How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
I never said it wasn't. What I said was, that article was NOT about a fully AI drone. It required a human

Thanks. So per that article, that a maned flight. What AI did was to engage the enemy (fly the plane once it was in the air) but it gave firing cues to the pilot. It didn't take off or land, the pilot did Thats still years away from being implemented.

Which is what, oh thats right. Subsidies. Americans need to pay the true cost for things, paying less for food because the employers don't pay a decent wage so the American tax payer does, is a subsidy. As soon as they hold the criminal employers accountable, that will change

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
More than a little bit, I made a great living, traveling all over America troubleshooting production/manufacturing issues related to machinery. In english it means I fixed the things that engineers said would work because the book told them so but the real world had other ideas. Now that we have the hecker swinging out of the way, it'd be nice to have a civil conversation.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
Seriouse question, you have a link ? I'd enjoy reading about that, I have friends in the industry that all think we're nowhere near being able to do that, 5 yrs at least

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
Its not done without huge subsidies, that equipment gets rid of the pickers but requires people to maintain and calibrate. They require a LOT of calibration as they're being used.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
I only looked at your link to Plumbers, In the first paragraph it talks about technology and robotic drain cleaners (those have been around for 20 + yrs too) so have remote cameras for pipe inspection The article is written by AI. They don't even know the industry has been using sensors and electronics in commercial plumbing for 60+ yrs, easily. Thats like the 3rd paragraph. Actually, in reading it, its just a puff piece, theres not a single thing in there thats specific or new info. The entire thing is AI

That still requires a human to maintain and keep running. Once they map the area they can fly themselves but again, it still need a human Its not any better than a helicopter or plane for now, both require a human to use. So nobody's being replaced

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
Thats not AI, thats automation. Very different things Thats been around for 30 yrs, they don't sell that tech because its too expensive AND not practical or efficient. Tree shakers have been used for 70 yrs or more and its the only way its done in America, no jobs were lost to that process.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
Not even close. The removal of criminal migrants from America give the people replaced by AI an opportunity but, that typically requires an apprenticeship of 2-4 yrs. There was a skilled labor shortage before this, its still there. Many of them will be too stupid to learn a trade so off to the fields with them.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
plumbers- nope Carpenters-nope Cement flat work - nope Masons-nope Electricians - nope HVAC- nope Upholstery- nope mechanics- nope and on and on. Within these, are many different types and none of it can be done by automation, not at all. I can't wait to see all the people that lose jobs to AI, begin to pick fruit and vegetables. We're several generations away from what your dream is.

Skilled trades have nothing to worry about and almost zero debt when starting. The idiots with liberal arts degrees will still be idiots. If people can't see the change thats coming and plan for it, well, they deserve what they get.

It's just Bangkok bank?
Bangkok Bank for me. Local branches in Kanchanaburi would NOT unfreeze it, they told me i had to go to the branch I opened it at. Got to Pattaya, lease, PP, Bank book, utility bill. They made copies of everything, had me sign a few things and then told me it would start working @1800 Then she says, you didn't have to come here, they could have done this at any branch. Sounds like my branches didn't want to fix someone elses problem. Just a guess. @1801 it was working

Good. This too is over due by 40 yrs. Oh wait, we had to have the war on drugs so people could get rich. That failed spectacularly. Or did it ? The cartels exist in this current form because of the CIA
