  1. Is this just my mind playing trick on me or didnt I read that they specifically announced that this was not going to be discussed on Tuesdays session.. Made it 100% clear in statements issued before the meeting that because the proposal wasnt detailed enough this could not be tabled or discussed..

And then they decide.. Yet more about turning..

Lets hear what dates they think this is going to start from then and when to avoid BKK and transit Changi..

Remember this : In a short future, U Tapao (Pattaya) is gonna be very busy as DM cannot handle all the stuf alone anymore !

And let the Airforce drop some bombs on SUV, that will be the best solution to get rid of it...

And the best time to do this is when Toxin's airplane will land there....

Then he will be history and many people (hopefully) will be happy. :o

  2. Hello guys,

I'm still a newbie ; Can anybody tell me what these shortenings mean : WTO (above in the text) and LOS (i already read some times in the forums...). Thanks !

    WTO = World Trade Organization

LOS = Land Of Smiles = Thailand

    Welcome !

    LaoPo

    THANKS LaoPo ! Appreciate !

  3. hi...

i would have thought that most of this was obvious......

Thailand is going nowhere right now and the next elections...... if they are allowed to take place will be critical...Thaksin is still out there and in the shadows...... who ... will democraticaly replace him.... i wonder.....

as for for the military.. prestige is everything.. not only in thailand - and if you dont have grey hair and a suit/uniform - you need not apply.....

Thaksin has not gone... he may well return... and in my opinion it will be better for thailand if he returns.......

since he was overturned we have seen only chaos and protectionism from the " military " government... no this/no that....

let the people speak... they have been silent until now....

    7 months to go....

WTO where ae you...! all the rules are being broken!

    amarka :o

    Hello guys,

I'm still a newbie ; Can anybody tell me what these shortenings mean : WTO (above in the text) and LOS (i already read some times in the forums...). Thanks !

My reply to Amarka : I'm not so sure that it will be better if Thaksin should return.... "Let the people speak" ???? They WERE positive about him, but since those poor guys dedected what Mr Toxin stole from them - and all the other bad things he did to put the country in a grey daylight (for example new airport on Cobra Swamb that had to open very quickly but wasn't ready !!) - I guess that many of them would like to see him in jail, together with all those other corrupt bastards !

If an average person like you and me should do the same bad things like he did, we got already a one way ticket to the Bangkok Hilton ! So why not him and his clan ? Of course, SATANG..... that's what's it all about here !

And chaos has ALWAYS been in Thailand with all this corruption in this beautiful country... What i don't understand about the Thai people : They would go through a fire for their King, so why wouldn't they go through that same fire to punish those corrupt bastards and bring them to Monkey House ? After all the King did NOT condemn the militairy coup in September....

  4. I think it is madness no matter what.

If it is such a huss, and if they want to change the code ,what they did for visa free enrty.

Why not just give a 2 or 3 month visa free to all farangs.A lot of them will extend there holidays.

Like malaysia where you get a 60 or 90 day free stay.A lot of problems finihed ,and what do you think about all the time consuming work the imm has got to do,still bananarepublic over here.I love it don't understand me wrong ,just getting tired too many right now....

Hey mate, can you get in touch with me on //email removed per forum rules - contact by PM to receive - lopburi3// ? I want to chat with you about Malaysian vis... Thanks !

  5. Meanwhile, Transport Minister Theera Haocharoen accompanied Gen Saprang Kalayanamitr, the Council for National Security (CNS) secretary in his behalf as board chairman of the Airports of Thailand, to inspect runways and taxi-ways at the new airport.

Boy do I hate it when you get this kind of spin......The people mentioned above would not know a "good" runway or taxi-way if it bit them in the ass.

I am in the airline buisness....(operations and mainenance) and just a few miles from where I live is LAX. They removed the most southern runway and are re-doing it for the Airbus A 380 due to size and weight.

They remove the earth to almost 3 meters below the surface and start the runway base from here. In the touchdown zones the concrete is over 1.5 meters thick....

The Thais can do what-ever cosmetic stuff they desire, but the problem remains with the foundation to the runway and taxi-ways, and it will take a solid 6 months of excavation to really fix the problem.

Of course TIT, and nobody will ever loose face for the money they pocketed and the junk that was allowed to be built.

Suvarnabhumi has some special problems as the land that was selected was almost swamp, so finding a base to support aircraft weighing 750,000 lbs as they roll over the taxi-ways and runways with only 3 points of contact puts a tremedous force on the tarmac below....They had the money to do it right, and I really wish the military would use a "scorched earth" policy towards those involved in the airport construction. (i.e. Complete confiscation and forfeiture of all family assests of those involve that allowed this type of construction to take place).

    JMHO (of course) :o

I can totally agree with Old Wanderer ! These guys deserve the Bangkok Hilton, and all the money they stole with this corruption, well, give it to the poor Thai people.... It's really a shame for such a beautiful nation, but so many bad and corrupt leaders ! but what can the average Thai guy do about it when this corruption is in ALL high levels in this country ? Correct, NOTHING ! TiT and it will always be......

  6. Hi guys, i'm new here and not native English, so please forgive me for the faults i wrote....

OK, 2 questions, if anybody can help me with this, thanks in advance !

1)When somebody with a Non Immigr O, that he has already for many years being married to a Thai girl (so BEFORE 1/10/06), has to renew his 1-year Visa, is it enough that he goes to a Thai consulate and show the proofs like he did before ?

Meaning the original certificate of marriage and copy of ID of his Thai wife without showing a financial proof ? If NO, what more does he have to show or to prove ?

    2) I still don't understand when somebody can renew his 1 year visa, or when he has to apply for a new one... :D

If somebody with a Non Immigr B has to renew his Visa (or apply for a new one), can he also do this in a Thai consulate by showing a proof/letter of a company that's willing to emply him in Thailand ?

--> Is it still possible to do this in 1 of the neighbouring countries, or better go to Singapore, Indonesia, Australie (Darwin, Perth...) instead of going back all the way to (West) Europe ?

I would apreciate to get some answers to this.... THANKS ! :o

  7. He didn't get ousted for doing allegedly good things, there's no need to include them.

Good things ? What good things ? Example - a murderer or paedophile or bank robber is judged on his "bad" deeds - not whatever "good" he might have done. That's the law in most countries I suppose. The so-called "good" things may be considered mitigating circumstances and may be taken into consideration in sentencing. But "bad" is "bad" surely ? No matter how much "good" may be claimed as well. There's not a balance sheet where "good" and "bad" can be used to cancel each other out. MalcolmL

RIGHT ! He was really bad, and for that he has to be punished ! Don't know HOW ? Go back to the Middle Ages, they didn't even "judge" somebody when he did some bad things, they acted by cutting off his hand when a person stole a bread... I think Toxin stole just a little bit more than a bread, didn't he ? And now these days there are still countries in this civilizised world where they do the same... You really don't want to see him in Thailand (land of the free people) anymore ? Well, act as they do in China and you are rid of him... No mercy on somebody who cheated his Own (poor) people ! :o:D:D

  8. Sorry but there is no Thai consulate in Kota Kinabalu.

Yes sorry. No consulate in KK but short bus/boat/plane ride from KK to Thai consulate in Brunei which is fairly friendly. The easiest way from KK to Brunei is taking a ferry for 4 hours. I remember it being about 50 malaysian ringgits (approx 500 baht each way on ferry) Interesting place to visit also. Cheap flight from BKK on AirAsia to KK.

    Brunei, Royal Thai Embassy

    Lot 25251, Simpang 683

    Jalan Tutong

    Kampong Bunut

    Bandar Seri Begawan BF 1320

    Brunei Darussalam

    Tel: (673 2) 653108 / 9, 653311 (Visa Section)

    Fax: (673 2) 653032

Do you have to apply for a visa for entering Brunei ? If YES, how much do they charge ?

  9. :D that is funny!

what a country this is. I remember the singer "Bert" being sent away for a few years as well.

poor old Thaksin, no country wants him. :D

:o POOR ??? And what about the crimes he committed to his own people ??? If I should be PM, I would send him to the Northpole without 1 Baht !! And NEVER allow him to enter one foot in Thailand anymore...

The day they gonna allow him entering Thailand again, THAT would be asking for trouble !!

  10. The only product which I know the price over 5 years is the bread "made fresh daily since 1982" (i don't know the brand name, it's written in Thai :o ).

It was at 22b on June 2001, and it reached 27b about 5 years later.

    That's a yearly inflation of 4.2% ...

I also remember a few hotel prices, but the prices variations can't be caused only by inflation.

If anyone remembers the prices of something from everyday life, I'd be curious to see what was its evolution on the last 5 years.

    :D Euuuhh.... Maybe the bargirl's fine.... ? :D
