  1. “They make huge amounts of money from this business. By law, they must pay 20 per cent trading tax [on income earned in Thai waters] to the government, but we get nothing.

“Thailand gets nothing more than their trash and they keep all the money back in their own countries,” he said.

Start charging 20% at watch them go elsewhere. Lots of other places to visit.

Spend the 15.1 million cleaning up the beaches and installing proper trash bins. This will draw more tourists and you’ll get your 15.1 million back x 10.

Then we get 'em with the jet skis and 'the wat is closed today, but my friend has a jewellery store' scams!

    Good thinking, 99!

  2. So i am not sure i understand. You fill this online then go to immigration? I have never been to chiang wattana but in pattaya it is same day and very quick.....i thought they migh have a counter at the airport then i would be impressed....

They used to have such a counter at the airport, but for some reason, they closed it down!

    NOTE!!

It's opened again, I used it last month, but did get caught out once years ago when they closed it without publicising.

Pre-booked times sounds good but for all the time it takes to get to Cheng Wattana in North Bangkok you may as well do it at the airport while waiting to board your flight, there is quite a long wait (20-30 minutes) but then they let you jump to the front of the queue for immigration. It's a small desk to the left of the queue area on the upstairs immigration, if you ask where it is you'll get a run around since no one seems to know.

EXCEPT Airport is 24 hours, reentry permits 6 am to late (10 or 12). If you are flying out late or early, don't count on it -

  3. What a complete douche bag this guy is.

When I read things like this I immediately think of my GF and how it could easily happen to her finishing late from work one night.

It was exactly because of safety concerns that we decided after one week at a new job that she should leave. Finishing late at night at the end of a lonely isolated Soi with a long walk to the nearest motorcycle taxi stand. She didn't feel safe and I didn't want anything to happen to her.

She can get the mob # from the motorcycle taxi guys & have them come to pick her up.

    Bit late now -

  4. Even with a seat belt, sudden decelerations can lead to mortal injury. They are known to tear major internal vessels and can easily cause c spine fractures.

A Volvo study showed min speed for fatality w/o seat belts - 12 mph. With - 42 mph.

E = 1/2 mv2 - 12.25 times the energy at 42 mph. Seat belts much better than not.

  5. PO website - select English, select country, click, always website reverts to Thai - thank god for Google translate. Call 1545 to advise of website problems - no answer.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Or maybe just don't fix it, anyway! ;-)

Went to the PO this morning to get the details on EMS World - was told it is not available. The she said only at La Prao and Laksi in BKK. Went to get me info on addresses, came back and said sorry not available any more.

Would be grateful for any contrary info re EMS World! ;-)

  6. Fing lying bitch should be rearrested in Australia & extradited to Thailand & made to prove her new accusations.

Should had no problems with the idea of sending 3 guys to jail for 10 or more years. PROVEN a lie by the (1) mer cy driver who went to her room to get paid & he saw the damage in the room.

30 years jail (same as tuk yuk drivers would have got) x 3 for wilfully false. See you in 90 years, bitch.

    A disgrace to Australian women.

  7. The local wat across the road fired up thier speakers at 0445 this morning and my dogs chimed in with thier latest hit

" How much for those two doggies on the balcony ". Ow ow ow owwwwww woof ow ow owww woof woof.

Yoo looky bastard! How did you arrange the extra 15 minutes sleep?

Today is start of Bhuddist lent, so next 3 months its going to be 75 dB of - noise - through my place at 4.30 am, going by last couple of years. Usually get to sleep 1 - 1.30.

But good to see feedback is coming to Thailand! Huge latent market. With change.org (thai br) Isaan lady got bus co to stop the gory movies on the BKK bus.

  8. When my wife and I go to the Mall in Korat I head for Starbucks while my wife brouses the shops for about 30 minutes. I order a water @ 15 Baht and read one of the free Newspapers they supply, either Bangkok Post or The Nation for us Farangs. My wife then comes and has a fancy coffee of some sort and as soon as she finishes we go for lunch. I find Starbucks to be great, very pleasant and smiling staff and sometimes they even cut up some cake into small pieces and walk around the shop offering everyone a piece, even me with my 15 Baht water. WiFi is not free. Also the seating is clean and comfortable. I have not seen any abuse as previously mentioned but then again I go there early about 11am and leave by 11.45am. Well done Starbucks.

They have let the Pattaya store (cnr Soi 13/2?) go to the dogs tho. Used to be nice, years ago -

  9. "And I have heard some monks say that humans and the universe have always existed and always will"

How can knowledge come from a vacuum? These guys don't know which end of a microscope to look into. They just know that if they say something controversial it will pass for wisdom.

    Mostly.
