We went with a Ford Titanium (4X4) PPV. My sister-in-law drives a Toyota Fortuner (Commander) SUV. Both are seven passenger with a folding third row. The driving/riding experience is much different between PPV (pickup platform) and SUV… PPV has a superior suspension and is excellent on and off road… more of a luxury experience regarding noise, handling, and comfort features- which are too many to list. Both are diesel and get excellent mileage- however, the Titanium has a 2L w/ bi-turbos and delivers more power as needed. The interior cubic space also seems much roomier. After adding a few cosmetic options, ฿1.7 million… I know you had a 1M budget but if you’re going to break it, the Titanium is definitely worth it! (Fortuner was 1.5M in 2022) https://www.ford.co.th/en/showroom/ppvs/ford-everest/titanium-plus/

Big bike forced off road by car on Bangkok highway - video
RethairedJarhead replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
23 years investigating traffic accidents and fatalities in the States. My take: Fault 50-50 (causual) Driver- failed to signal lane change. Rider- unsafe movement for conditions. Many people, assuming the driver never stopped… that information is not available in the clip or this article. Uninformed accusation or withholding information? Ignoring 100% of any blame, the lucky rider finished in the bushes rather than oncoming traffic… wise to change his riding style (and perhaps his underwear)… and driver signal before changing lanes. Bikes have it tougher and require a higher level of situational awareness because at the end of the day, when two objects try to occupy the same space, bikes get the worst of it 99% of the time! -
I love Texas Hold’em- had a weekly game with a group of friends in the US. Great times! I think it’s futile to argue legalities in the land of smiles but rather wise to navigate your way within the culture. Personally, I won’t put my privilege to stay at risk. I’d bet there are other games undetected where there is no harm done and good times had. Supposedly, they’re moving forward with the casino in Pattaya and that’s definitely not the same as a home game- doubt I would partake but I think it will generate jobs and stimulate tourism. The current PM‘s father was a proponent in the past- more than likely that this will happen. By the way, isn’t a lottery gambling? Aren’t there 2 distinct and commonly played lotteries in Thailand? Asking for a friend… Rhetorical yet relevant questions.

Exactly… something stinks! -
How racist is this topic? It takes a special kind of predisposition to think in these terms. Unimpressed and not surprised at the lack of foresight.

First off the title of this post says the passenger made a midair bomb threat as if it were a fact… sorta duped into reading the piece. So it goes on to say the alleged threat was made via mobile phone. Would like to know how that was communicated to the air crew… perhaps an invasion of privacy by another passenger or perhaps poorly trained air crew. Who knows? Surely not the judges, jurors or executioners commenting on this post… extinguish your torches, return your stones to the road and set down your billy clubs… there is nothing to see here. She would not have walked if an actual threat was confirmed. … and there it is: “Despite the gravity of the threat, which turned out to be false, “

Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats

For US citizens there’s the 1996 US - Thailand Tax Treaty… I’m just not seeing how Thailand will side step 91 pages of signed treaty- especially where US pensions and/or savings are concerned. Not gonna’ happen. (If I knew how to insert that newspaper reading, coffee drinking emoji… It would be right here) https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/131/Treaty-Thailand-TE-11-26-1996.pdf -
Where to buy new golf shafts - test and buy
RethairedJarhead replied to TroubleandGrumpy's topic in Golf in Thailand
100% thanks to contributions in this thread, my wife and I ventured ✈️ from Isaan down to Bangkok and explored Thaniya Road. I thought I would add updates to this great knowledge bank! After much googling and reading reviews of different shops in the area, I targeted ’Art of Golf’ on the corner across from the mall entrance because they sell PXGs and do fittings… in spite of bad reviews regarding service! Well the internet is undefeated- don’t waste your time. He charges to hit balls!!! Almost surprised there wasn’t a cover charge at the door- he’s about the money- not service! Although I was thinking Gen6 PXG, the latest Gen7 peaked my interest and would arrive the next morning so we took his contact info with plans on returning the next day… solely based on local supply and demand of PXG- he’s got the goods. So we crossed the street to the shopping center- three floors of ⛳️goods and services- pretty sure I heard the angels singing upon entry😆 As many have commented, 3 floors of equipment- well 2.2, don’t bother with the 3rd floor as it’s mostly empty but you can get to the parking garage if you’re driving. After window shopping the first floor where I spotted Vokey wedges and Ping putters in at least two stores, we headed up the escalator to floor 2 where over my left shoulder I caught site of a PXG logo on one of the stores, ’Eragon Golf’. Warmly greeted in English by a younger looking Thai fella who later turned out to be the owner “Ott”- ERAGON GOLF! Remember the name if you’re looking for new, fitted clubs on any brand. I spent the rest of the afternoon getting *fitted* for PXG Gen7 clubs in stock that very day- hitting bay w/ all the skytrak data, lie measurements, the works! Afterward took 2 hours for the crew to complete my set which included midsize iron/hybrid grips and suggested Jumbomax (Dechambeau) grips on driver 5-wood (I have old fractures in both hands, large grips are comfortable for me). Grabbed lunch nearby and a coffee at Starbucks on the first floor while waiting. Oh don’t let me forget Ott’s interaction with other stores namely ‘Only Golf’ on the first floor- he walked me down and got me a small discount with the manager on three SM10 Vokey wedges. I went to the Ping store on my own to select a putter. He jumbo-gripped the wedges and Superstroke Flatso 3.0 grip on putter at my request. Because we flew down I asked Ott to ship them up- he overnighted them free of charge! He doesn’t do much marketing, based on the foot traffic on that afternoon, he doesn’t need to! Cheers! https://www.google.com/search?client=mobilesearchapp&sca_esv=6d9548a4f6a46582&sca_upv=1&bih=765&biw=375&channel=iss&cs=1&hl=en&rlz=1MDAPLA_enUS818US818&v=331.0.665236494&sxsrf=ADLYWIIthc_kI4pzNOFQGe8NAF3uFNJpww%3A1725526010989&q=Eragon Golf Service&ludocid=15211527174716264577&ibp=gwp%3B0%2C7&gsas=1&lsig=AB86z5V59Hm-gyiu0Q0_i9mph8Da&shndl=-1&shem=lrnolc%2Clsde%2Cvslcea&source=sh%2Fx%2Floc%2Fact%2Fm4%2F3 https://maps.app.goo.gl/DcFRxDT56wK5f6au8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy -
Italian Tourist Locked in Office Over Visa Refund Dispute
RethairedJarhead replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
IAW above comments- I am *absolutely* guilty of using agents😆 Each time the paperwork was correct first time- reputable agents/agencies know how it’s done! If/when the visa-signing officer might be less than scrupulous and ask for a little $omething on top, a good agency will “handle” that request as well… and that’s personal experience. For context- obtained via agency- new ‘retirement’ visa, new ‘marriage’ visa. Agree with others who say to each their own! Additionally, (rhetorical question)- why criticize others choices to meet the requirements of living here… Also agree with comments regarding value of (my) time 100%. -

I’ve worked in aviation maintenance in a past life so the headline caught my eye. Probably was not my best choice of reading material as I wait on my 1 hour Airasia flight from Don Mueang🙂 -
The mere premise of the headlines stinks to high hell. Sorry, not banking on the opinions of good ole boy lawyers. I lived and worked (in government) in the United States under the Trump and Biden administrations and know firsthand that the latter has torn the country down… crapped on democracy and created the mockery that is being witnessed on a global scale… the EU, UK and AU ain't nothing to brag about either. Anyone with a brain who actually performed a little due diligence would know Trump is an American patriot who continues to fight the good fight against the woke-ism that rots from within… all funded by the deep pockets that move toward the Marxist end in all aforementioned locations. On that note, it’s dinner time.
