Some bacteria can be seen with older lens microscopes. Viruses, on the other hand, are 'said' to be seen using electron microscopy. But they are indisguisable from the rest of the cell debris being viewed. From petri-dish to microscope there are a dozen steps. By the time the viewed it is nothing like it is in nature. Germs do not cause disease. No such thing as disease. Illness, sickness yes; but not disease. Germ is an umbrella term.
