  1. About 10yrs ago i ordered some make up for my wife. A name brand at a fraction of the normal retail price. When it arrived and i opened it up it was all water damaged stock that had just been repackaged. There was no contact at all for the supplier, so i emailed Lazada and told them my situation and asked if there was a return address i could use, but i git no response. I sent them a second email but still no response. I then sent them a third email saying i was going to show the damaged stock on Facebook and the type of companies they were dealing with. THAT GOT ACTION, I got an email from them telling me i was barred for life. As others here have said, "there are other companies with the same products" and less problems.
  2. It would be interesting to see how he did make his first million because when he was dodjing the lauw in Du bia his daughter now ex prim minister was looking after his 30 companies. Don't know what the 30 companies are but i would'nt imagine that they would be crxp companies considering he is a baht billionaire an rates around the 10th row in the richest Thais list.
  3. I came to Thailand to live late 2009. I did not know anything about 90 day reporting and it never came up in any conversations until i had been here 6months , when i found out i was well over 90days overstay so i, went straight to immigration at Chom Chom on the Cambodian border with a friend. I had to front the chief of immigration and when i told him my story he simply told me to go to the ATM outside and get 20,000bht, which was the maximum fine, come back and he would fix it, which he did, no other problems. Expensive lesson but never missed a 90 day report since. Two years ago i had to go back home for family reasons and when i returned my yearly visa had expired by 2days, so i had to start the process all over again. During that time there was no mention of the overstay years before, so it apparently was not in their computer or deemed unimportant over the length of time and i had a new passport by then so they would not have picked it up there either.
  4. The red ball kid is living in London looking after the families real estate assets, everyone here knows it but because he is a hyso family member no one will do anything about it. Nothing will ever change for the hysos's. It's one rule for them and another for everyone else. I
  5. I have been using "Scores & fixtures - BBC Sport -1" on my laptop for over 15 years. It gives all the results down to Leagues 1&2, and world wide results. Never had a problem with it and so simple to use.
  6. TRUE'S EPL contract finished at the end of last season and JAS International won the new contract for the EPL TV rights for the next 6years and sub contracted the rights to AIS and MONOMAX who now have the contract (6 years) for the EPL tv rights in Thailand Laos and Cambodia. Sign up fees, AIS 1999Baht, MONOMAX 2999bht for the season. I signed up with AIS and have no problems watching the games live or replays. I would think this is why you are having problems
  7. I was diagnosed with Dry Age Related Macular Degeneration in both eyes about 13 yrs ago in Aus. The left eye is the worst and a couple of yrs ago my eye specialist told me i would have to have my check ups every three months instead of six. My eye specialist recommended a couple of eye support products - Macu Guard by Herbs of Gold, Aus, and Eye Support Dr. Mercola, USA. I was taking one of each tablet, once per day. About 2yrs ago i started taking two of each tablet per day. One of each twice per day. on my last visit to the eye specialist she told me that the condition had improved but did not know why. I told her that i had doubled the eye support and she said it may be why. Anyway i am now back to six monthly checks and improving even on the Amsler Grid Chart. I am getting my checkups and tests done here but if things suddenly get worse i will be strait back to Aus on the first plane. Food for thought guys.
  8. Some 35 years ago i called in on a friend and his wife and while sitting in the lounge room talking, they had a famous operatic pieces playing in the background. I was not taking any notice of the music until a particular piece started playing and i was transfixed with the beauty of the music and the voices. The piece was the famous Male Duet from the "Pearl Fishers". I had never heard it before but by the end of the duet i unashamedly had tears running down my cheeks from the sheer beauty of that piece. I went out the next day and bought it and still love it to this day. Strangely enough although i don't dislike opera, i have never been an operatic fan.
  9. In 15 years in Thailand i have traveled around about half of the country Whenever i have come across a restaurant that serves western food, i have tried their fish and chips if they are on the menu, as i like fish. I have not been too impressed with most of the fish and chips i have tried and cannot remember some of the earlier ones that were OK. However since being introduced to the "Swan Bar & Restaurant" in ( Buriram that i frequent once a month for my shopping), i have to say that their fish and chips, English style is definitely the best i have tasted in Thailand. Just my opinion but if you are traveling through Buriram, give it a try and see what you think. Their breakfast by the way, is huge and will keep you fueled up for the whole day.
  10. I have a Honda Click. I travel 76klms, 38klms there and back twice a week, weather permitting. I find i have sore shoulders, arms and buttocks, afterwards. I have never associated the soreness with the bike not having been a bike rider before coming to Thailand. Does the Click and the Wave have the same problems in making you feel sore after riding.
  11. Best fish and chips i have eaten in Thailand is at the "Swan Bar" in Buriram, real English style chips also.
  12. If money was no object, a condominium on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
  13. They are not getting into the house, security there is OK. They are coming onto the block at the bottom end which is partly like a swamp in the wet season. There are posts with barbed wire but that only keeps oy the buffalo. If i can't use a pellet gun it looks like i will have spend a lot more money building a secure fence.
  14. i am barred from Lazada and for some unknown reason cannot open an account with Shopee.
  15. I thought that one or two bursts with the plastic pellets would be enough to keep the dogs out of my place without doing any actual harm, only the stinging sensation of the pellets hitting them. I take your point though, thank you.
  16. I need a plastic pellet gun for troublesome dogs. Does anyone know if there is a shop that sells them in Buriram, Khon Kaen, or Korat. I believe there is a supplier in China town in Bangkok but i never get down to Bangkok. I would appreciate any help. Thank you, Don.
  17. I live in a village where everyone knows everyone, almost. One of my next door neighbour's is an elderly widow who is disliked by all who know her especially those that live in close proximity. It is believed that she has cancer and many say she can't die quick enough but shows no signs of doing so. She has got eight adult dogs and six pups from a recent litter. She refuses to get the females spade, also will not get them injected. The entrance to my place is through the property of one of my wife's aunt's, which borders this old woman's block. Quite often the dogs rush out growling ready to attack by going through the wreck of a fence. I have kept them at bay so far by using an iron tubular steel pipe but i can see these dogs attacking one of the young kids that come in and out and it could be fatal. I have thought of rat poisoned meat and a few other nasty things but i don't fancy spending the rest of my life in a Thai jail if caught. The local Tabyi Bahn (not sure how to spell this one) does not seem to care partly because he lives half a mile away from the problem. The only positive thing about the situation is that there is a hospital in the village if required. Unfortunately there is no police station here to report to. It looks like we are going to have to wait on this old biddy dying , but i can see some one getting mauled by the pack as that is what they are now. Any reasonable suggestions would be appreciated.
  18. The government passed a law a few years ago that stopped all expats marrying government employees from getting free hospital care. Those that already were married to a government employee retained the free hospital care but expats marrying from that date on did not get free hospital care. I have one friend who has been married to a school teacher for twenty years and is covered for all hospital expenses and another friend who married a nurse two years ago and gets NO free hospital care at all because of the law change.
  19. Thank you , i will try a consult and see what she has to say.
  20. MamaSan, What is the cost per eyelid surgery by Dr.Wimon. My upper lids are bad and block some of my viewing. I would be interested in seeing this doctor to see what her opinion is even though my Ophthalmologist back home recommended not to have eyelid surgery done as she said success rates are fairly low and the few good surgeons cost an arm and a leg. from what you say this one sounds good.
  21. In August last year i went to see the eye specialist in Buriram Gov hospital. I gave her a report on my Macular Degeneration (AMD) to read from my eye specialist in Australia. She read the report and i asked her if she understood it and she said "yes, i fully understand the report, thank you", in English. After having the usual tests done for my AMD she started to speak to my wife in Thai completely ignoring me. I asked her to speak to me and not my wife as it was my problem and my wife did not understand the AMD. She still ignored me and continued to speak to my wife, which is when i lost it. I called her a rude and ignorant bxxch and told her she could stick her test results up her axxe and would not be back again. So as far as verbal Thai bashing goes there are times when some ignorant Thais need a good verbal bashing. It comes back to mutual respect, If you have respect for one another there are usually no problems.
  22. There are none worse than the Americans for Bastardizing the English language and with social media it gets picked up around the world quickly. My most annoying example is the ROUT you take to get from point A to point B and not the ROUTE which is to DEFEAT. Some 50 odd years ago in America there was a TV show called "Rout 66", so they did actually English back then until some idiot thought it should be changed.
  23. Unfortunately pruning trees in Thailand consists of hacking them to pieces with a machete, i have seen it dozens of times. Not once have i seen a chain saw used and the trees pruned correctly.
