Thankfully, Trump didnt win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Is there a "Soros Syndrome", or is that just another manifestation of antisemitism?

Trump has forced Chinas hand, they are getting desperate
What you don't see is reality. Previous Administrations kind of encouraged low wage jobs and polluting industries---especially those which would soon be obviated by technological gains anyway---to go global. That had additional monetary benefits, one for politicians (it put money into the Donor Class of CEOs and big shareholders), and it put excess capital into the hands of foreigners so that outsiders could fund the lifestyle of those in the US, a nation that always runs up massive budget deficits. It tended to work pretty well, until two things happened: other nations began running up their own massive deficits, and even more rapid technological advances obviated even low skill foreign labor. The only thing the US consumer will see from the tariffs is higher prices. Jobs are never coming back, because with time (and AI) those jobs will no longer exist. Put another way, here's what Dave Chappelle said, "Americans want to wear Nikes, not make them". Commerce Sec Lutnick, clueless man that he is, actually said Americans will love to put those tiny little screws into iPhones, all day every day. MAGAs might find that a stimulating challenge, but the other 51% of Americans will not.

Trump has forced Chinas hand, they are getting desperate
Nobody is anti-west. Rational people and actual American patriots are anti-Trump. The difference might be too subtle for those too deep in the fever swamps of the cult to understand.

White House Slams Nobel Committee Over Trump Peace Prize Snub
The initial fallout from the petulant child is his new 100% tariffs on Chinese imports. Not sure if there are any new ketchup stains on the Oval Office walls, but I suspect there are. I also suspect Trump acquired the first pet dog of his life, just so he could kick it. I think in the next few days, when Trump and his Carnival People administration can focus more clearly, we'll likely see a banning of any performance of Peer Gynt, ICE rounding up all copies---vinyl, CDs, Ipods and Spotify---of the Beatles "Rubber Soul" album (contains "Norwegian Wood"), libraries robbed of "Kon Tiki", no more GIFs of Edvard Munch's "The Scream", an outright ban on the songs "Take on Me" by A-ha and "Barbie Girl" by Aqua, and a revoking of the visa of Karsten Warholm, world record holder in the 400 meter hurdles. And please folks, keep you and your loved ones off of Viking Cruise Line ships.

White House Slams Nobel Committee Over Trump Peace Prize Snub
Yes. Everyone who doesn't worship the flatulence popping from Trump's bloated blubberbutt fatuga lost their credibility. How can anyone not see he's the Second Coming. I mean, look what he did in 1994 in Rwanda, stopping that genocide that killed "7 million" with "machetes....machetes everywhere"? Or halting the horrific war between Aberbaijiban (sic) and Albania? Or Cambodia and Armenia? I heard Trump even just went and sat on Mt St Helens and his butt stopped the lava flow. Heck, just last week Trump told us he was the first person ever to know Osama bin Laden was a bad guy. RIGGED ! UNFAIR ! Anyway, the Nobel's rating are way down. No talent.

POLL: Will Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize? Should he?
As bad of a day as Trump is going to have, deciding what level of tariffs he's going to put on Norwegian imports, or maybe ordering missile strikes on Viking Cruise line ships, imagine how bad of a day some proctologist at Walter Reed is going to have checking Trump's prostate.

POLL: Will Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize? Should he?
Hard to believe as it might be, there are great and brave women in this world working for the betterment of the species. I doubt she would run to the White House bunker if a Code Pink protest developed on Pennsylvania Ave.

Half of U.S. states sliding into recession, Moody’s warns
Well, Trump took the growth Obama left him and handed Biden a Recession. I think he can do it again to Newsom. Trump is the first US president since Herbert Hoover to leave office with fewer Americans employed than when he entered. His so-called "best economy ever" wasn't even in the top 70% of economies since the end of WWII. It's kind of like his "stable genius" claim, when Rep Crockett was able to get his SAT scores and see he scored in the 38th percentile. Biden presided over the greatest job growth in US History, and the best economic growth since the Clinton years of the late 1990s. Oh, and inflation is higher today than when Trump took over. The funniest stat I've seen in the last while is that a poll was taken by YouGov, Jimmy Kimmel had a higher approval rating than Trump.

Oh, please explain that. How was the definition changed?

POLL: Will Trump win the Nobel Peace Prize? Should he?
I think another poll might be: How high will the tariffs on Norwegian imports be if Trump fails to be named Nobel laureate?

Nobel Peace Prize goes to Newsom!
Besides, the Nobel committee has been burned several times before on "Mideast Peace Deals", only for the violence to start anew, again and again and again. I think they're done with Nobels for ME "peace deals". Perhaps the folks who provided humanitarian assistance to the people starving in Gaza will get the nod. Trump is sending masked stormtroopers to US cities, which is not exactly peaceful. He is sending ICE psychopaths to grab 73 year old grannies in public parks, which is not exactly peaceful. He is firing missiles at boats off Venezuela where very weak "intelligence" says they might be drug runners. And let's not forget last year he threatened to invade Greenland, the land of a fellow Scandinavian nation. The Guardian newspaper even ran an article saying Norway is bracing for Trump's reaction if he doesn't win the Peace Prize. The US is such a joke under the clown Trump. Oh, and anyone who thinks this will "finally" end the Mideast issue....Jared has a waterfront condo for you, though maybe in Albania or Aberbaijidan (sic) or Rwanda, others places where the valor stealer Trump is trying to claim credit for stopping violence.

Nobel Peace Prize goes to Newsom!
You MAGAs continually spout that line about CNN and MSNBC. Why don't you begin listing all the false things those networks have reported which you know to be false and for which they did not issue a retraction. I think AN has lots and lots of free pixels, so your list can be as long as you need. I don't recall either network having to pay almost $800,000,000 for a lie, like Fox did, and I think is still fighting a similar case of a lie where they might have to pay $1.3 billion. Anyway, go ahead and educate the masses here on what makes those networks not credible.

NY Attorney General Letitia James Indicted on Federal Charges
Amazing that you have such in depth knowledge of both US law and the specific charges against James that you are confident of a Trump win. Harvard law degree and clerked for a Supreme Court justice or something? I think Trump loses and just ends up looking more like the vindictive little whining crybaby that rational people know he is. I suspect, since there is absolutely nothing on Schiff, that the next indictment will try to get the Senator for sticking gum under his desk in 2nd grade. BTW, the Comey one pretty much blew up already. Nobody in the Eastern District of Virginia was willing to work with the insurance lawyer to bring the silly case to court, so DoJ had to grab a couple of junior prosecutors from North Carolina to do it, and they looked like fools in court on Wednesday. Making it even worse, the moron Trump meant to send a private message to his attack dog Bondi about indicting Comey and James, but goofed and posted it on his social media account (Per the Wall Street Journal edition of 7 October 2025). Presidents do not dictate what the DoJ does, so on that posted message alone, the judge will likely dismiss the case. James can do the same. Vindictive and clever is a dangerous combination. Vindictive and incompetent makes it a clownshow. Trump might as well just attached the red ball to his nose and stop trying to hide behind some tough guy facade. He's a bozo.

NY Attorney General Letitia James Indicted on Federal Charges
And the low IQ and fascist MAGAs, who cannot tell the difference between proper use of indictments against actual lawbreakers vs simple weaponization of the DoJ, will never get it. MAGAs use the buzzword the far right fascist media gave them (lawfare) to diss any investigation of actual lawbreaking. No MAGA has ever been able to explain why a guy running a wedding planner facility and a country club needed highly classified documents including HCS (Human Clandestine Sources) that have the actual names of foreigners who risk their lives and the lives of their families by cooperating with US intelligence. Nor why a private citizen needs TS/SCI, SAP, Codeword, RD, etc. docs in a club where anyone with $200,000---including Chinese MSS ops officers---can join. Neither can any MAGA explain why Trump tried to browbeat the Georgia SecState into "just find me...11,780 votes", despite being told repeatedly that the votes had been counted and recounted and Trump lost Georgia. MAGAs cannot give any possible rational reason what Trump would summon his goobers to DC for 6 January 2021, Tweeting "It'll be WILD !", nor offer any reason why Trump would tell them to fight (37 times in his speech) and march to the Capitol. Either Trump is an insurrectionist and seditionist and tried to overthrow US Democracy, or MAGAs are arguing that Trump is an absolute idiot who couldn't possible have known his goobers would turn violent. Personally, I think Trump is an anti-US, self-serving, vindictive clown who is also an absolute idiot (38th percentile on his SATs doesn't scream "stable genius"). The clown who now barks about Democrats being "gnats we need to take care of", while addressing US sailors, thinks trying to hang the Vice President and beating 140 Capitol police officers are not only pardonable, but anyone who was convicted should be compensated for it and anyone who investigated and prosecuted those terrorists should be fired. MAGAs cannot explain that, at least using any sort of rational argument. A jury of his peers convicted Trump of 34 felonies, and all Trump did was doxx the judge and the judge's family, knowing full well his goobers are more than capable of attacking anyone Trump states is an enemy. A civil jury of his peers convicted Trump for sexual assault, and had E Jean Carroll been successful in getting a sample of Trump's DNA, it could have been compared to the semen stains on the dress she wore on the day of the sexual assault, and which she never laundered, to prove Trump did what she alleged. The jury found sufficient evidence regardless and convicted Trump of sexual assault. That isn't "lawfare", it's simply law. And justice. Trump's attempt at retribution is already blowing up in the case of Comey, as his Carnival People embarrassed themselves in court on Wednesday. Their one "witness" said Comey never leaked anything classified. If it is merely Trump's attempt to embarrass Comey by having him arraigned, it will just make Trump look like the vindictive child rational people already know him to be, and Comey will just smile come out looking better than he ever has. So will James. Even with the blocking of the legitimate and serious cases against Trump, who would likely have been convicted for the stolen documents case (and lying about returning everything), and possibly even convicted for his 6 January insurrectionist behavior, it's still Trump 34, Comey + James 0.

Prosecutors said central witness undermines case against Comey
Somewhat related to this is Comey's daughter, who was---until recently---a federal prosecutor.......... She was on the team that successfully prosecuted the pedophile and human trafficker/groomer Ghislaine Maxwell. She was subsequently fired for no reason, while Trump said in response to a question in the Oval Office that he will look into a pardon for Maxwell..

Prosecutors said central witness undermines case against Comey
The Comey arraignment on Wednesday was a typical Trumpian clownshow handled by his usual gaggle of Carnival People. It was clear Trump's lapdog prosecutor had never been in a courtroom to prosecute a case (she's an insurance lawyer). Also, not a single prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia was willing to go into court with the buffoon, so DoJ had to summon two junior prosecutors from North Carolina. Comey's team said they have been given no discovery information, so the presiding judge asked Trump's people about the discovery, to which a junior prosecutor---not Trump's hand picked lackey---responded, "We're just trying to get our hands around the discovery". It's a two page indictment, where the second page merely reiterates the first page. Not much discovery to be had, much less get one's hands around it. A Trump show, indeed. "The best people" LOL! But wait, there's more! Trump posted an order on his social media account telling his AG Bondi to prosecute Comey. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Trump actually intended to send it as a private message to Bondi, but goofed and posted it for all the world to see. Dumb! Also, the two hacks from North Carolina working with the lapdog Halligan, claimed the case was so complex it would take them a lot of time to fully understand it. This is in stark contrast to how the case developed. Halligan was appointed on a Monday, and indicted Comey by Thursday of the same week. If an investigation by someone who probably hadn't even hung her family photos yet in her office nor found out where the coffee machine is, could get a case together in 3 days, it can hardly be complex. Comey is accused by the Carnival People of making a false statement before Congress, but nobody in the courtroom on Wednesday had any idea what that supposed false statement was. (Maybe some other Trump lackey is working with AI to fabricate it right now.) This is attempted weaponization of justice to be sure, but the "gunfighter" is impotent.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
Here's a parlor game: There's a tall, cold glass of Trappist Ale sitting in front of you on a sweltering afternoon. You're really thirsty and the beer looks perfect. There's a 1% chance it has a fatal dose of cyanide in it. Do you accept the risk and drink it? Maybe AI and the coming singularity contains a 1% risk humans are eradicated. Do we accept that risk and put no restrictions on AI? Of course this parlor game is an unfair example. In the beer example, each of us has an individual choice as to whether we quaff it down. In AI, the decision for all of us is being made by trillionaire wannabes like Sam Altman.

How will societies deal with the massive job losses from AI?
It's all opinion now, but I tend to agree with yours. I think the disruption that is on the horizon is unlike anything humanity has ever faced. When manual labor was in surplus 800 years ago, the Bubonic Plague cleared away the excess and brought serfdom to an end. When McCormick introduced his combine, farm workers had the factories of the Industrial Revolution to absorb them. Today, the job an obviated worker might seek will already be performed by an AI agent, so he has no where to go. There will be some good to come of it, but good is relative. For example, doctors will be unnecessary, as AI agents will know more, can diagnose with fewer errors, and can tailor treatment based on one's individual gene expression/metabolism/etc. I think universities will disappear, as what good is learning something that qualifies one for a job AI does better. Education will be online, and for education's sake only....kind of like current degrees in "Women's Studies" or "Communications" or "Psychology". Mentally stimulating, perhaps, but useless in terms of income. Currently CEOs are so excited that they can cut employee costs with AI, failing to see CEOs will also lose their job to an AI agent. Nobody needs an inflated and expensive ego in the corner office. I fully agree society will be totally bifurcated, with only two classes: the Musks and Altmans of the trillionaire class (who are now making decisions they have no right to make about all of our futures), and the 99.99999% who live off a basic and equal income. People who work trades have a little more time, but as robotics get better, plumbers jobs will disappear, too. I think how people will adjust to losing meaning will be a function of current age. It will be much easier for those under, say, 35, who think watching endless TikTok videos all day long represents a life well lived. AI agents know how to control those people. Elders will be more difficult to control, and self-aware AI agents might determine the planet is better off without those who cannot be pacified with the kind of banal drivel currently available on TikTok. There are enough experts and insiders (e.g., Geoffrey Hinton, Roman Yampolskiy) who are of the opinion AI might eradicate human beings, that it must be taken seriously. Guys like Altman are too intent on becoming trillionaires and gods that they chose to ignore the unknown, but potentially extinction-level, risks.

Leftist Reign of Terror Redux: Possible Attack Thwarted

Leftist Reign of Terror Redux: Possible Attack Thwarted
"We have to take care of this little vermin in our midst called MAGAs." If I write that, does it get the panties of MAGAs here in a twist? I’m just an anonymous guy on the internet posting to what is largely a group of fat, decaying old men. A few days ago, the President of the United States actually said: “We have to take care of this little gnat on our shoulder called the Democrats” (He then makes a sweeping motion across his shoulder.) Trump was not speaking to a bunch of nobodies; he was addressing thousands of American sailors at a Naval facility in Norfolk, VA. So tell me…who is inflaming things? Who is encouraging violence against fellow Americans? Would Reagan have ever uttered anything so crass, dangerous and un-American? Bush I? Bush II? Clinton? Obama? Lincoln?

The far left Extremists put bounties on the Heads of ICE,news
"DHS intelligence" Now THERE'S an oxymoron, made for morons! Come on fellas, now tell us Soros is paying all that money. Ha Ha Ha. That's as real as Trump solving the Rwandan genocide in 1994, or being the first person ever to note Osama bin Laden was a bad guy. Hey, and Portland is a "war zone...a burning hellhole". One has to be MAGA-dumb to buy into this propaganda.

“Democrat’s ‘two bullets’ text sparks backlash, GOP attacks,
Are you scared of the dark? I guess you approve of searching for the VP to hang him. Trump certainly is, as he pardoned those terrorists. That's MAGA style violence. By the way, I suggest before you "get training", go lose 100 lbs and get into some sort of shape. You have to be able to move, not waddle, when someone is coming at you. Oh, and be careful, because if you ever hear a shot fired in anger, you may well disgrace your Depends. Bring a couple spares. Ramboid MAGAs......as Dubya might say, "That's some crazy sh!t".

The violent right kills again.
I'll grant you it is tasteless if some few people--a fringe element---actually does put a killer's face on t-shirts, etc., but you must also say when TV talking heads makes jokes about hammers and Speaker Pelosi's husband was viciously beaten by a MAGA, that, too, is tasteless. What stands alone, and likely always will, is the disgrace of Trump calling his goobers to DC for 6 January, and then telling them to march to the Capitol, where they beat 140 cops and searched for the Vice President to hang him on a gallows they set up. You know Trump intended the violence, unless you think he is so stupid that "How could anyone have known?" is his excuse. It was a pro forma exercise (certifying the election) and the Constitutional duty of the VP. Trump undoubtedly hoped he could put an end to democracy and remain in power, because he could not accept being a loser. Then, the far right make a hero and martyr out of the terrorist Babbit, when she got what she deserved for attacking the house of our elected officials. "Typical tourist" she was not. The final outrage---and proof Trump really doesn't care about law enforcement or rule of law---Trump pardoned the very terrorists who beat cops and wanted to hang the VP.

Pat Ryan SHREDS Pete Hegseth and Demands Resignation...
Isn't it always the "Never Served" and "Let others go into harm's way for me" types who are the most vociferous armchair Rambos! Kind of like the bone spurs excuse himself, tough guy with a blubberbutt and canckles, the man who Gen Kelly said called the dead and wounded "suckers and losers" (and guaranteed the star officers at Quantico last Tuesday believe Gen Kelly over Trump), and that nerdy little Heinrich Himmler wannabe, Stephen Miller, whose unhinged rant in Memphis almost sounded like the Fuhrer, not just Himmler. The US Military is already the world's premier fighting force. The women who serve could kick Hegseth's butt nine ways from Sunday, and certainly all of the fat old MAGA armchair Rambos. If Hegseth cared so much about people fighting for freedom and security, he might want to have his boss reward the most heroic freedom fighters on the face of the Earth today: the people of Ukraine. Instead, Trump and his groveling, sycophantic minions try to jump on a real man---Zelenskyy---and criticize his attire (which was infinitely more fitting than what Musk used to wear in the Oval Office). Zlelnskyy is Target #1 of Putin, yet Zelenskyy turned down many offers for safe refuge outside Ukraine and chooses to stay in country. (Trump ran to the WH bunker when a Code Pink protest showed up on Pennsylvania Ave, and then called the WH staffer who leaked that to the media a "traitor who should be executed")

We asked 1,000 Americans who they blame for the shutdown
Do you know what the word "Majority" means? (Hint: it's something the Republicans hold in both the House and Senate.)
