  1. The suspect is a known criminal who has burglarized homes in many different areas.”

Then why wasn't he in jail? Instead he was out burglarizing more homes and killing people... More wonderful police work. Does someone have to get killed before they do their job?

Perhaps there was no reward money promised to solve the burglaries.

I didn't read about any reward offered in the case, but I did read: "Mr Kittikhun, a native of Nakhon Phanom, was wanted on eight previous warrants in theft-related cases, four in the Phuket City Police District and four more in Chalong, said Col Wanchai Palawan of the Phuket Provincial Police."

One would hope being wanted on 8 separate warrants in Phuket and Chalong he would have been arrested before something like this murder could have happen. Funny how fast they found him after the murder. I know, no money in it for the police, so why would they actually do their job... I wonder if he'll be released on bail next...

How long this monkey business will continue in LOS, Land of Sadness ? What they need is a Western juristic administration and system, criminal courts.... Come on UN take it over.... it's becoming time with all that corruption and uncapable government ! clap2.gif

  2. "May be a good idea to find out if it is the right two men first"

Do you really think this matters to the BIB, remember this murder

has the potential to damage Phukets tourist industry. If they are

the murders, I sincerely hope that they are punished to the full

    extent of the law.

Unfortunately it happens too often in TH that police take 2 poor suckers who have nothing to do with that crime... Only to show media they acted very fast..... poor guys ( i mean the 2 "victims" whistling.gif )

  3. As reported by the Brisbane Times... Looks to me like the Aussie media are going to jump all over every crime against tourists.

I will retort what i said in a similar thread. "Australians make up a large % of tourists in Thailand".

The best TAT can come up with in response is.. I doubt it will impact tourism" and Bangkok is #3 destination in the world".

Not exactly humbled by this are they? Maybe an apology to the families of the victims and a reassurance that they are going to do all they can to prevent repeats happening.

Sorry to say, but TAT as so many other official authorities in Thailand = BRAINLESS... whistling.gif ( i wish i could say i'm a kid as they always say the truth...)

  4. oh man, this is not cool, with all the talk about saving face in this country, where's the face in a cowardly act like this? it may not have been Thais, but they were men in Thailand, what the hell is going on here? forget jetski's and scams, this is the stuff tourists are really scared of, being attacked and killed while taking a pleasant walk...dam_n it, after Phi Phi, this one could seal their fate...RIP and condolences to families.

Not according to Thais, listening to 3AW radio streamed from Melbourne they spoke to a spokeswoman from the Phuket hotels association or similar who says that this is an extremely isolated incident and thefts and other crimes in Phuket are very low. They do not believe that an incident such as this will have an impact on tourism.

If that spokes woman tells the opposite ( = the truth ) she gets fired IMMEDIATELY.... whistling.gif

  5. I am shocked deeply, by the thought that outside of LoS, readers can find that the Royal Thai Police could have had, among it's ranks, extortionists. What next? A BiB being found to have murdered someone? This, people, is completely wrong. I mean we all hold the BiB up to our children and give them a goal in life.. Whatever will we do now.. I suppose next, some politicians son, who happens to be a police officer - maybe a Sergeant, will be found to have killed someone in a bar because the victim pointed his foot at him.

Ahhhh Thailand. Where is the minister of culture standing on this?

Replacing some tabloid computers with bra's... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

That really is a good one !!! clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

  6. Actually!!!..........there was a nightclub called Spicy in CM that was rumoured to be police owned. It was a real rough and tumble place, the last haunt for the bar girls trying to get a lift for the night, and open till 6.00am. Fights were common and the place was often packed out. It was closed down by the Military Police, they came in right over the shoulders of the local police and put an end to it.

The original Spicey is still closed down, a new one opened round the corner but it's far more strictly operated.

Maybe that's what's required in Pattaya, Military police involvement. If they put their mind to it they could solve this problem in a few short days.

i DO agree with you ! Get the Military Police to clean the pattaya beaches of...... corrupt police !!!!! i think they will need a whole platoon.... whistling.gif

My friend, these things happened already about "politicians son doing bad things" .... -- are you surprised ?

  8. If it costs Bt 350,000 to pass the police constables' exam, how much does it cost to pass the police generals' exam? How many innocent members of the public does a new cop have to intimidate and extort to recover his cost?

After the dust has settled those caught cheating will be quietly welcomed into the BiB with fast track promotion for showing true police spirit and obvious confidence in their ability to extort money and filter it upwards in the direction of the national police chief and minister in charge.

Again.... nothing else than the TRUTH !!!!

How do those poor suckers (remember, it was up-country) get THREE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND baht !?

  9. The Irony is that the incompetent officials he talks about are all products of the Education system.

I thought they went to school at Oxford.

If you are referring to Abhisit he went to school at Eton and went to University in Oxford. Nothing wrong with his education.

Some people think a doctorate from "Kut and Stick" University is better.

Yingluck, where did she studied... in Fantasy Island Highschool perhaps ?? She doesn't even reach the knees of Abhisit ! i don't say he's a good politician (there are none in Thailand), but he's ooh so much wiser than that puppet on a string ! She belongs in a soap serie... (and not only she...).

  10. The education system has been a failure for quite some time when they started accepting money to admit rich parents students vs those who earned admission into the best schools and universities. Now look what they do with they're time...go to the mall after school and stand around the cell phone stores, read comics, watch cartoons on tv, and update their facebook pages all day. Great job Minister of Education! The administers of these schools that accept bribe money to accept "certain" students should be hung by the balls. Patheticcoffee1.gif

i wish i could help them by that "ball job" ! And not only those administrs, but also all that other scum bag that lives from.... bribe money! So that means 90% of those so called "officials", police etc.... whistling.gif

  11. HMmm, i am speechless and it never happens.

Just the other day, the death toll, according to some papers was higher then previous years, but its a success? because in some provinces there were no REPORTED deaths?!rolleyes.gif

I guess the great thing about every Thai government is that in every failed mission, they always find a positivewai.gif

You took the words right out of my mouth ! do they really keep walking the imbecile path ? i'm not surprised that in parlement also happen such ridiculous things as some young MP was watching nice girls on his smartphone during an important debate/meeting because he had to.... RELAX !! Oh Lord, what will be the next (un)surprising thing in this kingdom full of.... (sorry, i'm not gonna mention what i want to say...). whistling.gifwhistling.gifwhistling.gif

  12. And amazing how big that family seems to be. I heard from at least 10-20 of them in key positions, police chief, Army leaders, MPs, two PMs.

Ability to be politician must be in the genes.

    Three PMs, former-PM Thaksin + former-PM Somchai + PM-Yingluck, unless I'm mistaken ? wai.gif

Clearly a very talented family, nepotism being unthinkable, in Thailand. cool.png

And that former PM with the head like a bull and who has passed away last year, wasn't he a family member of this corrupt family ? whistling.gif

  13. "Many of the victims - 39 - were underage, according to Education Ministry data linking road trauma statistics over the Songkran holiday to students. An inspector-general, Supphakorn Wongprat, said 30,027 minors had been fined or prosecuted among more than 110,000 offenders."

Can this be true? 39 of the 210 killed were underage, or almost 20%, which I assume would include passengers. But then it says 30,027 underage were fined out of 110,000 total, which is almost 30%. You can't be fined for being a passenger, so does this mean 30,027 underage youth were driving without a license? If so, does it suggest that 30% of the people on the roads were/are unlicensed underage drivers?

You bet it's true ! When they not gonna change the habbits here, it will always stay like this. They check the driver, no dr. license ? ok pay a 100-200 baht fee and continue their way... NO, they should take their motorbike and do'nt give it back before they have a license ! That will make sense !!! But again.... TiT cowboy.gif

  14. Helmet, helmet, helmet, always wear a helmet when riding your motorbike whether to quickly nip down to the 7/11 or whether to take a long ride on the highway. The amount of people killed in Thailand becauwe they didn't wear their helmet is staggering.

So if i wear a helmet, i won't get run over by a drunken car driver! People don't die because of not wearing helmets, they die from getting run over and coming off the bike due to the state of the roads or bad riding! angry.png

You are both right, but the intention of tukkytuktuk was OK, actually made sense !

  15. We had a friend come up to Chiang Rai from Bangkok. That meant two trips to the airport and another day of driving around and we did not come across a single policeman or police stop during that time. Many buckets of water and many children standing in the middle of the road but no police. Hopefully they were somewhere doing something more important.

Well my friend, actually they DID ! i was also surprised as i know the bib's habitude.... But i have seen (big) checkpoints at several places. Even there was one where i live that reminded me at the big check points in our western places. i haven't seen before so many police guys at one checkpoint, also very clever the way they were acting, never seen before... again i was totally surprised ! Cars that almost arrived at the place couldn't flee anymore, too late, they closed in everybody, even motorbikes who always used to escape couldn't run anymore. Some of them tried, but the bib's where all over the place.

so i guess that this is the reason that there were less deads than other years. AT LAST some positive action of the government/police ! Bravo clap2.gif
