Between insurance companies doing all they can to block claims, to big pharma bleeding healthcare dry, to Obamacare and everything else in between, it's definitely time for someone to shake the tree. Is this guy the right person to do it? I've no idea, time will tell if he gets confirmed. But the status quo is clearly not right.

Khon Kaen Cops Bust Men with 4 Million Meth Pills

Surely barely enough for personal usage only? 😂 -
Yeah! Would be funny to ask it about all of the main world leaders to see how politicised it is. But I won't of course. I might end up transiting one of those countries in the future; I don't fancy an enforced layover.

True. Thankfully not that excited. Just made me laugh. -
Cartoon from a UK Newspaper. Not just Google & Meta. Every American & western company and politician, every western & American tech company and media outlet. Such arrogance. Unless the Chinese App is a piss take…?

This is a joke, right? Trump has been in the WH barely a week! -
Of course I agree with you, but... There are things called preemptive pardons, a certain ex US President recently used them. In this case? The reason I agree with the person who suggested a pardon is the amount of time it could take to clear her own name; she might end up even going through a lengthy court case with the risk of her being found guilty for reasons that would only be conjecture. So? I agree she should get a pardon, a preemptive one, so that she can get on with her life ASAP without the stress of a drawn out investigation and possible court case. Here's but one example from the USA - https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article261741817.html - about 7 months of stress but with a happy ending for her. Here's something from Oz on how difficult it is for women to use self defence as a, well, defence - https://www.anrows.org.au/publication/women-who-kill-abusive-partners-understandings-of-intimate-partner-violence-in-the-context-of-self-defence-key-findings-and-future-directions/ But like I said, I agree with your point.

I compare Trump's whirlwind of executive orders, policy announcements, and dramatic pronouncements with the UK Labour Party's apparent unpreparedness last summer. https://www.politico.eu/article/uk-labour-party-admits-its-not-ready-for-government-yet/ - December 2023 “We’d be <deleted> if there was an election tomorrow,” party officials say https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-68205102 - February 2024, "shadow ministers have been told to submit ideas for the party's manifesto before the end of this week". https://yougov.co.uk/topics/politics/trackers/is-the-labour-party-ready-for-government https://www.economist.com/leaders/2024/09/26/the-sinking-feeling-caused-by-labours-clumsy-start - Sep '24 - Sir Keir Starmer’s personal approval ratings now stand below those of Rishi Sunak. Oh, and then the crazy stuff like winter fuel allowance cuts whilst MPs kept that allowance... -
