A local vendor, Mrs. Wichian, 71, who witnessed the aftermath, reported that the victim was still conscious when he was brought to the alley entrance but later lost consciousness before rescue workers arrived. Police have secured all evidence and are questioning witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. The victim's body has been sent to the forensic institute for an autopsy. The trailer, coming from Burapha Phatthana Road, was turning towards Rayongwit School 2 when the motorbike, speeding along the New Industrial Road past the school, failed to slow down and collided with the rear wheels of the truck. Miraculously, the motorcyclist hit the truck’s tyre with his body side on, avoided going under the wheels and narrowly missed being crushed. The rider was able to stand and inspect his bike, though he sustained a cut on his chin. Emergency responders confirmed that the trailer driver managed to brake in time, preventing further injuries. Mr. Chalongsak, a 47-year-old shop owner near the intersection, shared his concerns about the area’s dangers: “I heard the crash but didn’t go outside as I was attending to customers. Accidents happen here often because the school wall blocks visibility. Although there are stop signs and road markings, drivers rarely follow them. Everyone needs to slow down and obey the rules to prevent accidents. This marks the 45th dugong carcass found in the Andaman Sea this year. On December 30, the Lower Andaman Sea Marine Resources Research Centre received a report from Mr. Sitthichai Bo Mamuang, the village head of Ban Bo Mamuang, who informed them that locals had found the dugong carcass on December 29 near the pier in Moo 4, Sai Khao Subdistrict, Khlong Thom District, Krabi. Preliminary examinations revealed that the carcass belonged to a male dugong measuring 200 cm in length and weighing approximately 100 kg. The animal was not yet fully grown and appeared malnourished. The body was classified as fresh, with barnacles covering its surface and bite marks consistent with natural dugong herd behaviour. No significant injuries or fishing-related wounds were found. This discovery is the third dugong carcass reported in the last four days. On December 26, the Lower Andaman Sea Marine and Coastal Resources Research Centre was informed by officials from the Navy’s Marine Security Unit (NRPT) stationed on Koh Lanta Noi about another juvenile male dugong washed ashore near Koh Po Pier in Moo 4, Koh Lanta Yai Subdistrict, Koh Lanta District, Krabi. That dugong was found in fresh condition, with its body in normal condition but similarly covered in barnacles and showing bite marks from herd behaviour. On the same day, another male juvenile dugong was found washed ashore at Ban Lo Yai Beach in Koh Lanta Noi Subdistrict, Koh Lanta District, Krabi. However, this carcass was in a decomposed state. Both carcasses showed no significant injuries or evidence of fishing gear-related wounds. The incident involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle, resulting in one death and one injury. Police officers, led by Pol. Col. Supachai Viboon Suksan, and rescue personnel arrived at the scene to find a red Honda motorcycle lying in the middle of the road with damage to its rear. The crash claimed the life of 25-year-old Ms. Aye Aye Khaing, a Myanmar national. Another Myanmar national, 28-year-old Mr. Nyein Myint, sustained minor injuries, including abrasions, and was visibly shaken. Nearby, a grey Toyota Yaris was found parked in the far-right lane with front-end damage, including a crushed bonnet and a shattered windshield. The incident occurred on the evening of 23rd December, when Mr Somsak, a former provincial agricultural officer, drove under the influence and ploughed into a crowd outside Ban Don Kwang School in Hua Talay Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima. The crash left 11 people injured, including students, parents, and vendors, and claimed the life of Police Sub-Lieutenant Wimutt Tansupho, a traffic officer with the Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Police Station. The victim was found lifeless in the middle of the road, with severe head injuries, multiple fractures, and wounds across his body. The service took place in their office room, where several valuable items were kept on a desk, including a digital camera, lenses, and computer equipment. One technician remained inside the room while the other worked outside. Ms. Wanida recalled that the technician outside entered the room briefly to take out a trash bag. The cleaning process finished without incident, and no one suspected anything was amiss at the time. However, when Mr. Demoulin later attempted to use his camera, he found it missing. Upon reviewing the security footage, the couple saw the technician outside the room passing a brown shoulder bag to the other technician, acting nervously and trying to avoid the camera’s view.
