What an absolutely disgusting attitude from the Thais. Horrendous even. Will they ever grow up?

Tonight after dinner I was very nearly knocked down by a motorbike driver who was going full pelt down a side walk.... Is this behavior acceptable in thailand? Is it the norm? Why are they so inconsiderate when it comes to pedestrians walking on the pavement??? And why don't they stop at a pedestrian crossing like they are supposed to?.. I gave him the verbals in thai and he just drove off shame faced without saying sorry, the horrible selfish git..
