  1. I'm saying there can be no discussions that promote or discuss tax evasion so you post will be removed.
  2. Yes, I misread that, sorry. But to be clear, your carry cash on plane is evasion, plain and simple.
  3. Nope, read the document!!! Cash is still a remittance which is still taxable, there is no tax free.
  4. Anything over $15k needs a customs declaration
  5. You only think it's unfair because you don't understand.
  6. Read the simple guide and please don't post about tax avoidance and, if you don't understand something, please ask a question rather than posting confused emojis. Thanks
  7. Will somebody please oblige this poster, I'm away from my PC and travelling, it's a pinned thread in the finance section
  8. Yes, you really do need to go and read the simple tax guide also.
  9. You would be wrong as far as tax law and every Revenue department in the world was concerned.
  10. No, those transfers are inbound remittances which may or may not be income, which in turn may or may not be taxable.
  11. Depends on the source of the funds, from where, how much etc.GO READ THE DOCUMENT please
  12. Your statements covering all the various accounts, based on what you declare on the tax return. Suggest you read the simple guide to tax thread and the document in the op.
  13. Don't mean to be a prude but if it's not legal, please leave it unsaid.
  14. What you were told is correct, some transfers may be taxed, depending on various factors. Please read the document and come back with any questions
  15. This is not correct if the transfers are made from savings earned before 1 Jan 2024.
  16. There have been reports of amphurs refusing fo hold safe custody of foreigners wills, just as there have been instances where amphurs will not issue yellow tabien bahns to foreigners, mine for example.
  17. This question is better answered in the visa section, I have asked that it is moved.
  18. A Thai will must be executed via probate court, there are some informal local workarounds, in some cases but the law requires probate, amphur will or not.
  19. You will almost certainly not have to pay tax on your remittances but you you will have to wait until the new rules are announced before your other questions can be accurately answered, with any confidence. In the meantime I suggest you read the simple guide to personal income tax, in an adjacent thread.
  20. Probate court determines. The validity of the will to see if newer versions may exist and allow. An opportunity for them to be presented.
  21. The going rate for Thai lawyer to process a will through probate court, for a foreigner, is around 30k baht currently, on northern Thailand.
  22. I know that feeling only too well, you are certainly not alone. The yield curve is still inverted and whilst accepted wisdom is to go long dated bonds in a falling rate environment, short term bonds are winning the game. For the first time I am holding both long and short term global bonds, just trying to cover the bases, how crazy is that.
  23. I'm sorry, poster yellowtail was correct, I should not have mentioned politics in this thread because it leads to the discussion that is emerging now. Please can we get back to the subject matter intended. I've hidden from view one post that expanded the political discussion. Thanks for your understanding.
  24. I have updated the list of unknowns to include the following: F. If, as far as expats are concerned, the existing tax code/law really does pertain only to income derived from inside Thailand, which existing tax code rules, obliges resident expats who receive offshore income to file a tax return, eg is Section 40/41 intended to include such people or not?
