Yes I was in khon Kaen in Feb. Great city. CM old city is awesome. Pubs, cafes, temples, restaurants, 130 baht massage, gyms. All flat easy walk. Bangkok is hard to walk around.

Hua Hin has cheap rent. Nice beaches and mostly clean air.
