  1. For US citizens there’s the 1996 US - Thailand Tax Treaty… I’m just not seeing how Thailand will side step 91 pages of signed treaty- especially where US pensions and/or savings are concerned. Not gonna’ happen. (If I knew how to insert that newspaper reading, coffee drinking emoji… It would be right here) https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/131/Treaty-Thailand-TE-11-26-1996.pdf
  2. 100% thanks to contributions in this thread, my wife and I ventured ✈️ from Isaan down to Bangkok and explored Thaniya Road. I thought I would add updates to this great knowledge bank! After much googling and reading reviews of different shops in the area, I targeted ’Art of Golf’ on the corner across from the mall entrance because they sell PXGs and do fittings… in spite of bad reviews regarding service! Well the internet is undefeated- don’t waste your time. He charges to hit balls!!! Almost surprised there wasn’t a cover charge at the door- he’s about the money- not service! Although I was thinking Gen6 PXG, the latest Gen7 peaked my interest and would arrive the next morning so we took his contact info with plans on returning the next day… solely based on local supply and demand of PXG- he’s got the goods. So we crossed the street to the shopping center- three floors of ⛳️goods and services- pretty sure I heard the angels singing upon entry😆 As many have commented, 3 floors of equipment- well 2.2, don’t bother with the 3rd floor as it’s mostly empty but you can get to the parking garage if you’re driving. After window shopping the first floor where I spotted Vokey wedges and Ping putters in at least two stores, we headed up the escalator to floor 2 where over my left shoulder I caught site of a PXG logo on one of the stores, ’Eragon Golf’. Warmly greeted in English by a younger looking Thai fella who later turned out to be the owner “Ott”- ERAGON GOLF! Remember the name if you’re looking for new, fitted clubs on any brand. I spent the rest of the afternoon getting *fitted* for PXG Gen7 clubs in stock that very day- hitting bay w/ all the skytrak data, lie measurements, the works! Afterward took 2 hours for the crew to complete my set which included midsize iron/hybrid grips and suggested Jumbomax (Dechambeau) grips on driver 5-wood (I have old fractures in both hands, large grips are comfortable for me). Grabbed lunch nearby and a coffee at Starbucks on the first floor while waiting. Oh don’t let me forget Ott’s interaction with other stores namely ‘Only Golf’ on the first floor- he walked me down and got me a small discount with the manager on three SM10 Vokey wedges. I went to the Ping store on my own to select a putter. He jumbo-gripped the wedges and Superstroke Flatso 3.0 grip on putter at my request. Because we flew down I asked Ott to ship them up- he overnighted them free of charge! He doesn’t do much marketing, based on the foot traffic on that afternoon, he doesn’t need to! Cheers! https://www.google.com/search?client=mobilesearchapp&sca_esv=6d9548a4f6a46582&sca_upv=1&bih=765&biw=375&channel=iss&cs=1&hl=en&rlz=1MDAPLA_enUS818US818&v=331.0.665236494&sxsrf=ADLYWIIthc_kI4pzNOFQGe8NAF3uFNJpww%3A1725526010989&q=Eragon Golf Service&ludocid=15211527174716264577&ibp=gwp%3B0%2C7&gsas=1&lsig=AB86z5V59Hm-gyiu0Q0_i9mph8Da&shndl=-1&shem=lrnolc%2Clsde%2Cvslcea&source=sh%2Fx%2Floc%2Fact%2Fm4%2F3 https://maps.app.goo.gl/DcFRxDT56wK5f6au8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
  3. Hey buddy I like instant noodles in the free world😆💯#snacks
  4. IAW above comments- I am *absolutely* guilty of using agents😆 Each time the paperwork was correct first time- reputable agents/agencies know how it’s done! If/when the visa-signing officer might be less than scrupulous and ask for a little $omething on top, a good agency will “handle” that request as well… and that’s personal experience. For context- obtained via agency- new ‘retirement’ visa, new ‘marriage’ visa. Agree with others who say to each their own! Additionally, (rhetorical question)- why criticize others choices to meet the requirements of living here… Also agree with comments regarding value of (my) time 100%.
  5. After buying my car- first aftermarket purchase was dash/rear cams! Evidence over argument…
  6. Blind sided me with that… made me giggle out loud😆
  7. I’ve worked in aviation maintenance in a past life so the headline caught my eye. Probably was not my best choice of reading material as I wait on my 1 hour Airasia flight from Don Mueang🙂
  8. The mere premise of the headlines stinks to high hell. Sorry, not banking on the opinions of good ole boy lawyers. I lived and worked (in government) in the United States under the Trump and Biden administrations and know firsthand that the latter has torn the country down… crapped on democracy and created the mockery that is being witnessed on a global scale… the EU, UK and AU ain't nothing to brag about either. Anyone with a brain who actually performed a little due diligence would know Trump is an American patriot who continues to fight the good fight against the woke-ism that rots from within… all funded by the deep pockets that move toward the Marxist end in all aforementioned locations. On that note, it’s dinner time.
  9. Not many positive articles lately… This one’s good though👏
  10. So true! WEF/WHO do NOT have the interests of the people. “Deeper” motives in play…
  11. Took a little competition to put a fire under the sub-par e-commerce in Thailand. Hopefully this will improve the usability and availability of products online here.
  12. E46 has a double lock security feature with a mode where even a double-pull inside won’t open… likely the case here.
  13. Glad he dropped the club for a fair fight. Good left against a dropped guard… Occasionally the pressure valve pops and this is a tame version of what could have been… small beans incident I think.
  14. Sad but true- a topic within itself. I joined this form to read about events in the region and gain insight to fellow expat perspectives. Too often, I have to scroll through heaps of chaff to find solid grains of perspective. Sending a grateful shout out to those that contribute to the forum with civility- cheers🍻
  15. Well said- I’d add the ATF & NSA to that grouping.
  16. Regarding 🇺🇸pricing for Chinese products- agree 100%! Took a chance- first TEMU purchase recently, a Revasri golf rangefinder ฿3400- may as well be no name. It has more features than the $250 Callaway range finder I mistakenly left in the U.S. It’s just as quick/accurate- maybe quicker. Selection on Temu is beyond anything else available in the land of smiles. Much of my life I’ve used online shopping (even once bought a Lincoln Navigator via eBay motors😆). For me, Temu app/website is the next best thing to Amazon-shopping online with respect to ease of use and product availability. Lazada app is less than intuitive with heaps of spam marketing. many things I want or need I cannot even find there. I have purchased several thingamajigs and dohickeys via Lazada- some ship from Thailand, some ship from China… but 99% from China. To that point, China manufactures a lot of big-brand stuff including my Iphone, Nikes and a myriad of products I’ve used over time… aside from “junk“, they do have some know-how to produce a lot of stuff I want/need… like a golf rangefinder! Cheers!
  17. Incorrect - E46 has electric locks. Incorrect- a dead battery offers *no power*… minimal or otherwise. E46 has one battery (no auxiliary).
  18. Definately an E46… should have been able to manually pop the hood and jump. As a German car enthusiast (Benz/Beemer), I’ve owned several throughout the years in the U.S. Wouldn’t buy one here for multiple reasons- support being one of them. Case in point pictured above!
  19. I’ve successfully used WISE to transfer from my US bank to Bangkok Bank dozens of times in the past and have seen a small variance in deposit times, but never experienced an unresolved issue. I have since gone to wire transfers directly from US (Schwab) to BKK Bank as I find it easier to deal with just the two entities. I use fewer transactions in larger amounts with less cost in fees and fewer moving parts of which to keep track.
  20. Screenshot… you beat me to it!!!😆 I’m in for a legalized casino- poker is a great past time!
  21. Here’s a detailed take from a youtuber:
  22. This is my surprised face: 😐 Interestingly enough, the article says they consulted with a Thai firm when making the advertisement. It leaves me to wonder if that consulting firm had the blessing of the government on this project. The U.S. is sensitive to a history of racism in media- be it Black, Asian or Native American. So I am not surprised regarding the Apple apology- if outcries continue snowballing, future lost profits are bad for busine$$. Let us not forget this is about the money. Regarding this advertisement, it’s not difficult to see both sides of the argument. RPReplay_Final1722665300.mov
  23. (In my best John McEnroe impression): You cannot be serious… I’m dead😆 Never mind bro!
  24. I just completed this quiz. My Score 0/100 My Time 137 seconds
