  1. From the linked article in the OP: "Jon Voight, who serves as one of Trump’s Hollywood Ambassadors, said Monday that he met with Trump recently to discuss “certain tax provisions that can help the industry – some provisions that can be extended and others than could be revived or instituted.” But that sounds like mostly incentives, not tariffs. In other words, Voight recommended a carrot and Trump announced a stick."
  2. Around the same numbers that care what the Brits think?
  3. Trump’s Hollywood tariff threat is already unraveling https://edition.cnn.com/2025/05/06/business/trump-movie-tariff-threat-nightcap "President Trump’s trade war had, until Sunday night, centered on goods — cars, toys, food, clothes, the tangible stuff we put in and out of virtual and physical shopping carts. But those goods make up less than a quarter of the American economy. The bigger chunk of our economic pie is known as services — think Google, Netflix, Facebook, the plumbing of the internet, banking, insurance. And, yes, Hollywood films, the industry Trump now thinks needs saving with — you guessed it — tariffs!"
  4. Canadian PM Says He’s Glad Trump Couldn’t Read His Mind in Oval Office https://www.thedailybeast.com/canadian-pm-says-hes-glad-trump-couldnt-read-his-mind-in-oval-office/ "Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney seemed to admit that he was seething in the Oval Office Tuesday as President Donald Trump taunted him to his face about annexing his country. When a reporter asked after the sit-down what was going through his head while he listened to Trump, Carney had an acerbic answer. “Well, thank you—I guess—for your question,” Carney began. “I am glad you could not tell what was going through my mind.”"
  5. "But for those that didn't want Joe Biden to have so much power because of his mental decline, be honest, why is it rational to want Donald J. Trump to have that power?" It's not rational because they're not rational. You can't be rational and deep into the MAGA cult at the same time. Not in a universe where 1+1=2.
  6. Stories like the one in the OP pops up once a week. When it's getting reported in the reputable part of media (sane media) I'll pay attention. The linked story contains a picture of some workers who might, or might not, be Chinese standing around doing nothing. Quote from the linked article in the OP: "Chinese industry leaders, meanwhile, are “extremely anxious” about the steep duties, with many telling factories and suppliers to halt or delay supplies, Wang Xin, head of an industry group representing more than 2,000 Chinese merchants told the Financial Times." If you go to the article in FT there's no mention of unrest. Wake me up when reputable news sources (like FT) do,
  7. Hey, thanks for the marketing assistance. Keep it up and a free membership is coming your way.
  8. Correct, and that means you are breaking the rules several times a day stalking anyone daring to say something negative about the cult leader.
  9. Strictly by the book.
  10. You'll find out!
  11. Photos?? That's so yesterday, Live video, baby!
  12. Two whole sentences. That's improvement!
  13. I can see me starting a very successful side business in the near future. Don't worry, OF clients are anonymized.
  14. Did this Bob also have a stirring avatar? Sounds like it based on the yearning evident in the posts from the MAGA crowd.
  15. Yes, because that's SO relevant. And while you're at it, what about Hunter's laptop, Hillary's e-mails, Benghazi, Soros and and and...... .....
  16. If you'd written those words into a search engine and hit enter you would already have had your answer.
  17. Wow, how original.
  18. Truly a life-changer this!
  19. Yes, from my own personal experience talking to friends and other expats over many years. But I'm guessing you're implying that I myself am a heavy consumer of naughty material online. I'm not, but would have absolutely no problem admitting it if I were.
  20. That's what option 6 is for.
  21. Your inspirational story has made me even more determined to go through with this. Thank you!
  22. What if I were? Do you miss female companionship? Is it the cackling that drives them away?
  23. I live here, and have done for a long time.
  24. I disagree. It's my impression that (s)expats in Thailand consume at least as much naughty material as a person living back home (wherever that may be). Maybe even more.
