  1. I love discussing politics, especially Thai politics with drunk Thai males. Some of the most interesting and character building nights of my life have concluded in such a fashion! The Don.
  2. I once went to a dentist in Bangkok and they wanted to test my blood pressure. They said it was high and refused to treat me so I bought a blood pressure monitor and monitored myself, day and night over a 30 day period. The average reading was 120/80. It's a ridiculous requirement that can cause unnecessary issues as blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day - and is one of the main reasons I try to avoid all Thai medical facilities when on holiday if possible. Don.
  3. And why should they? Don.
  4. I agree. The left wingers have totally fallen off the political cliff. Don.
  5. Yes. And I also do love Thailand and will be back in September when the rains arrive. Don.
  6. So why are you here, then? Don.
  7. Pardon me Sir, but what have I said since joining this forum that is, as you say, 'poop'? Don.
  8. Hello, scorecard. It was just far too busy for me, too many people, the air wasn't fit to breathe, the locals seemed slightly dour and overworked, I witnessed a couple of fights which wasn't nice, lots of beggars etc. We simply don't have these issues in Japan. Service is excellent and I have never witnessed a physical altercation here. Don.
  9. I come to Thailand as a tourist regularly, and have done for almost 30 years. Don.
  10. Hello. You sound troubled and confused. I live in Kobe, though I do visit Osaka quite regularly as I have friends who live there. Don.
  11. Same here. I'm back in Japan now and will never go back to Thailand in High Season ever again. The things I saw there (I also went to Pattaya) really did shock me. Don.
  12. Yet more tomfoolery I see. After visiting Thailand for over 30 years as a tourist nothing has ever changed. I'm so happy to be back in clean, green, polite Japan. Don.
  13. Sorry, But i am incredibly confused. I think Thailand may be getting to you! Don.
  14. Oh my golly gosh! Look at the state of him in the picture. These kind of things never happen in Japan. Don.
  15. Hi, BangkokReady. I'm sorry if my post has disturbed you, but my next one will definitely be more upbeat! I have just returned home to Kobe and I'm definitely glad to be back. Everything is so clean and orderly - I don't think I will ever visit Thailand again during high season, it was far too chaotic for me this time around. I think I will come back in September 🙂 I hope you have had a fantastic day nonetheless! Don.
  16. You sound angry and depressed. Is everything OK? Why not come to Japan - it might make you feel better! Don.
  17. Very happy thanks. Japan is an amazing country. Food is the best in the world here. Don.
  18. Thailand should take a leaf out of Japans book. We have quality education here and a well disciplined population. Don.
  19. Better sort the potholes in the road out first. That will probably take a lot longer than 3 years. Don.
  20. Hi BritManToo. My name is Don, not Bob. Actually I don't live in Thailand, I live in Japan but I do go to Thailand quite often for holidays etc. I just love it there, especially in the low season when there aren't many tourists around. Don.
  21. Hi there, Does anyone else feel constantly bombarded by negativity, on the news, on social media, on TV etc?... Does anyone else feel like this is all planned? Maybe by the WEF, as there are studies that show when people are afraid they spend more. Well I'm here to sprinkle a little positivity into your day. I hope you are having a great one, whatever it is you are doing. I myself am enjoying a nice cup of green tea and reading a good book. It's nice to be here. Don.
