  1. Yea they all live in one big dilapidated shack. Unfortunately I don't think she would hop on my Honda wave but I'll try and keep my wits about me. Definitely wouldn't catch me there after dark. @NorthernRyland what kind of gangster are they though? I have experience with the Mexican cartel and would not like to repeat that again, but if they're more like a mafia then that's ok. I can keep my head down, be polite, and bring gifts now and then. As for why, just personal interest.
  2. I started taking Shan language lessons from this old lady near Chiang Mai and I'm now pretty sure her all grandsons are gangsters. They're all friendly but I do wonder if one day while I'm at the house a rival gang will pull up and shoot us to bits. Is my worry merited?
  3. Why did they admit it? Thailand couldve claimed it was actual ghosts and both sides would've believed it
  4. I know plenty of Thai people that buy a product because their favorite influencer endorses it. I'm guessing other Asians are similar
  5. People are friendlier Less expensive Few or no cops If you can speak some Thai it's a good time.
  6. These solutions Melinda suggest are vague and ultimately mean nothing.
  7. Defamation laws seem to be holding Thailand back
  8. Yep, guards are gonna break him out of prison once people forget in a few years.
  9. Because in Thailand image is everything even what water you drink. You'd think this would lead to a nation of cool hipsters but in reality we just see consumerism.
  10. Good on him, talk like that is dangerous in Asia. Hope he's safe
  11. Sure, but this is expected of anyone successful living in Thai society. If you were a broke drunk with gambling debt they would probably care for you and not ask for money. You'd still be accepted in society though. I like this about Asian culture. When I was staying at a gfs family home her grandma gave me 1000 baht. They live in one of those open air farm houses and sleep on the floor with lizards and critters on the walls so hardly rich. I took them out for dinner to the most expensive restaurant in the nearby city but even that was a struggle to pay. I'm sure I broke some faces but whatever. Edit: age plays a huge role in this
  12. Being a cop in Thailand must be awesome. Can half breeds become cops?
  13. I enjoy your posts about the old days and adventures you've had. Also you piss off the old boomers here which is very amusing.
  14. See you next year
  15. Anyone who thinks that the vax was anything but a money grab by big pharma is a dullard
