  1. What utter, utter crap. Do the Thais seriously think other people believe this rubbish.
  2. So the "whole" of phase 1 completion is now March 2026? "Yet, as of January, only 12.42% of civil works were completed" Who writes this bull<deleted>. Completing next year and less that 13% of the civils is complete. So 87% to go then all the non civils works to complete. Who the f**k is project managing this? Should that be March 2036? Now I know damn all about this Project except that it seems to have been going on for ever and that is the best explanation that they can come up with?
  3. I usually stay on Sukhumvit and if driving to the airport or Pattaya I go up Asoke and right onto Phetchburi Road then left onto Thanon Phet Uthai. Then right under the Sirat Expressway but then not sure if there direct access onto the Expressway. I am sure on one occasion I found an access point. I usually finish up going along Rama 9 and pick up the Expressway where is runs very close to the ARL. I think is where the toll booth starts going the other way. Now I can go through the sois to soi 3 the get on the Chalerm Maha Nakhorn Expressway then pick up the Sirat Expressway. Is there access from from Thanon Phet Uthai the follow underneath the Sirat Expressway or not. I am sure I did once but I can never seem to find the access slip.
  4. Lush seems a very strange store to be committing fraud in. Buying an iphone on somebody else's card I understand. Buying bath bombs hardly seems worth the risk.
  5. Yes suspended on appeal. What chance have we got when our elected politicians are violent thugs. Mike Amesbury punched the guy multiple times and when he was on the ground. A totally unprovoked attack but somebody will be along soon saying that he deserved it.
  6. I think ISAs are a much better deal. The only advantage I see with a pension is if you are a higher rate tax payer. Otherwise go for an ISA.
  7. Yes it was reduced a few years ago. 34 years I believe.
  8. What was the reason Britain just didn't take the other for states? May be a trade off over disputed territory between Burma and Thailand?
  9. Can you confirm or correct my understanding but I thought the Southern state Sultan swore allegiance to the Thai King and it was that fact that gave Thailand the OK to go and annex the South states after Britain said that they have no interest in them?
  10. 555555555555555555555555555555555555555
  11. I thought if you are deported then you have the choice of which country you are deported to. I am sure Turkey would have taken them. To say that volunteered to return to torture, imprisonment and death seems very unlikely. I think some of the Chinese dissadents on China's watch list had better scrub any plans to visit Thailand.
  12. Any reason I cannot post the story about Thailand deporting refugees back to China https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c14jjxz8re6o on the news site?
  13. Or just rented it out. Have you seen the rents you get in the UK now.
  14. Does anybody know what date was suggested so I can get the hell out of the UK when this debacle is going on. The only thing worse would have been on the 4th September 1939 to invite Adold Hitler on a state visit.
  15. The title says that they damaged the reef then in the text it said that they endangered the reef. I read the whole article and I saw no reference to damage.
  16. I didn't say that it was a pot. As you say my pension is being paid by current National Insurance payers. Just as when I was working all my NICs were paying for somebody elses pension. However it is not "tax" that pays the pension it is NICs. If the you like the NICs are tax but the government chooses not to call it tax. You used to have to have made 44 years worth of contributions to earn a full state pension so it is effectively a pot. As to a nice little earner, I dont think you will find people who haven't a company or private pension will call the state pension a "nice little earner". It does go up every year but not by an excessive amount. If what I paid in NICs hade been paid into an ISA or a pension I am sure I would be much better off.
  17. Really? "Measles is a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable infectious disease caused by measles virus."
  18. The very fact that ths site on a daily basis publishes Thai news stories that are foreigner this and foreigner that absolutey proves that the Thais are xenophobic. Most of the anti foreigner articles are more often than not far less serious than what the Thais do themselves. So by definition zenophobic. Now we have Thais complaining about foreigners being noisey. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. It will be foreigners are more dangerous drivers next. Hang on, they already do.
  19. Yes and being a "benefit" rather that a right gives the Government the right to alter it, like means testing, which they said they will never do but then who trusts them, and to spy on out bank account usage. What is called is irrelevant. Why it has to be called a "benefit" just because it is administered by the DWP is BS. By any definition it is not a benefit. I paid into a private pension just the same. That is not a benefit. I pay for car and house insurance that it not a benefit.
  20. In the news today and totally avoidable. 8 year old diabetic girl dies due to religious cranks. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp9yxvjx19go
  21. And there was me thinking that high speed rail in the UK was a farce. We did eventually start building at horrendoes cost but to save money you will be dumped in the suburbs of London. But they did find £100 million to build a 1 km long bat tunnel.
  22. Take their wife with them on the 6 month stay out of Thailand.
  23. So does this mean that the authorities are going to stop Thais also their very very loud all night parties? Then there is the once a month all night noise because one Thai family is sending one of their sons to be a monk. I wish Thais would do a little inward thinking now and again.
