022 Pillay defended Miloon Kothari, a member of the Permanent United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Israel Palestine conflict who questioned Israel's right to be a UN member state and alluded to a "Jewish lobby controlling social media," which prompted condemnation by Israel, Britain and United States. Pillay claimed that Kothari's comments were taken out of context.[69]

Can I suggest you take it up with the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, who made the report.

GENEVA (12 June 2024) – Israeli authorities are responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the military operations and attacks in Gaza since 7 October 2023, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel, said in a new report today. The Commission also found that Palestinian armed groups are responsible for war crimes committed in Israel.
The Commission’s report – the UN’s first in-depth investigation of the events that took place on and since 7 October 2023 – is based on interviews with victims and witnesses conducted remotely and during a mission to Türkiye and Egypt, thousands of open-source items verified through advanced forensic analysis, hundreds of submissions, satellite imagery and forensic medical reports. Israel obstructed the Commission’s investigations and prevented its access to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
“It is imperative that all those who have committed crimes be held accountable,” said Navi Pillay, Chair of the Commission. “The only way to stop the recurring cycles of violence, including aggression and retribution by both sides, is to ensure strict adherence to international law.”

World leaders at Gaza aid conference urge Israel, Hamas to back ceasefire
World leaders at a conference on humanitarian aid for Gaza called on both Israel and Hamas to back a ceasefire proposal endorsed at the UN Security Council, saying it is the best way to alleviate suffering. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told him that he is committed to getting the proposal “across the finish line.” -
8 hours ago, Social Media said:
Despite Netanyahu’s war cabinet authorizing the plan, he has not publicly endorsed it. The proposal has sparked contention within Netanyahu’s coalition, particularly among far-right ultranationalist ministers who view it as capitulation to Hamas and have threatened to resign if the plan proceeds.
Conversely, Hamas is expected to demand clear assurances that the proposal will lead to a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent cessation of hostilities. Thus far, Hamas has not formally responded to the plan.
The complexity of the situation is compounded by the fact that the detailed Israeli proposal, reportedly more comprehensive than the summary presented by President Biden, has not been disclosed publicly. This proposal was formulated by Israel’s three-man war cabinet and has faced opposition from some far-right ministers.
Whatever happens until this is sorted out the plan is a non-starter imho

More grave violations against children were committed in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel than anywhere else in the world last year, according to a UN report due to be published this week.
The report on children and armed conflict, which has been seen by the Guardian, verified more cases of war crimes against children in the occupied territories and Israel than anywhere else, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Myanmar, Somalia, Nigeria and Sudan.
“Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory presents an unprecedented scale and intensity of grave violations against children,” the report said.

The prospect of a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas appears to be rapidly receding after the far-right Israeli cabinet member Bezalel Smotrich – on whom Benjamin Netanyahu is now reliant after the resignations of more moderate ministers at the weekend – said he would oppose a deal.
Smotrich’s comments, during a Knesset committee meeting, came amid the fallout from the resignation of the former army chief of staff Benny Gantz from the war cabinet. Gantz quit on the same weekend that Israel rescued four Israeli hostages held in Gaza in an operation that Gaza’s health ministry said killed more than 270 Palestinians and injured hundreds more.
The departure of Gantz, the leader of the centre-right National Unity party, leaves Netanyahu with enough seats in his coalition but has made him even more reliant on the support of far-right allies including Smotrich, the finance minister, and Itamar Ben-Gvir, the national security minister, who have repeatedly threatened to walk away over any deal for a ceasefire in exchange for hostages.

Yeah we know, cos we get told the same old garbage day, after day. after day, the fact that the clock started ticking donkey's years before the 7th is not important to you but go ask the Palestinians that have lived with Israel's nonsense since for 70 odd years.

What on earth are the US thinking here, Israel clearly want no part of this yet the US claim they are on board with the proposal. What a waste of time and effort by the negotiators, this should never have been put to the UNSC unless Israel was committed to it, clearly from the comments of the Israeli representative they have no wish to end this war without a total Hamas capitulation.

Harrowing Captivity: The Ordeal and Rescue of Hostages Held by Hamas
in The War in Israel
Posted
Three hostages rescued during a deadly Israeli military operation on the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza were held captive by a journalist, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) alleged Sunday, without providing evidence to support their claim.
In a statement, the IDF claimed freed hostages Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv were held by journalist Abdallah Aljamal and his family members at their home in the central Gaza camp.
The three men, who were kidnapped by Hamas militants from the Nova music festival on October 7, were rescued after being held captive for 246 days, in an IDF special operation on Saturday along with a fourth hostage, Noa Argamani.
