Love to hear where you get 5% net without exchange rate risk. Anyway, I get in Thailand 2.25%, so that makes it only 2.75 difference anymore, and no exchange rate risk. If you look at USD or GBP, your 5% would already be a loss, if only looking at the exchange rate January till today

They could have confirmed this a few days earlier. I gave up on my USD FCD on Monday, because every time I clicked on the XE page I would get less baht for my dollars. Turns out I exchanged at the worst rate of the year (32.11) because since then it only has got better, and the difference with today would have bought me a nice return business class ticket to Europe. BTW I was monitoring the USD/THB trading last night, and it was very obvious that someone was intervening as it was incredibly active.

So do you think that someone who buys a new EV at price X, and next year the same car cost new 20% less, that the second hand value of the 1 year old car is calculated on the price he paid 1 year ago, or the current new price?

Funny? No it is not, foreign currency is transferred to Thailand, and exchanged to Thai baht at the Thai bank. Everyone, except you I guess, know that offers the best exchange rate. Nobody sends Thai baht to Thailand. And you think that tourists bring baht to Thailand to spend here?

Thanks, but not sure what you mean with options. I know how to search for appliances and find the prices. The cheapest I can get a new cell for my zodiac tri large is about 19000 baht, and I have no intention to pay that. This is directly from Australia with an Aussie$ at all-time lows, so I can expect next renewal to probably a lot more. I have searched for cells from other brand chlorinators and they are similar priced, but I don't even think about installing a complete new setup, especially not Emaux which is the cheapest. If there is anything you want share please post it here, so everyone has a use for it.

I have a Zodiac Tri large saltwater chlorinator, for many years, with which I'm pretty satisfied. End of 2016 I purchased a new genuine salt cell from a dealer in Australia, and paid 350 Aussie $ + shipping. Now I want to order another replacement, and price from the same dealer is now 875 Aussie $ (19600 baht) . I looked at other sources, and other brands, and they're same or even more. Is it time to trash my chlorinator and start with adding chlorine instead?

They must have a large trough in the UK as well.
