Emergency responders, including rescue teams from Wat Kao Charoentham, Phu Nga EMS, and the Phang Nga Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Unit, were dispatched to the scene. The crash occurred on Phetkasem Road in Moo 5, Krasom Subdistrict, Takua Thung District, Phang Nga Province. Upon arrival, responders found a pink Phuket-Phatthalung bus, registered in Trang, lying on its side. The front windscreen was shattered, and skid marks indicated the vehicle had lost control, colliding with a roadside tree stump before rolling onto its side. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. The incident occurred at a two-storey commercial building undergoing extensive renovations. Workers were installing a steel framework for the roof when a metal beam accidentally made contact with an overhead power line. The electric current surged through the metal structure, shocking three workers. Emergency rescue teams from the Uthai Thani Rescue Unit (Nong Chang division) isolated the electrical supply, then climbed onto the roof to assist the injured workers before transporting them to Nong Chang Hospital. Two of the victims, both Myanmar nationals, sustained severe burns, one suffering full-body burns, while the second had serious burns on his left arm from his hand to his elbow. About 50 metres from the scene, police located a .38 calibre homemade firearm discarded on the roadside. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Vithun, was also a neighbour of the victim. According to Police Colonel Paitoon Paesinuan, prior to the shooting, Montara was performing plumbing repairs outside his home, which created significant noise. This seemingly provoked Vithun, who lived nearby, leading to a heated argument between the two men. During the confrontation, Vithun fired one shot at Montara before walking around the house and returning to fire a second shot, fatally wounding him. In a tragic turn of events, Vithun then used the same weapon to shoot himself in the chest, resulting in serious injuries. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for emergency treatment. An eyewitness, known as Pom, recounted hearing the argument and gunshots. He emerged from his house to find Vithun walking around with the firearm and heard Montara calling for help, stating, “Help! Given the intensity of the fire, additional support was requested from nearby local government units and agencies to assist in controlling the situation. Under the leadership of Mayor Wanchai Jongsuthanamanee, key officials, including Sub-Lieutenant Natthasaran Insaen, the Chief of the Secretary’s Office, and Phapan Changkaew, head of the administrative division, mobilised a firefighting team of 40 personnel and multiple fire trucks to the location. The team worked for approximately one hour and thirty minutes to contain the fire and ensure it did not spread to neighbouring buildings. Then it took an additional hour before finally extinguishing the flames and all hot spots within the remains of the structure.
