Like you, I don't understand the attraction here, if not for my wife and daughter, I would be out of here forever. This is the biggest cesspool I have ever seen, I mean there are some horrible places (inner cities) in the USA too, but I lived in a rural town in the NE where comfortable/safe living is the norm. Now throw these Thai tax changes in the list of annoyances of living here? This place then becomes what I can only describe as Hell on Earth to someone like me, I hate it here with a passion!

See this behavior every day, I assume most Thai drivers are trying to commit suicide. Until proper road tests are conducted and administered by qualified instructors/evaluators, this bloodbath and property damage will continue. But none of that will matter if they don't make the RTP get out of their air conditioned shacks and on to the streets enforcing road rules/laws.

I don't even understand what the endgame in Ukraine is, they aren't going to win, if anything this could eventually spark a World War (with a NUCLEAR POWER!). If the West had stayed out of politics in Ukraine back when it was under different rulers, this would never have happened. We shouldn't have been screwing around in Russia's backyard to begin with, anyone with half a brain would have known Putin would annex Crimea where he had an important military base to protect. This whole thing at this point is nothing more than a cash grab for the military industrial complex and politicians looking to grab their share of loot in the process. Meanwhile people are dying in this lost proxy war, and the cost to rebuild after it is all done will be worse yet.

AMEN! I just wish my wife would make the choice to leave, I decided forcing her to do so would not be a good choice, it has to be her choice. But I personally hate our life here, I just want to go back home where I can drive, walk, cross a road in peace and safety. To where the air and water are clean, people follow rules and laws, and life is not so fast paced, get back to hiking, camping, and fishing back in the rural USA. My daughter would also gain from not growing up in this cesspool of selfish people, mass-corruption, pollution and lawlessness.
