Then maybe ask them your OP question about possibly living on 40k per month at that age whilst they're going from the club to the afterparty at 4am.

You're claiming that numerous immigration officers are systematically breaking the law en masse. Now you're just being silly, as well as being angry. 🙂

As mentioned, I'm neither of pensionable age, based in Pattaya, or living on 40k per month. For a 70 year old with all assets paid off with a nice home to be in, 5k on the weekends and 1k per day on weekdays, Sports Bar or meals at farang cafes, whatever they are, should be okay a few times per week. Do 70 year olds usually like going to Sports Bars?

No, and no. 🙂

Retirement visas/extensions are available for 25k first year 15k extensions after the first year ZERO funds needed. 🙂

The busybody's family called up my son at 8:30am this morning all excited. They're going to a waterpark and does he want to go, our house is on the way so they can pick him up. Great. I give him a thousand baht, we pack up his stuff into his backpack, and wait. Still no arrival at around the approximated pickup time. He calls them. They're waiting for another friend to come to their house first. Okay, cool. What time will this new friend go to their house at? They didn't say. Okay, can you check? Checks. They don't know. Okay, can they check? They check. 2pm. 2 pm??? It's 10am now. Okay fine. 2pm. Nattering on the phone. Everyone's going to a different waterpark now. Okay. What's it called? they didn't say. Okay, can they tell us please. ***** That's on the other side of the city! Yes, they said I'm to drive him to their house first. Cheesus Sucking Riist. I'll be as bald as Jeff Bezos soon.

Good (I mean that it's good you had that covered with no fuss, not good that you had such ailments!) I imagine a private insurer could have tried getting out of paying, or been a stressful headache to deal with, 5 million Baht is a decent amount if self insured.

They are covered in Thailand for life regardless of what country they live in thereafter. No. Yes. They will get any treatment they need, the same as a Thai citizen. 430 or so baht is deducted from their Thai bank account monthly. As long as they legally worked here for a minimum of 12 months, registered to stay in the SSO within 6 months of finishing work, and their Thai bank account is set up for the 430 or so baht to be deducted every month, they are covered for life the exact same as any Thai citizen. If they work a minimum of 15 years before the age of 60 they will also get a Thai pension for life, capped at something small like 3500 Baht per month. If living here enough for a nice monthly dinner, if not, a nice $1000 withdrawal every Christmas. Don't get information about Thailand from barstools.

Bachelor’s degree in the Philippines
Packer replied to Pistachio's topic in Teaching in Thailand Forum
Thai authorities stopped accepting online degrees a few years ago, with the exception of the Open University. They cannot be used to get a work permit for teaching anymore. -
There have been numerous cases of gangs of immigration officers going around to condos and the such fining people for TM30 violations over the years. Chiang Mai has had it 3 or 4 times over the last decade. Like the music license in bar scam, nothing happens for 3 or 4 years, then bam, there are gangs of them out with the law book fining people on the spot for a week or two.

Yes, any foreign worker (teachers included) get Thai SSO health insurance for life having worked here for at least 12 months. After leaving work they just need to register at the SSO office within 6 months, around 430 baht is automatically deducted from their chosen bank account every month. I know a few people that were instantly covered for around 500,000 baht after having sudden and serious illnesses. One of their private health insurances refused cover, another didn't even use their private insurance as the Thai SSO immediately covered the 400,000 baht of immediate treatment. 🙂 Most open a bank account specifically for it and stick 5000 THB into it at the start of each year. If they have 15 years of work within the SSO by the age of 60 they will also get a small pension for life. Capped at something like 3500 baht per month. Enough for a nice lunch or dinner with the wife or husband on the monthly payday. 🙂

You sound over 50. Forget the marriage visa. Get a retirement visa and annual extensions, with multiple re entry permit for comin and going. No money in the bank. No marriage. Around 25k for the first year, around 15k every year after, around 3800thb for the ME reentry permit per annum. No money needed in your Thai bank account. No marriage needed.

Teenage Refugee Recruited by Russian Spies in Huge Ikea Arson Attack

It certainly wasn't his IQ. -
They're certainly for Joses not Hanks. Illegals out, immigration tightened, imports cut out, mass unemployment and a scarcity of blue collared minimum wagers. The new American dream, to move from the sewing machine to the QC manager? 😁

US Expat in Thailand Faces 10 Years for Threatening US Senator

I've around 30,000 unread emails. I hope none are from him. -
Or will they bring back all of those they're currently deporting? 😁 I left the States nearly 30 years ago and wouldn't be surprised going by what I see every time I go back there.

The list has been delivered. Standard 15 yr old Japanese saloon. New radiator <4k One new engine mount 2.4k Tension belt assembly 2.3k Coolant 0.6k Oil and filter 1.5k Around 10.5k Guess it sounds about right if one engine mount failed and the radiator ended up with a slight crack.
-
No, and no. Tight. I sprayed the belt with water for one minute whilst running with no change of sound. I topped up the reserve and slowly drove it 15km to a local mechanic that is apparently reputable. Let's see. No coolant hitting the ground, just being sprayed around the engine bay in small amounts. There was no fresh spray visible after driving the 15km. Hopefully it's just a worn seal or pipe. Though if it is the mechanic won't profit off that too much, so one never knows what they're going to do or declare.

This is easily preventable with just a few locks. Lock together the hands of all Chinese passengers and you're sweet.
