  1. Blinken Is Sitting on Staff Recommendations to Sanction Israeli Military Units Linked to Killings or Rapes A special State Department panel told Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the U.S. should restrict arms sales to Israeli military units that have been credibly accused of human rights abuses. He has not taken any action. A special State Department panel recommended months ago that Secretary of State Antony Blinken disqualify multiple Israeli military and police units from receiving U.S. aid after reviewing allegations that they committed serious human rights abuses. https://www.propublica.org/article/israel-gaza-blinken-leahy-sanctions-human-rights-violations
  2. Far-right allies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are raising pressure on the embattled leader to reject a new Gaza ceasefire, jeopardising his government's stability if he backs away from an assault on Hamas in Rafah. However, if a ceasefire is agreed, the attack plans will be shelved in favour of a "period of sustained calm", according to a source briefed on the talks, during which a few dozen hostages of Hamas will be released in return for Palestinian prisoners. On Sunday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urged Netanyahu not to back away from a ground offensive against Hamas in Rafah, even as the premier is grappling with pressure from international allies to scrap assault plans due to the risk of high civilian casualties and a humanitarian disaster. But a ceasefire would be a humiliating defeat, Smotrich said in a video he released to the press and addressed to Netanyahu. If it fails to stamp out Hamas, "a government headed by you will have no right to exist," he said. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/gaza-truce-or-rafah-assault-netanyahu-faces-political-dilemma-2024-04-29/
  3. Fantastic, shame it has taken since 1.12pm yesterday to answer my question, I take it you now know what a ? means at the end of a sentence? While I have your attention I take it Mrs Falter's problem child who leads the Campaign Against Antisemitism issue about cancelling his "walk together" is now sorted ref "bottled it"?
  4. Yes you stated that Palestinians are not starving to death, and I asked you "So you want to see Palestinians starving to death?"
  5. Read and understand, please. As for the "Bottled it" I clearly stated in my post and I quote: Campaign Against Antisemitism has cancelled its planned counter-protest against a pro-Palestinian march through central London on Saturday. The group, led by Gideon Falter, had said it wanted to use the “walk together” initiative to support its view that the area around the planned pro-Palestinian march was not safe for Jewish people. But on Friday afternoon CAA announced that its event had been cancelled amid pressure from those within the Jewish community who feared it could backfire.
  6. Been out of the UK 18 months, 3 bed semi, all electric, usual bills approximately 300 quid a month, 150 electric, 50 water rates and 100 council tax, all gone up substantially since. Over here lived for the last 13 months in a 3 bed bungalow out in the sticks, cost me less than 100 quid all in for electric and water, no council tax, per month. What's not to like, and then there is cheaper car running costs, smokes, not a big drinker but that's cheaper and I get great sex 24/7, winner winner chicken dinner.
  7. From the river to the sea everyone should be free, Jews, Christians, Muslims and non-believers.
  8. So you want to see Palestinians starving to death? And you wonder why people march against Israel.
  9. Fantastic, you found 2 miscreants out of 200,000 peace marchers, well done you.
  10. My side getting ready to march in London in our hundreds of thousands, calling on our government & institutions to end their complicity with Israel's genocide in Gaza, as @BenJamalpsc explains https://x.com/AndyCChapman/status/1784172541453459522
  11. It is important to correct the thoroughly dishonest representation of the circumstances surrounding this incident that has been reported in recent days. Mr Falter is a prominent pro-Israel activist and leading member of the misnamed ‘Campaign Against Antisemitism’ (CAA), an organisation with an appalling track record of anti-Palestinian racism and Islamophobia. From its foundation, CAA has sought to conflate criticism of the state of Israel with antisemitism, something for which it was criticised by the 2015 All-Party Parliamentary Inquiry Into Antisemitism. Such conflation seeks to silence Palestinian voices by associating their call for justice and liberation with antisemitism, and to suggest that all Jewish people support Israel’s crimes. Both claims fuel rather than challenge racism and should be utterly rejected. CAA has also been widely accused of racism for its use of anti-Palestinian racist tropes and Islamophobic narratives including smears against the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Since October, it has consistently sought to pressure the police and the government to ban demonstrations against Israel’s genocide, even calling for the army to be deployed to stop marches. https://palestinecampaign.org/palestine-march-organisers-reject-false-claims-of-pro-israel-activist/
  12. I'll oppose/support who I want, thankyou, if ever I need any help to decide who I support you will be the first to know, but don't hold your breath.
  13. What was actually ordered by ICJ surely has to be noted, even on a new thread, clearly after reading what the ICJ ordered there is a case of Israel doing wrong, if you take account of Israel's actions since the Order was adopted.
  14. All very "plausible" but there you go, wouldn't have expected anything else from the pro-Israel lobby on here, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  18. ISTANBUL (AP) — A top Hamas political official told The Associated Press the Islamic militant group is willing to agree to a truce of five years or more with Israel and that it would lay down its weapons and convert into a political party if an independent Palestinian state is established along pre-1967 borders. The comments by Khalil al-Hayya in an interview Wednesday came amid a stalemate in months of talks for a cease-fire in Gaza. The suggestion that Hamas would disarm appeared to be a significant concession by the militant group officially committed to Israel’s destruction. But it’s unlikely Israel would consider such a scenario. It has vowed to crush Hamas following the deadly Oct. 7 attacks that triggered the war, and its current leadership is adamantly opposed to the creation of a Palestinian state on lands Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war. https://apnews.com/article/hamas-khalil-alhayya-qatar-ceasefire-1967-borders-4912532b11a9cec29464eab234045438#:~:text=ISTANBUL (AP) — A top, established along pre-1967 borders.
