Expats in Thailand urged not to worry about negative income tax
hunkidori replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think you need to have a good hard think. Almost every retiree I know in Thailand uses an agent to facilitate their extension of stay. Not one of them has 800,000 in a Thai bank. I'm guessing the number of expats using an agent runs into the thousands. Do you think immigration will want to lose this source of income? No they won't, in fact if and that's a massive if these tax proposals ever become law, immigration and the agents will find a way around it, for a fee of course. -
Expats in Thailand urged not to worry about negative income tax
hunkidori replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And yet all the scaremongers amongst us would have us all believe we were to be taxed for this and need to declare that. What a load of crap, I've thought all along it will all come to nothing and I still do. We all know why some of the self proclaimed experts would have us believe the nonsense. Wouldn't trust any of them. -
Most of the Iceland stuff and Greggs is cheaper at Villa than Siamburi's so they're obviously marking the profits up a bit steeply. You could almost suggest he's ripping folk off. Part of what they were pulled by the FDA for I believe was buying frozen fruit and veg from Makro in kilo packs for say 89 Baht and then re-packing them in half kilo packs then selling them on to gullible punters for the same price. Good work if you can get it. I only rarely go there these days if I see they have a once in a blue moon bargain, as in my opinion since the current owner took over those are few and far between.

American father reunites with Thai daughter after 48 years apart
hunkidori replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
How is this guy the father? He's not. He was getting his leg over with the child's mother for a year after the real father disappeared and whilst doing so enjoyed helping to take care of a cute baby. That's it. Why he has appeared after 48 years and why the girl wants to see him is slightly puzzling. The cynic in me...... -

I think if you can give them an address that you have an association with like a bank account and are still registered at a doctor's surgery then I can't see too many questions being asked. No need to volunteer information that is not asked for

Pattaya Residents Protest Motorcycle Rentals Taking Over Parking Spaces
hunkidori replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I always got the feeling that some of those motorbike rental places were run by the police or people very close to them and so did what they liked. It would never be a good idea to try and park too near them or in one of the spaces they believed to be theirs
