Not sure I understand you correctly, but I use a Skype number ($39.50 yearly) and a call plan for the USA/CAN (unlimited - $30.50 yearly). I then just use a data travel plan while I am over there, my last trip I used a 10GB e-SIM from Airalo for I think $26, I think a 20GB is like $40. It's also easy to top up using their app if you need to add more GB's.

They were then run over by a lorry. Play stupid games on a motorcycle, don't be surprised by the outcome.....just a dumb move, especially in Thailand.
