International trips aside, my wife and myself go to one inexpensive place of beauty and tranquility six weeks a year and have done so since we met. Cheap. There's nowhere like it in Thailand and much the world. Most anywhere else will not be as beautiful, peaceful, great for health and exercise. In the better times still fun. I'm a cheap backpacker type. That's how I also became a cheap retired at 45 in Thailand type. I far and away prefer a backpack as the filthy rollers and being IN the street generally is not the order of the day. I'd say filthy roll bag types. My Thai wife, also used a backpack for years with me and before me. I nag and plead not to take a roll bag. Ever been run over in an airport.. by a person that doesn't give a F? Decades ago I used to wonder whether it was worth walking to Big C for many items when I could just buy them at 7 for quite literally a baht or two more. Times have really changed. Bangkok Since forever I'd submit my extension paperwork well ahead of the expiry date. I had always got the extension back in hand on the date of expiry. My last extension was different. The IO wanted to give me a date that was essentially a three week turnaround. Drama ensued, but I'll spare you that. She asked if we had plans over New Year (we did). I ended up picking up the extension as always, with drama. My question is simply is this a thing now? Is the turnaround 3 weeks OR on expiry date? I now must plan for both of course 🙄 Thanks FYI I've now picked up my extension with no bank book update two years now. I'll still have it in hand for another three years just because 😅🙄
