You do have some good points.
I have a Thai bank account, Kasikorn. I use the bank’s app often for scanning QR .
While booking hotels normally one must book with a CC. If I can pay by scan in person I prefer that in Thailand.
One time I was hacked by using a CC at a hotel in Thailand. One of the employees got the numbers and went shopping .
My credit union didn’t charge me when I disputed.
I often carry 10 k in my wallet. Just in case for targets (plural) of opportunity.
All ATM withdrawals , phone, not card are 20k baht. Less trips to the ATM.
Debit cards are worse . They directly withdraw from one’s account and it is gone with wind.
CC have the added protection for dispute.
