  1. KorRor 2 and KorRor 22 are very different documents. KorRor 2 is the registration of a marriage in Thailand, if you get divorced in Thailand, it will show on the Thai system. This is done automatically by the Amphur data input. KorRor 22 is the family status registration and is used to confirm that the legal marriage outside Thailand, is on the system. Foreign marriages are not automatically registered and you have to verify documents and register it yourself. A foreign marriage, may require a foreign divorce, depending on the countries regulations, and again is not automatically registered in the Thai system.
  2. A friend sent me this clip, after discussing the accident. For those that never experienced it, this is what it is like when busy. Remember this goes on for 24 hours a day. RPReplay_Final1709371447.mov
  3. Yes as I said no consistency. Been at the same address over 4 years, in and out many times, never had a single issue until extension 5 months ago. Given no choice other than to go back outside and do a new TM30 or no extension. Original TM30 was done online and printed off. Maybe caught them on a bad day, or as I went at 13.00, maybe did not want to do that day and wanted me to come back in the morning. I now have a nice office issued TM30 stapled in my passport, and there was no fine. Wonder what to expect this year, as been in and out on re-entry twice so far.
  4. Very good summary, seems to get busier every year. Been up a few times, even walked all the way from the bottom once.
  5. This shows the route, after a drop of rain. RPReplay_Final1709334583.mov
  6. 55555 So just another anti telephone rant, with no response to any of the points I raised. It is funny that you seem to really think, that by just turning your phone on for less than one hour a day, makes you a better person. You also seem to be a technophobe that wants to dictate how others live, work, communicate and enjoy themself. Your posts have done nothing to identify any realistic, suitable or cost effective solutions to the issues and problems discussed in the thread, but that would take critical thinking and understanding, not just stating that because you don’t have/need to use your phone, so no problem for all technology to be banned, for everyone.
  7. Rules and regulations are flexible and always open to interpretation in Thailand, and most of SE Asia. Plus discretion and the need for extra documents/info/procedures are always in the guidelines, allowing each office to decide. If we don’t like the rules/regulations, then we moan, but if the rules can be bent in our favour, which often happens, we happy to accept.
  8. Sorry, I am not a mind reader, so found it unclear. I did also say I had left the country and returned from overseas, and Jomtien wanted a new TM30, before doing my extension, that was 5 months ago. I did state that the notice I posted was from the Pattaya expats club, and they do discuss things with immigration, they claim. Yes heresy, but about the same as every post on this forum. Jomtien requirements are often inconsistent, so someone’s experience can be different from anyone else.
  9. Most airlines have guidance and policies for passengers who need special assistance, this is not unique to Thai VietJet. The UK CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) states the following guidance. “Airline staff are not expected to assist passengers with activities such as eating, drinking, taking medication or using the toilet facilities. If you require assistance of this kind you may need to travel with a carer.” One example is Air France, who tell passengers with disabilities to check if they can fly on their own. “For your safety, please check to see if you need to travel with a companion and if you need medical clearance.” https://wwws.airfrance.co.th/information/passagers/acheter-billet-avion-pmr-autres-handicaps/pmr-accompagnateur
  10. This transport is just bench seats on the.back of a pick up truck. The route is a steep dirt road up and down the mountain. Passengers in the back have no protection in an accident. The mountain is only open about 12 weeks a year, and the transport up and down is 24 hours a day. Once you are dropped off at the top, it is still a hard 30 - 45 minute walk to the shrine. There are accidents every year, but the mountain is still vary popular and gets very busy, with possible waits of a few hours to get on one of the trucks, at the busier times.
  11. Can see why these two ex PMs, as it was their governments that produced MOU 44, wanted to discuss the overlapping claims, as lots for future revenue is at stake. These two former leaders maybe are still really pulling the strings behind both governments. MOU 44 was signed in 2001, and has not moved forward much such, but the initial different boundary claims were made in 1972 (Cambodia) and 1973 (Thailand). It seems that both MOU 44 and MOU 43, before it, did not go through the parliamentary approval process but were issued under the authoritarian powers of both the governments. Many have since claimed that MOU 44 has little legal standing and is unconstitutional. It may also go against the rule of law and contradicts the Convention of 1904 and the Treaty of 1907. The actual overlapping claim area is a 27,000 sq kms and estimates have suggested the area potentially contains up to 11 trillion cubic feet of natural gas as well as large quantities of condensate and oil. https://www.austchamthailand.com/thailand-cambodia-overlapping-claims-area-is-a-settlement-in-sight/
  12. Seems the airline are very open, on their website, about the policies and limits for those that need “special assistance”, but that does not make things right and is not exactly good PR. https://th.vietjetair.com/page/special-assistance
  13. FAA giving Boring 90 days to improve quality control after the 737 Max 9 door plug incident. ://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/faa-tells-boeing-come-up-with-plan-90-days-fix-quality-issues-2024-02-28/ https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/updates-grounding-boeing-737-9-max-aircraft
  14. From the parliamentary website, showing their limited standing. “All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups that have no official status within Parliament. They are run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities” There is currently about 800 APPGs, and the full list in the link below. https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmallparty/240124/register-240124.pdf
  15. Remember the no upgrades started in 1948 and have been the same since then. Before 1955, if you moved to Thailand you got nothing. The no upgrades is a long standing policy of governments, of both Conservative, Labour and Liberal when in the coalition, and I am realistic to accept that I will not see it changing, as there is not the political will or public support for any change. What ever anyone feeling on many situations in the UK, they have little or no bearing on frozen pension policy. Best not to worry about it, as it is only you that will get stressed.
  16. Don’t disagree, but sometimes it is the luck of the draw. The only consistency is their inconsistency at times at Jomtien. I did my extension, October last year, same address for a few years, TM30 done online after returning from overseas, still had to go to the outside counter and do a new TM30 before they would accept my application. Had 2 friends do 30 day extensions from visa exempt entries in January. All done through an agent, just turn up for picture, 5 minutes and 4000 baht, but agent wanted a copy of TM30 from hotel. No right or wrong, as the goal posts move so often. 55555
  17. Here is the report of the 2020 inquiry. http://frozenbritishpensions.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Frozen-Pensions-APPG-1.pdf The only government response, i could find was from Baroness Stedman-Scott. https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2020-12-17/HL11595 The full details of the All Party Parliamentary Group is on this link. http://frozenbritishpensions.org/
  18. Sorry I have no idea what your post is about, as it is not clear what your asking. The Pattaya expat website says if you return from overseas Jomtien, require a new TM30, regardless of situation. My example was, I never did a TM30 after returning from overseas, but was told to do a new one before I could my extension, still at same address.
  19. At no time, did I saw that the law is fair, I just gave the legal background to why it is there. I am also realistic, to understand, that there is zero political will to unfreeze pensions abroad. Since that first up grade in 1948, the same agreement and response have been used by every government. Many entries in Hansard shows the continued opposition to changing this issue. This is a parliamentary response by Baroness Stedman-Scott on 5 January 2021 “The Government has not made an assessment of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Frozen British Pensions 2020 inquiry or its findings. The UK State Pension is payable worldwide to those who meet the qualifying conditions. It is up-rated where there is a legal requirement to do so, for example, where recipients are living in countries where there is a reciprocal agreement that provides for up-rating. The Government has no plans to change the policy on up-rating UK State Pensions overseas; the policy is longstanding and has been supported by successive Governments for over 70 years. The Government understands that people move abroad for many reasons and that this can have an impact on their finances. However, the decision to move abroad remains a personal choice. “ Legal challenges, April 2002, Annette Carson, a UK pensioner overseas, challenged the policy of frozen pensions in the English High Court under the Human Rights Act 1998, but the court ruled against. The decision was appealed Court of Appeal (2003) failed, Appeal to the House of Lords (2005) failed, Appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (2008) failed, Referral to the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights then voted by eleven votes to six in 2010, that there had been no discrimination, in the frozen pension policy.
  20. Plan of what is proposed.
  21. It is any device, which contains a Li-ion battery, that also includes when such device is turned off. The problem is when a Li-ion battery cell creates more heat than it can effectively disperse, which may lead to a rapid uncontrolled release of heat energy, ‘thermal runaway’, and can result in a fire. Thermal runaway can be caused by many things, an internal short circuit, ’lithium plating’ , mechanical damage (such as being dropped), exposure to heat from an external source or overcharging/over-discharging. These types of fires are still a low probability occurrences , but can have a high consequential effects. The quality of the device, and hence battery in it, will increase the risks.
  22. Sorry but I was not repeating nonsense, but quoted what a government source stated (even linked it). I also think I have posted far more facts, links and info in the thread, than just ranting and claiming others are talking nonsense.. I do not care what you tell the DWP, as it up to you, and does not and never will effect me. No they are not going to extradite anyone, but if you are fined and have to pay back the overpayment, they will just stop the pension payments. You seem to need the yearly increase, and even winter allowance, so would a prolonged stoppage not affect your way off life. You seem to think your are untouchable on this issue and I hope that confidence is justified. Claiming that jail is not bad, is the real nonsense, and maybe reflects your real character.
  23. The legality of the rule, dates back to the history of the state pension. 1925 - Contributory pensions are first introduced and only payable in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Isle Of Man. 1927 - The Contributory Pension Act 1929 Which allowed pensions to be paid in HM’s Dominions 1946 - The National Insurance Act 1946 Regulations which contained a provision for disqualification for payments of benefits abroad. 1948 - The pension is first increased, but these increases are not paid to people abroad. 1955 - The National Insurance(residence and persons abroad) Regulations ,which allowed the pension to be payable anywhere in the world, but not uprated. These provisions have been carried over in all new acts and regulations since, and it is only where there is negotiated reciprocal agreements in place, that allows for uprating
  24. This is posted on the Pattaya Expats site, and they try to keep up with current trends at Jomtien office. I have not done one recently, but about 5 months ago, had to file a new one for my extension. Had not changed address, but had been out of country. .
  25. The DDPM (Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Ministry of Interior.), produces many safety leaflets, videos and guidance, so why no local authorities not use these, or is it about get their names in the media.
