One of my biggest pet peeves about the education here, they are almost always celebrating something or taking multiple days off for the ridiculous amount of holidays here.....Drives me nuts! I asked my wife how the kids can get an education when they seem to be constantly on holiday or celebrating here, it never ends.

I was thinking the same thing, put the Bt500 billion Digital Wallet money into education, it will do way more good that way.

I'm betting almost all of it ends up in the pockets of the CP Group.

My daughter drives the teachers nuts, she is only 8 years old but questions them tirelessly, especially when she knows something is wrong......the stories she tells me about some conversations cracks me up....LOL

In Thailand, corruption is the norm, it's engrained into the society and culture here as a whole, just like selfishness and greed.

Which is why owning rental property in the US scares me, I sold my house when I went back in April, sick of the costs and headaches. May buy again in the future, but for now I'll just stay on the sidelines.

You don't have to pay any taxes and you can get free everything is the USA, just walk over the border and demand your entitlements.

By all means, cut back on education in a country with such a stellar educational system. Oh, and they save extra baht in the budget for the government too? Glorious!

Who needs details, just make a proclamation, no need for transparency or written regulations for disbursement. I mean their are a ton of drooling politicians and desperate mia-noi's waiting to gobble up all this loot. Yeah, everyone's situation is different, but I don't relish the idea of giving 24.5% of what little i have to Thailand......like you said, very few Thai's even pay tax, why is it then that I would have to pay way more than they do, and for what conveniences? TM30's, 90 Days, Yearly extensions, Re-entry permits, no ability to own land, Farang pricing, etc ...etc...etc......more headaches than it's worth. I don't like being treated like an ATM machine.

This is Thailand, the land of corruption, accepted by all levels of society.......I'd be more inclined to believe it's from ill-gotten gains.

I am in that not rich enough (actually just staying afloat) to make a difference, but enough to where they hit me with taxes that inconvenience me. Lets say my wife makes 1.4 million baht per year, she reduces her taxes to 860,000 with deductions .......where she pays 86000 baht with me on her taxes (all deductions applied), then I add say 1,000,000 to the tax return for the year, I calculate we would pay 245,000 more baht in Thai taxes. That 1,000,000 will probably be tax free in the USA, so I am paying money I don't want to pay to Thailand. Not liking the future here, not that I like it now.

Yes, these are the same idiots I see speeding in and out of traffic, only problem is that a pickup truck is very light in the back....making them highly unstable when jerking the wheel side to side like they are in some type of cup car race.....do that in the rain with wide tires?
