It's that time of year again when the smog blankets the country in a hazardous haze. I've seen it as high as 200 today in some places. every year it's the same shtick. nothing is ever done about it. people complain for a couple of months and then once Songkran comes all is forgotten until next year. when will this ridiculous merry go round end? will they ever be able to curb the annual pollution problems in LOS? it is especially dangerous for children and the elderly, supposedly vulnerable groups but it seems nobody gives a stuff. why worry when you've got amulets, right?....

I think the best way to discourage poorer thais from visiting casinos and betting their lives away would be to charge them a flat entrance fee of 5,000 baht per head... Farangs should get in free no questions asked with complimentary alcoholic drinks included.
