  1. ‘Hands Off!’ protesters across US rally against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk Millions of people took part in protests against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk across all 50 states and globally on Saturday, organized by a pro-democracy movement in response to what they call a “hostile takeover” and attack on American rights and freedoms. Over 1,400 “Hands Off!” mass-action protests were held at state capitols, federal buildings, congressional offices, Social Security’s headquarters, parks and city halls throughout the entire country – anywhere “we can make sure they hear us,” organizers said. “Hands Off!” demands “an end to this billionaire power grab.”
  2. Trust Igor to insert Ukraine (bad) and Russia (good) into a story about something completely different. But hey, that's what he's paid to do.
  3. ".....which I researched well......" Well, that settles it, I'm all in on the anti-vaxx drivel truth now!
  4. By no means. He is also sex offender, a thief stealing highly classified files (AKA treason), a serial bankruptcy loser, an expert on stiffing small contractors, a person who lead an insurrection, a...... I could go on here for a very long time, but in short this criminal moron is now tanking the US economy. Well done Trump voters, I hope it hits you really, really hard.
  5. ....says an expat. As I've stated before, there really seems to be a strict requirement among the MAGA cult that you leave all ability to detect hypocrisy in one self by the entrance before jumping into the rabbit hole.
  6. Yeah, the sh** show is in full swing; Trump Has Already Botched His Own Bad Tariff Plan https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/04/trump-negotiation-tariff/682300/ "Once you’ve said you might negotiate, nobody is going to believe you when you change your mind and say you’ll never negotiate."
  7. Trump's tariffs are hitting China's friends hard — and giving Beijing a golden opportunity "Analysts and researchers who study the area told Business Insider the tariffs would probably push China's allies closer to Beijing, giving China's leader, Xi Jinping, an opportunity to strengthen his hold on a region that his country greatly values. "Strategically, the US is now handing a victory to China in the US-China competition," said Vina Nadjibulla, the vice president of research and strategy at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada." Yep, the reshaping of the world economy is happening, but not in ways the clowns imagined.
  8. That's all? Are you telling me that he isn't even a convicted criminal like Trump is?
  9. I hereby petition the thread to be renamed to; The race to the bottom is on.
  10. This guy disagrees with you. But what does he know! Nike 'Won't Build Factories' In US, They Will Sell To Countries Like China Economist Peter Schiff warned on Thursday that Nike Inc. (NYSE:NKE) won’t shift production to the United States despite newly imposed tariffs, predicting higher prices and reduced domestic sales for the footwear giant. What Happened: “Nike won’t build factories in the U.S. to make sneakers. That would add more cost than the 40% tariffs,” Schiff wrote on X. “The result will be fewer sneakers sold in the U.S. at much higher prices.”
  11. Ah, so you agree that Musk is bad then. Well done, that's progress.
  12. We all know that will never happen. Whatever Putin has on Trump - golden shower tapes or other "kompromat" - will ensure that it's all gonna be fake posturing from Trump.
  13. Are you really doing the "my daddy's richer/bigger/stronger than yours"? Really??? So I guess your mental age is somewhere between 5 and 8 then.
  14. Yes, especially for American consumers. Very healthy to not have to worry about whether to buy product A or product B because you can't afford any of them anymore.
  15. JPMorgan becomes the first Wall Street bank to forecast a US recession following Trump's tariffs JPMorgan believes the US economy will enter a recession in the back half of 2025 as the impact of President Trump tariffs takes hold in the economy. The firm's chief US economist Michael Feroli sees a two-quarter recession occurring in the back half of 2025 as GDP contracts by 1% in the third quarter of the year and by 0.5% in the fourth quarter. For the full-year 2025, Feroli's team projects GDP will fall by 0.3%.
  16. https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/wall-street-futures-lose-ground-after-china-retaliates-against-us-tariffs-2025-04-04/ Fallout from Trump's sweeping tariffs stoked fears of a global recession, wiping trillions of dollars of value from U.S. companies. Highlighting growing panic among investors, the CBOE Volatility Index (.VIX), opens new tab, or Wall Street's fear gauge, closed at its highest level since April 2020. Since late on Wednesday, when Trump boosted tariff barriers to their highest level in more than a century, investors have dumped stocks, fearing both the new U.S. economic reality and also how U.S. trading partners might retaliate by steepening their own trade barriers.
  17. Pointing out that Trump plays golf and, may I add, stuffs his gob at a LIV Golf dinner reception instead of attending a ceremony for four fallen U.S. soldiers after having ravaged the US and world economy is trolling? Well, if that's so then I'm guilty as charged.
  18. "Last thing we need": GOP panic grows as Trump team can't get its story straight on tariffs Republican lawmakers are seriously worried about President Donald Trump’s far-reaching and market-rattling plan to impose tariffs between 10 and 50 percent on all U.S. imports. Amid a bloodbath on Wall Street, GOP members of Congress worried the cost increases levied on many goods could come back to bite them in future races. Former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., historically one of President Trump’s biggest enablers despite the animosity between them, called the scheme a “tax on everyday working Americans” on Thursday.
  19. Good idea. As parts of my savings are in stock funds that's the last thing I wish for. It's bad enough already, but that's what you get when a useless clown is in charge. But at least the market crash hasn't interfered with with his endless golf rounds, thank the gods! What a strange thing to say. Guess you're just grumpy that the job figures that you mentioned when closer examined aren't as great after all. Or maybe you're just tired from all the "winning".
  20. More winning! Tariff-related layoffs hit five US auto plants that supply factories in Canada and Mexico
