  2. I go to a little place on the main drag, the Mrs books it in I just wait and pay the Insurance/test fee, the good thing about it was I took some tools with me and adjusted the headlights, they had no clue until I showed them on the aiming machine. I had Saabs for 25 years prior to this Ford, now they were the best thing on 4 wheels.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Yes, I noticed last year when it went for test, its only a Banger, Ford Focus but it gets us around OK after a few tweaks by me, got it up to UK MOT standard.
  4. Coming up for renewal at the end of April, goes anyone know if it can be done prior to the date it runs out?
  5. Japan lifts pause in funding for UNRWA, The European Commission, Canada, Australia, Sweden and Finland have also lifted similar funding pauses in recent weeks. Japan was one of 16 countries that suspended funding to UNRWA amid Israeli allegations that 12 of the agency’s staff participated in Hamas’s attacks on southern Israel. Israeli authorities later claimed that more than 450 UNRWA employees are “military operatives in terror groups in Gaza”. The UN, which has launched an investigation into the claims, has said Israel has not provided it with evidence to support the allegations. UNRWA, founded in 1949, provides food, healthcare and education to some 5.9 million Palestinian refugees. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2024/4/2/japan-lifts-pause-in-funding-for-unrwa-following-canada-australia
  6. Four people arrested after more than 200,000 people attend pro-Palestine London protest. The Met said officers arrested one man on the Strand in relation to inviting support for a proscribed organisation. Three further arrests were made at the march – one person was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and two others were arrested on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm and distress. https://www.itv.com/news/london/2024-03-30/man-arrested-on-suspicion-of-terror-offence-at-pro-palestinian-protest
  7. On 26 March 2024 during the 55th session of the Geneva-based Human Rights Council, Francesca Albanese, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, presented a report entitled "Anatomy of a Genocide". By analyzing the patterns of violence and Israel’s policies in its onslaught on Gaza, Ms. Albanese concludes that "there are reasonable grounds to believe that the threshold indicating Israel’s commission of genocide is met." Special Rapporteurs are appointed by the Human Rights Council and serve in their individual capacity, independent of the UN system and national governments. They are not UN staff and draw no salary.
  8. Tens of thousands of Israelis take part in anti-gov’t protests Protesters say Jerusalem rally is the biggest anti-government protest since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October. Tens of thousands of people have gathered outside the Israeli parliament building in Jerusalem in the largest anti-government protest since Israel launched its assault on Gaza. The protesters on Sunday demanded the government secure a ceasefire deal that would also free Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza and called for early elections. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/31/israelis-stage-largest-anti-government-protest-since-gaza-war-began?traffic_source=rss
  9. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, October 7, told Israel that it is "at war" with Hamas militants that rule the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu's comments in a televised address mark his first since the Gaza Strip's Hamas rulers launched a major, multi-front attack on Israel at daybreak Saturday. He ordered a call-up of reservists and promised that Hamas would "pay a price that it hasn't known until now." "We are at war," Netanyahu said. "Not an 'operation,' not a 'round,' but at war." The prime minister also ordered the military to clear the infiltrated towns of Hamas militants that remained locked in gunfights with Israeli soldiers. https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2023/10/07/netanyahu-says-israel-is-at-war-after-hamas-launches-unprecedented-attack-on-country_6154895_4.html#
  10. What on Earth has this reply got to do with the post you're replying to?
  11. You said the war was not declared until the next day, your post is above with your comment highlighted in bold, italics and underlined, lie number 1. Now show me a post where I have claimed that the 5 girls/ladies were POW's, I actually said "These 5 must be classed as P.O.W.'s, as they were in the I.D.F." As an aside the 5 IDF members were captured on the day war was declared by Netanyahu the 7th Oct 2023, to me the hour of capture is irrelevant, same day.
  12. Caught you telling fibs again, naughty naughty, I won't hold my breath for an apology. Note the date, so therefore why are the combatants captured on the 7th Oct 2023 not classed as POW's? https://www.timesofisrael.com/we-are-at-war-netanyahu-says-after-hamas-launches-devastating-surprise-attack/ https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/middle-east/netanyahu-tells-israel-we-are-at-war-after-hamas-launches-an-unprecedented-attack-on-the-country/articleshow/104237141.cms https://www.lemonde.fr/en/international/article/2023/10/07/netanyahu-says-israel-is-at-war-after-hamas-launches-unprecedented-attack-on-country_6154895_4.html#
  13. Certainly does, were the 5 girls/ladies members of the IDF?
  14. Yes of course it is, made you think though didn't it and all the pro-Israel posts on here are to minimize the worldwide condemnation of Israel atrocities in Gaza and the occupied territories, by fair means or foul, tell us something we don't know.
  15. As can be seen from my original post, I said the 5 Ladies serving in the IDF must be classed as POW's but as Brian said that war wasn't declared till the following day, so that might be a moot point. We will have to see how this plays out, they would have more rights as POW's than as civilian hostages with only the rights given them by there captures.
  16. They were all captured at the Nahal Oz IDF Base as stated from information in your link. You were the one who stated and I quote "Stop this nonsense, they are hostages that are also probably being sexually abused by terrorists" I only asked for some proof of that statement, have you got any?
  17. You posted the link, did you not? Can you prove that Hamas are not giving these 5 combatants their rights under the Geneva Convention?
  18. What nonsense? Is Israel at war with Hamas? This is about 5 Israeli combatants as declared in this post: https://themedialine.org/top-stories/women-held-captive-in-gaza-face-uncertain-fate/ Any proof of this comment? "they are hostages that are also probably being sexually abused by terrorists." The ICJ, Security Council and just about every other body in the world involved with this did not say free the Prisoners of War. True, there was no comment about POW's only Hostages.
  19. A prisoner of war (POW) is a person who is held captive by a belligerent power during or immediately after an armed conflict. The earliest recorded usage of the phrase "prisoner of war" dates back to 1610.[a] Belligerents hold prisoners of war in custody for a range of legitimate and illegitimate reasons, such as isolating them from the enemy combatants still in the field (releasing and repatriating them in an orderly manner after hostilities), demonstrating military victory, using civilians to deter attacks on active military targets, punishing them, prosecuting them for war crimes, exploiting them for their labour, recruiting or even conscripting them as their own combatants, collecting military and political intelligence from them, or indoctrinating them in new political or religious beliefs.[1] Under the 1949 Geneva Conventions, prisoners of war are automatically granted the enhanced status of protected persons, alongside certain civilians and enemy combatants who are hors de combat (i.e., out of the fight).[2]
  20. Do politics play any part in food security analysis? https://www.ipcinfo.org/ipcinfo-website/faqs/en/ IPC was created precisely to supersede potential political interferences through technical neutrality, and, if necessary, to shine a light on the political dimensions (at both national and international levels) that may obfuscate the severity of food insecurity situations. IPC provides parameters which are based on international standards to analyse the severity of food insecurity from none to Famine levels. These parameters have been commonly agreed by all partners and are followed in all countries using IPC protocols to ascertain the severity of the situation based on these parameters and data available. This is particularly challenging in countries affected by conflict where some areas are not accessible and quality data are not always available. For this reason, an independent committee of global experts, called the IPC Famine Review Committee (FRC), can be activated to support the IPC country team of food security and nutrition specialists as an additional quality assurance and validation step for the IPC conclusions. The activation of the IPC FRC is also meant to further ensure technical independence of the analysis from potential political influence.
  21. These 5 must be classed as P.O.W.'s, as they were in the I.D.F. Liri Albag was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz IDF base on the Gaza border, where she served as a surveillance soldier. She completed basic training and reported to the base on Thursday, October 5, just two days before her abduction. Karina Ariev, a surveillance soldier, was abducted from the Nahal Oz IDF Base. Agam, also known as “Gagi,” was kidnapped from the Nahal Oz IDF Base, where she served as a communications lookout. It was her first weekend on the base. Serving as an observation soldier at the IDF 414th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit, Gilboa was abducted from the Nahal Oz Base. Naama was kidnapped on Saturday, October 7 from the Nahal Oz IDF Base. She had just finished her training to be a part of the border observation unit and arrived on base on Thursday, October 5. https://themedialine.org/top-stories/women-held-captive-in-gaza-face-uncertain-fate/
