Not survive, "Frank", but thrive. A country can survive without thriving. Take Russia for example. It still survives despite being an economic and political basket case. Without the nukes it would be like Saudi Arabia without the oil - nothing. The US OTOH, if it can keep it's vast pool of illegal workers doing the jobs no American wants, then it can thrive. The health of the US economy rests on the shoulders of the lazy, but at the same time job stealing, illegal immigrants.
