  1. From this site the UK consular team report for February 2024, “In February, 95,922 British travellers entered Thailand, a 16% decrease from the previous month. Bangkok Consular team dealt with 133 new cases. Death and welfare contributed to more than 70% of this number, including 16 road traffic accidents. We also dealt with some arrests and detentions relating to fraudulent activity and assaults” For the release of a body, for a UK citizen, the hospital and police require a embassy letter. When I have help others, it has always been dealt with by just a simple email and copy of passport, etc. and a returned phone call from the embassy, so I assume those are included in the recorded figures. Went to the mortuary at Bang Lamung government hospital, Pattaya, last month to help a friend and the notice board outside listed 11 non thai names (bodies) so seems a common occurrence.
  2. It would appear that this is just phase 1 of the 3 phase plan under the RTAF Symposium 2024 White Paper, submitted to the government. https://www.asianmilitaryreview.com/2024/03/the-royal-thai-air-force-unveils-strategic-procurement-plans/
  3. David Calhoun it is recorded, has made about $63 million over the past three years, as CEO, which includes a $1.4 million base salary, plus millions in stock-based incentives. Also remember he was a Boeing board member, starting in 2009, before becoming CEO. The final golden handshake is still being calculated. https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/26/investing/boeing-ceo-millions-nightcap/index.html
  4. Seems it was the CEOs of the American airlines, big Boeing customers, that forced the changes, meeting and talking behind the back of the Boeing CEO David Calhoun. https://theaircurrent.com/industry-strategy/boeing-csuite-changes-calhoun-deal-kellner-pope/
  5. I fully understand your post, but are you telling me you are the only in CM using this bank? I don’t lack critical thinking, nor do I lack manner, unlike yourself it seems. Sorry and I will try to put this politely, you came here and asked a question and for help, then all you have done in response is moan, complain, not listen and abuse other posters. If you removed that massive chip off your shoulder, you may find the situation, but with your clearly displayed PITA attitude, you are going to get little sympathy and why would anyone want to help, when you are just going to jump down their throats. Bye and have a good day, which I doubt is possible for someone like you.
  6. My link of requirements was from starting at the CM immigration website. You still never answered where you got that slip of paper ( it does not say it is a police order) and how old it is. Seems strange that there are not others from CM reporting the same problem, I am out of the conversation, as your posts show that you believe only your view is right, you seem unwilling to listen to anyone else. Bye and hope you sort it.
  7. Not sure if that is the police order, seems to be a list handed out by immigration, how old is that paperwork? Please find attached the up to date immigration requirements for retirement, 2023, from the immigration website. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/เอกสาร-7-6.-NON-O-รายการเอกสารขออยู่ต่อใช้ชีวิตบั้นปลาย-TH-EN.pdf
  8. Agree. There are currently only 19 of the DOA's (Department of Airports) 29 current airports that have scheduled commercial air services, while the rest either only have a handful of flights each week or no commercial flights. The airports I believe, with no scheduled flights are Tak, Nakhon Ratchasimi, Pattani, Petchabun, Pai, Mae Sariang, Uttaradit and Betong. AOT (Airports of Thailands) operates 6 airports, Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, Phuket International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Hat Yai International Airport and Chiang Rai International Airport. U- Tapao Airport is operated by RTN (Royal Thai Navy)
  9. I was only repeating government statements/dreams, I can not really see it happening as AOT (Airports of Thailand) have always said it does not have any plan to transfer the business of U-Tapao International Airport, from the RTN to AOT, and hence it would be competition to AOTs big money earning Bangkok airports.
  10. In 2023 the government approved that the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand (Aerothai) could carry out a project worth 1.25 billion baht that would upgrade air navigation services at U-Tapao, to ensure that the airport, which is being planned to be developed as a third major commercial airport, with said project to be completed by 2025. The Transport Ministry also hopes are that air traffic at U-Tapao airport in 2048 will grow to about 241,100 flights a year, (70 million passengers) under a plan by the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and Eastern Special Development Zone Policy (EEC), draft details from 2020 attached, to show the dream. https://www.aiib.org/en/projects/details/2022/_download/thailand/P000575_Thailand-U-Tapao-International-Airport-Expansion-Project-EHIA-Chapter-2-English.pdf
  11. Normally for an extension of stay you need the following; Bank letter attesting to name and account number for the bank account – dated on the day of application or, if applying early in the morning, the previous day, nothing to do with verify seasoning period. A bank statement for 12 months or a photo copy of bank passbook page(s) (if using fixed deposit account) that show the following: (may differ from IO to IO.) o At least 800,000 baht for 2 preceding months. o At least 800,000 baht for the 3 months after date of last application. o At least 400,000 baht for the remaining 7 months.
  12. Last week, 19 March, the FBI send letter to the Alaska Airlines passengers, telling them they may be victims of a crime. The FBI and Justice Department will have to determine if or what crimes were committed. That letter was sent by a victim support specialist at the FBI’s Seattle office and was shared with The Seattle Times by a passenger, as well as an attorney representing several passengers on board, see below. “As a Victim Specialist with the Seattle Division, I’m contacting you because we have identified you as a possible victim of a crime,” “This case is currently under investigation by the FBI. A criminal investigation can be a lengthy undertaking, and for several reasons, we cannot tell you about its progress at this time.” https://www.seattletimes.com/business/fbi-to-alaska-airlines-flight-1282-passengers-you-may-be-a-crime-victim/#:~:text=The agency sent a letter,as the plane left Portland.
  13. The number of female pilots in US passes 5% in 2023. https://www.flyingmag.com/insights-number-of-female-u-s-pilots-at-all-time-high/
  14. Thank you for proving my point, by posting more total nonsense, can you provide some links to these lowering of standards. Sorry, but I know you will find this difficult to understand, but pilot standards and training, is issued in guidance from IATA (The International Air Transport Association) and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation). Pilot licensing is then dealt with by the countries aviation regulator, CAAT(Thailand), CAA(UK), FAA (USA), EASA (EU),etc. There is no lowering of standards, the standards are the same for all, but that will not meet your perceived insecure agenda.
  15. Sorry, but you have not explained why you think he is useless as Tranportation Secretary, can you please provide some links to the problems you perceive, and please not just Fox and its Iridophobia.
  16. Following the same plan and reaction as after the 737 Max crashes in 2018 and 2019. Boeing hired David Calhoun, in 2020, to fix the problems and right the ship and help return the plane maker to its engineering roots. The only problem being was that David Calhoun was trained as an accountant and has no engineering background. Hopefully this time Boeing will be held accountable, and not be protected from prosecution, as under the last US administration, when federal prosecutors entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the company, from the previous those max incidents/accidents. https://www.texastribune.org/2023/02/13/boeing-prosecution-737-crashes/
  17. It was last used as a commercial airport in 1997, so I wonder how much of it, if any, has been maintained, is up to date or even usable now. I would suggest that most of my list will either be needed, updated or replaced, before The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) could issue a operating licence or Public Aerodrome Operating Certificate (PAOC). The airport in 1997 would have been certified by the Department of Commercial Aviation, which was renamed the Department of Air Transport in 2002, before becoming the Department of Civil Aviation in 2009, and In October 2015, as part of restructuring in response to the ICAO's (International Civil Aviation Organisation) downgrading of Thailand's aviation safety rating, the DCA was split into two separate entities, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and the Department of Airports (DOA). The standards to be meet will be “Designing and Constructing Aerodromes” standards B.E.2556 and the “Aerodromes Manual Standard B.E.2013“ The application for a licence under ministerial regulations “The Application for and issuance of an Aerodrome Establishment licence” B.E.2550. All these are only available in Thai. https://www.caat.or.th/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/กฎกระทรวงว่าด้วยการขอและการออกใบอนุญาตจัดตั้งสนามบิน.pdf https://www.caat.or.th/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/ประกาศกรมการบินพลเรือน-มาตรฐานการออกแบบและการก่อสร้างสนามบิน.pdf https://www.caat.or.th/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/ระเบียบกรมการบินพลเรือน-ว่าด้วยมาตรฐานของคู่มือการดำเนินงานสนามบินสาธารณะ.pdf
  18. Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun to step down; board chair and commercial airplane head replaced in wake of 737 Max crisis. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/25/boeing-ceo-board-chair-commercial-head-out-737-max-crisis.html Some airlines are still not yet even considering dropping Boeing, “Virgin Australia considers switching orders from 737 MAX 10 to 737 MAX 8s” https://www.aerotime.aero/articles/virgin-australia-737-order-switch
  19. What could ever go wrong. A city which already has an airport, but no airlines find it commercially viable, but are expected to find the passengers as the military airport is closer. 19 of DOA's (Department of Airports) 29 current airports have scheduled air commercial services, while the rest either only have a handful of flights each week or no commercial flights. The airports with no scheduled flights are Tak, Nakhon Ratchasimi, Pattani, Petchabun, Pai, Mae Sariang, Uttaradit and Betong. Wonder if it was ever considered what would be need to upgrade to commercial use, from military use? Here is a very basic starting list.. 1. Check-in and Baggage Handling. 2. Security Screening. 3. Boarding apparatus for different types of aircraft. 4. Gate Management. 5. Passenger Amenities. 6. Arrivals, car parking, local transport services. 7. Baggage Claim. 8. Ground Transportation to terminals. 9. Terminal Buildings/facilities. 10. ATC (air traffic control) abilities. 11. Suitable all weather landing systems. 12. Aircraft maintenance facilities. 13. Aircraft refuelling. 14. Airport ARFF (aircraft rescue and fire fighting) 15. Airside, markings, lighting, inspections. etc.etc.
  20. This from the RAAF, will trigger a few insecure posters, that seem to be intimidated by females doing professional aviation roles. https://australianairpowertoday.com.au/female-aviators-take-the-lead/
  21. Here is an alternative view, which supports the needs for the triple lock, and some history of why it was brought in. “This briefing sets out the background to State Pension increases and why we need to at least keep the ‘triple lock’ to protect future generations as well as current pensioners.” https://www.unison.org.uk/content/uploads/2023/12/Briefing-Uprating-of-the-state-pension.pdf
  22. Really? You do understand that the FAA only regulates the USA airspace and there is a lot bigger world outside of that. The OP linked to a video, that shows pilots from GOL, a Brazilian airline, under Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), but lets not let facts get in the way of your views. Please expand on why you dislike Pete Buttigieg, be fully honest.
  23. So you choose to defend drink driving, because you claim Thai’s never get stopped, so it must be ok for everyone! Just another ill informed Thai bashing troll Bye 🤡
  24. I think the poster is getting confused with the requirements of Section 12 and 13 of the Act, but these only apply when entering the country .I could be wrong and open to be educated on what section applies to not having a passport, is covered in the immigration act..
