  1. I've met a few young people along the way. Some rebelling, others needing/wanting money. Everyone has their story. I too.
  2. Using the horn is considered impolite in Thailand, other than a very short toot to attract attention. It's HOT out there. Much cooler for you in your car or on your bike. Show some consideration for the delirious tourists 😇
  3. Perhaps encouraged by others showing their mobile phones etc Are you writing from experience? How about your girl? What pushed her to that work? Genuine question.
  4. You just confirmed that you nearly got run over WALKING. Not riding, but walking. Living carries some risk. Many people fall over in their bathrooms and hurt themselves.
  5. What a lovely person you have turned out to be.
  6. Naah...I see worse here every time I sign in. That one was just an E for Effort.
  7. Yeah...that's what happens. Does the Brit still feel like a winner? It isn't the school playground anymore, with the little girls reporting to teacher. Someone can end you and be out on the street shortly afterwards.
  8. Are these posters the quality tourists that they claim that Thailand needs in place of the Russians, Indians and Chinese? Talking about carrying guns and baseball bats? What sturdy men we have here. Getting to the topic rather than puffed up keyboard warriors praising themselves, the only acceptable reason for the Brit continuing to ride alongside the car, is if the driver caused some damage to himself or his bike. If not, then he was simply asking for trouble. His request was fulfilled. Even if you can take care of yourself, de-escalate. Take note, 'hard men' and keyboard warriors alike.
  9. Yes, you are right.
  10. No, there is not. If you can ride, then you can choose to ride safely. Such cowardice.
  11. Time for me to catch some more Zzzzz. You crazy. 100%.
  12. Keyboard warrior? Why all the talk of violence? Better to de-escalate.
  13. Brit probably brought that attitude with him.
  14. Try taking responsibility for you own behaviour. No one asked you about your ex nor a list of countries suffering from civil strife. Do you feel the need to argue with everything and convince yourself you are right about everything? I already gave my take on what I think happened, from the experience of visiting the area. But yet you feel the need to argue. Why is that? I'm guessing that's why you ex wanted to end you. 😉 Learn how to de-escalate. Take a breath. I'm sure to get another word salad from you about how much you have read and researched. Save it.
  15. Not interested in helping others?
  16. Ratanakorn. If the OP is unable to ride a scooter or bicycle, they are effectively disabled and dependent on others. Even Foodmart might be beyond their capability.
  17. So you've just confirmed that the problem is you, why did we need the word salad? I went there with German and Russian friends. You came to Thailand but don't like Thai people 😊 All just confirming that the problems are all yours. You tried to make it sound as if the problem was Pattaya.
  18. It's about a road rage incident in Pattaya between a foreigner and a Thai. Not to do with violence here, nor your ex or countries with terrorism and insurgencies. I've been to Pattaya, I know the soi. I read the description of how the motorcycle was alongside the car. That would only happen if the rider decided to stay and confront, as he could easily have ridden away from confrontation on that soi, with the car being unable to follow. Whereas you've veered off to posting links about Afghanistan and Burkino Faso... Just nothing to do with the incident nor Pattaya. Why are you even on the Pattaya sub board if you haven't ever stepped foot in the place?
  19. You have the biggest and least expensive wet market in Pattaya nearby, on Thepprasit.
  20. Confirmation bias. I also read lots and whilst some things turned out to be true, some things turned out to be quite different.
  21. What are you into? You've never been there, but seem to think you know everything about it.
  22. It's probably you. Tens of thousands of people did attend, time and time again. Did you go to the free Kenny G concert? It was better than I expected. Sounds like a problem of your own making.
