  1. I've raised this point a few times, including with the Mayor.

Under international Maritime Law, which rules apply under Thai Maritime Law, your are required to hold a sufficiently acquired boat/vessel license in order to operate any vessel and/or water craft that is capable of speeds in excess of 5 knots.

You are also required to power down any boat and or water craft to less than 5 knots within 100m of swimmers.

So to stop all this is simple, they need to enforce this law which does not permit a vessel to be operated without a license. Same as police on roads stopping and fining people for not having a license the same could apply here and as such the owners would also be breaking the law by renting them out to unlicensed operators.

It is also almost impossible for a foreigner to obtain a license to operate a Thai Registered vessel as due to Nationalistic laws, this privilege is reserved for Thai Nationals.

  2. I tried to find the Legal section of TV on the iPhone App but it doesn't seem to be listed so I will post this in my local thread.

I am aware of the personal implications of being a Managing Director of my own company in Thailand, but I have been asked to become the MD of a large foreign company that is setting up in Thailand, so are there any personal liabilities and/or implications I may not be aware of that could come back to bite me if something went astray in the future?

  3. I guess the Op needs to look upon what a good pie is depending on which country he comes from as the pie filling in Australian style pies is different to that of English style pies.

When I left school I did my apprenticeship as a butcher and our shop used to make the filling for a few local pie shops and it certainly is a different filling to that of what's in English pies, this includes the cubing of the meat or the coarseness of the mince used.

  4. Lady Pies produced by an Australian lady in Phuket which are available in a few places around town including Villa.

After living here so long they are the only ones we have found made the Aussie way, most others seem to be made completely different in terms of their fillings.

  5. None of us like moldy bread; however, a bit of peniciulum mold won't make a person sick. (By the way, the floor in the photo does not look like Carls Junior at Central.)

I suggest you take the photo with you and compare it to the floor behind the counter area where the staff serve.

  6. The green mould covered burger we had there last week...

That's bad but why did you accept it (and eat it) when you could see the mold?

We didn't notice it until my son had eaten a good part of it then we took it off him and complained to the manager and got the usual blank look.

I wrote to the USA office told them my young boy ate it and some moulds can make you sick and on two separate emails not once did they ask if my boy was ok - more interested in their image.

  7. Ok had a look, but not much to report. The Cali wow sign is flashing for the first time in weeks. There are some lights on the outside of the building that are not normally on.

Inside the shutter is still down, the front desk is coated in dust and there are some lights on in the lobby area.

No idea what is happening, but they have got power to the building unlike before...

This should be CAWOW's new slogan: The light's are on but nobody's here!!!! biggrin.png

Can you imagine the shock and horror if they reopen again. I'll be down there in a shot to pay my 700 baht monthly fee... (which will really upset the moralists on here).

I agree with you.If the electric was turned on than probably something has changed as a result of the court meeting from last Wednesday, and we only can hope that there is a reopening soon.

It sounds very quiet from the Seadoo side, don't you think?

    I'm overseas on business

  8. Hmmm ok, I want to connect an external hard drive I have Seagate 3TB which has its own power supply to the back of the True Visions box to record shows can this be done simply plugging into the USB port instead of the Sata ports?
