Drive (a bar girl) from Pattaya to Burriam. Help.
ModdaPunk replied to advancebooking's topic in Pattaya
Wait until you're in Pattaya, pick up the girl and ask her to set up your Google Maps. -
You're absolutely right. Hyper-socialization (or whatever it's called), is a cancer of the mind. I'm just like you. I don't use social media apps. This forum is about the only online place I post on.

What you call "fluid interpersonal boundries" seems to be a component of the broader concept of empathy. We are all like that, at least to a degree. I would say it's part of being a social animal. I don't know about prisons but in Thailand "fluid interpersonal boundries" seems to be nurtured by the culture. Thai society - at least in its traditional form - emphasizes the importance of collectivism and nationalism. The "what happens to one of us happens to all of us" mentality probably emerges from the kind of education people get here. Would be interesting to try and find out if young people are as fluid as their elders. Now for the link between the concept of "fluid interpersonal boundries" and being confused and impatient, I don't know what to say. To be honest this hypothesis would require some serious investigation and testing. My guess would be that it's probably more complicated than that with multiple factors at play - some biological (like brain chemistry), some cultural (like education) and other psychological (like life experiences or traumas). I think our species was more or less forced to operate this way. For thousands of years, we relied on each other for our survival and so the idea that "today you share my burden and tomorrow I'll share yours" is probably part of the many strategies that we've developed to last as long as possible. At the end of the day "fluid interpersonal boundries" might be something that you find in every environment where humans struggle due to poverty, violence, etc... Surviving prisons without friends for example might be harder. Just my 2 cents on this :))

I agree with you 100%. If you can afford it, don't buy it. Very healthy indeed. -
Trump vs. Taylor Swift: A Battle He’s Bound to Lose
ModdaPunk replied to Social Media's topic in World News

Trump vs. Taylor Swift: A Battle He’s Bound to Lose
ModdaPunk replied to Social Media's topic in World News
A singer for teenagers. Pleaaase.... lol I'm wondering why Trump even bothers with this garbage of an artist. What is it gonna be tomorrow? I hate Star Wars The Acolyte? Come on, man... -
In other words, run along.

Show some respect and read what I wrote before asking dumb questions. Thanks

To be fair, Thailand is pretty chill on visas. I've been coming and going for a couple of years without visa: no problem. It's almost like there ain't any border for foreigners. 2-3 months in Thailand, 2-3 months in Vietnam; you can do that without visa forever really. Maybe it's different for an expat but as a "professional drifter" or "dharma bum", it's pretty easy life.

Yeah, yeah, tough guy. Whatever you say...
-
Oh yeah right... Intimidated by what exactly ? Your lame comment about Trump's vocabulary ? Give me a break, tough guy :D
-
I don't care about your post history. Who do you think you are exactly ? :D :D Of course you are insecure. You post garbage and you antagonize people to assert your masculinity. Don't worry, tough guy. I don't mind. The "political soapbox" forum has been created for people like you.
-
Whatever tough guy. Hope you'll be successful dealing with your insecurities.

And Kamala Harris laughs like a 5 yo. What's your point exactly ?

- No more tips - Less Grab, more walking - No more bars and restaurants - Basic accommodation always - More time spent on the internet (reading, downloading, chatting, gaming...) - More street food (night markets, food stalls, etc...) - More water, less soda - No more Starbucks, Café Amazon, etc... (coffee is ok when you buy it from street vendors) - No more unnecessary trips (especially to overpriced touristy places #ByeByeSouthThailand) - More time spent in Vietnam (3 months rather than 90 days) - More bargain hunting on Lazada and thrift shops - No Thai "girlfriend" - Always on the lookout for off-the-beaten-path opportunities #IsaanRocks - Cheaper mobile plan (went from 20Mbps to 8Mbps - no notable difference honestly) At the end of the day, I probably spend less now than I used to before the baht got stronger :D Disclaimer: I'm European. Few months ago, 1EUR was 40THB. Now it's around 37THB. Not that much of a drop really. But we'll see. If the THB keeps getting stronger I will probably relocate to Vietnam for a while. I'm pretty flexible, no ties whatsoever.

Elections are always stolen these days. It has nothing to do with the process itself but with the constant media propaganda and brainwashing going on before each election. Largely based on guilt and populism by the way. The entire democratic process has been undermined by spin doctors and oligarchs a long time ago. If you think that Trump is a dictator and Harris is Jesus Christ, think again. They are both smart and highly manipulative people pushing a different agenda. Globalism vs nationalism. None of these mobsters care about commoners. It's all about power and control. The system is rotten to the core.

Thailand is a tough country for locals. So they are tough with one another. When you have to deal with a significant load of garbage yourself, you're probably less likely to help others. You're probably right about the influence of Christianity in our behaviours. Could add to that socialist, the wellfare state, the enlightment. But all of these are also rooted in Christianity in a way or another. Westerners should give themselves more credit. We are a great civilisation. Not perfect but we are overall pretty decent people compared to many. You're also right that the reporting is pretty biased.

That's extremely expensive. I got 50Go for 30 days @ 20Mbps for 300thb. Can't remember how much the SIM itself was. Company is called True. I have no use for unlimited calls. Most of the time I'm on the hotel Wifi anyways. 50Go is more than I can use really. 1000+ THB seems super expensive !

Just boycott these shops. This is what I do. If a shop doesn't show prices or lies on the displayed prices, I don't buy. Period. Everybody doesn't that and these practices will fade away.

Now we know where western inflation money is going. We are paying more so that insolvent consumers in the emerging world can keep pushing. Nice! -
