  1. I don't think it's about the girl liking you, it's just a question of whether the girl is a giving girl or not. Some girls are more giving than others. It's nice when you get a girl like that, I had that before too, they buy you expensive cologne or other things. But it just means she's a giving girl it doesn't mean a girl who likes you has to give you presents. A girl can like you and not give you presents, that's actually more of the norm, women are takers normally, not givers.
  2. The moka pot is the best choice. The original Bialetti of stainless steel is the best choice, but many knock offs also do a fine job and are way cheaper. The right coffee is more important, in Thailand Cafe Ronn and the brown Wawee are good options, Mandailing Estate from Sumatra is the best for me, but hard to get in Thailand. Of course there are other good coffees like Puerto Rican Yauco, some Ethiopian and the Spanish Torrefacto can be interesting, but overall the best coffee is Mandailing from Indonesia. Pay attention to grind and get a good grinder, like Braun and go for the darkest roast. A hit of Monin Caramel syrup will give you that Pret experience.
  3. I tried a Keto diet for a few months. You do feel good after a while and I lost weight. It's just a nightmare to keep it up, it's really restrictive. I can't imagine what the carnivore diet would be like, which is even more restrictive. Just for keeping that up Peterson deserves an award. If he is keeping it up, I don't believe everything I see on Youtube.
  4. Yes, possibly. Just, as father, a total stranger buying such a substantial gift for your child does hurt the ego of the father I'm sure. He'll think, that's my kid, don't butt in and I should be the one to buy this. Imagine if it was a girlfriend, it would be totally off.
  5. Well she sends the money I gave her to her mother. She could have spent on me.
  6. Here's what happened. The mother made a big deal of the nice Farang buying a gift for the boy and went in and on until the father saw red and smashed the thing. If some stranger bought my daughter a guitar I would also not be pleased as the father. Though I wouldn't smash it out of respect for craftsmanship and culture. But I would definitely not be happy.
  7. I second that. I spent two weeks in Hua Hin at the Hilton. Nice hotel but it was the most boring time in Thailand I ever had.
  8. It was an allusion to France's culinary heritage. Just as the headless woman referred to France's history. And the horse was just a horse not a horseman of the apocalypse. The Christian outrage says more about Christian tunnel vision than satanic credentials. I don't know where they get Satan from, honestly.
  9. I wish she would buy me some nice clothes. Not even a T-shirt, mate.
  10. I think it was a year, she kept having to work to pay for her university as nobody was supporting her. It just got too hard I think.
  11. Good point, she is extremely childish.
  12. Your contracts with clients, receipts of their payments.
  13. Yes, I saw that in Cebu as well, whole families living under bridges. It's a tough neighbourhood. There are very poor parts of Thailand as well, but yes, Phil is poorer still by far.
  14. All very sound, would totally agree. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman you can trust. This is one of the most important things with this girl, that she is very trustworthy so far. Of course early days and you have to keep your eyes open, things can always change. Blind trust is foolish. But if a girl is really not trustworthy you can usually tell quickly, sadly not always, some can hide it really well, but it will come out.
  15. Possibly, but the way I see it I do not have to look after her parents. The money I earn is not for her parents. Girlfriends really do talk like this, btw, I had access to my previous Filipina's facebook and there was a convo with a girlfriend where they were asking how much each was getting out of the boyfriend financially for their families.
  16. Absolutely, I love that the Thais have their own cultural norms. It just makes it harder to teach the Thai girl all the porn star things she will have to do with Farangs generally. Thai families are much closer, because of the prevalent poverty. Dependence on family is higher for longer. People in the west look after their parents, just not as closely as Thais, it's a fair point.
  17. On another thread we learnt that Thais are more morally strict than Filipinas. Family in Phil is more permissive. There are way more prostitutes in Phil than in Thailand, more than double, which tallies with the population difference. If you factor in serial dating with foreigners there's well over a million women in Phil living off sex work.
  18. My gf told me this and I did not believe it. She also said that her mother prohibited her uncle from sitting with the girls in case anything untoward happens. I think morally Thais are much harder than many other SE Asians, like Filipinos. Though perhaps less than North Sumatrans.
  19. I thought that too. In comparison to Thais. But like with Thais, you have to teach the Filipina what to do. They are initially not good in bed, but they can learn quickly and really take to it if they're inclined to sex, which many are. Filipinas have much less trouble using sex toys, and doing weirder things which a Thai would often not do, a good Thai, I mean, obviously you also have the Pattaya and Nana girls. I am talking about normal girls.
  20. Let's say you get a remote job which pays 4000 Dollars. Do you think the consulates will accept this as satisfying the "500,000" requirement, or do you think you literally have to have 500,000 saved in a bank account for the DTV visa?
  21. That's always the problem, by the time we get wise we've made the mistake and it's too late. I don't like prostitutes much myself, I like a relationship with a good woman. Also with sex I don't think prostitutes really try the way a girl who sees you as long term does.
  22. This is a universal story in the book of men. We do our best to provide because we think this is what we have to do. Then they repay us with disloyalty. I have so many friends who went through this. And the law does not protect us at all. She'll just turn around and say "nobody forced you to pay, you wanted to". You can't say "yes I wanted to because of the implied understanding that you'd be a loyal girlfriend and partner and act in my best interest as well". The girl and the courts will laugh in your face. The only way we can protect ourselves is not to provide for women. Which opens the door for the desperate bottom feeders who will see that this gives them a chance at sex, by providing. I don't see how this issue can be solved. There will always be men willing to provide and this is why women rule the world. Not men. My grandfather worked shifts in a factory. For 40 years. He got shares and a good income and a heart condition which killed him at 67. Guess who got all his money? His wife, who proceed to spend on leather couches and other useless crap, sold all the shares foolishly. The only one who benefitted from his hard work was her. This notion of men providing for women, it is counter to all justice but it is the way it is.
  23. Not rich, just normal guy. I gave her 2000 Baht a week at the start to compensate for her loss of income from her factory job. However, I realised quickly she just sends all that money to her mother. So I stopped giving her an allowance. And she's not been asking. She doesn't like to do that.
  24. I did also think so, that her losing her father at a young age, she craves closeness with an older male, her previous Ukrainian was my age as well. I have no problem with that. I don't want a daugther, like I said I'm not showering her with money, but I have no issue to order her some clothes or shoes if she needs that or buy her a Som Tom. That doesn't make her a daughter figure. If anything I like to be mothered, cooked for and pampered. Of course in an ideal world the woman needs none of your money, buys her own everything. But even in London I never experienced that. I have always had women depend on me. And btw this gets way worse if you have children. You're absolutely right though, our parents form our love maps. Which makes me shudder when I think of my own poor children.
  25. It's a bit different I think, mustard is a taste issue and yes it's not to everyone's taste. However, a hug, I mean that is a UNIVERSALLY pleasant experience which children, women, men, most people can enjoy. Even those who are not into physical affection generally have no issue to hug. They may just not need to hug, because it's not that great to them. But it's still good. I mean, I don't think this is a dealbreaker for me. I can live with a fun, honest, trustworthy, attractive 24 year old who does the washing up and clean for a long time. Would it be better if she were to enjoy physical warmth. Sure. But I really don't know if this is a dealbreaker for me. I suspect not.
