  1. The courts threw out Bloomberg's sugar tax but his efford to impose one succeeded elsewhere. But he did successfully ban trans fats in NYC. For which he was pretty much universally castigated by right wingers. Ultimately, the FDA banned trans fats nationwide in 2015. Thanks, Obama.
  2. If you can't even understand what an indictment or lack thereof signifies, what's the point of going into the weeds about a grand jury nullification? The fact of the matter is you compared the case of Sidney Reid, who hasn't even been indicted, to the cases of convicted criminals. And no matter how much you try to deflect the issue away from your blatant ignorance, you can't unring that bell.
  3. You are remarkably ignorant of the US judicial system for someone who claims to be an American.
  4. Here's a link https://www.justice.gov/usao/justice-101/charging And here's a quote from it: "After the prosecutor studies the information from investigators and the information they gather from talking with the individuals involved, the prosecutor decides whether to present the case to the grand jury. When a person is indicted, they are given formal notice that it is believed that they committed a crime. The indictment contains the basic information that informs the person of the charges against them." In other words,in the case of Sidney Reid, it wasn't even determined that a crime had even occurred.
  5. It's clear you haven't been keeping track of the Trump administration's assertion that they were going to be tracking the social media of all those who hold US visas.
  6. Yet another right winger who doesn't have a firm grasp of the English language. Since when does the word "theory" signify a statement of fact?
  7. Courts have consistently ruled that the “official proceeding” in question was Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote. To convict, prosecutors had to show that defendants acted “corruptly”—meaning with the intent to unlawfully stop or impede certification of Biden’s victory. Hundreds of rioters have pleaded guilty or been convicted under this charge. Attempting to undermine the Constitution of the United States sounds like overthrowing the government. At least, that's the case if you believe in a government of laws. I agree with you that it wasn't an attempt to suspend democracy. It was an attempt to eliminate it. Here's a link to the Jan 6 rioters chanting Hang Mike Pence. Their chanting starts at 1:16. The video concludes with the gallows that these rioters constructed for Mike Pence outside the Capitol. https://www.c-span.org/clip/january-6-hearings/user-clip-january-6th-2021-riots-hang-mike-pence/5020172 At one point you'll hear 'Bring out Mike Pence". You think that was in order to give him a big hug?
  8. Do you understand what it signifies that she wasn't even indicted, much less convicted?
  9. Typical of a right winger to come up with an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory.

  11. Why do you think US treasuries would be a good hedge? Trump's picks would almost certainly adopt a highly inflationary policy. The value of those bonds would plummet.
  12. This is the work of another America basheer https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Mark_Twain's_American_Philippines_Flag_Proposal.png This America hater was so cowardly that he had to hide behind a pen name: Mark Twain.
  13. US prosecutors fail three times to secure indictment in FBI assault case Federal prosecutors failed three times to persuade a grand jury to indict a woman accused of assaulting an FBI agent during an immigration operation in Washington, D.C., last month, a highly unusual failure as President Donald Trump’s administration seeks to aggressively charge street crime in the nation's capital. Three different federal grand juries declined to indict Sydney Reid for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, prosecutors disclosed in a court filing late on Monday. Prosecutors then downgraded the offense to a misdemeanor. https://archive.ph/L1bnp They claimed that an FBI agent had scraped the back of her hand during the scuffle. Perhaps someone can confirm that it caused this agent great pain every time she tries to give someone the finger. Definitely an offense worthy of a felony conviction which could have resulted in an 8 year sentence.
  14. I think you may have acquired a stalker.
  15. And if the sandwich contained fried chicken, it would be batter-y.
  16. You should share with the authorities the evidence you clearly possess about the identity of those who performed this heinous act. And why did you put Far left thugs in quotation marks? Where exactly does that phrase appear in the article?
  17. Actually. your explanation of "cut the mustard" is 180 degrees wrong. If someone doesn't cut the mustard, that means that they have fallen short.
  18. Yes you did use the Mona Lisa as an example. And a very inapt one. If someone buys a work of art and wants to burn it, that's their right. Of course, a very tiny percentage of works of art are very valuable and to burn them would be a crime against property. Still, if the Pope wanted to, I guess he could have a blow torch applied to the pornography that graces the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. And why not burn the Koran or the Bible? Are you suggesting that there should be laws against that, too?
  19. Prosecutors fail to indict sandwich thrower in Trump’s Washington public safety operation Federal prosecutors have failed to obtain a felony indictment against a man who was seen on camera hurling a sandwich at a federal law enforcement official in the nation’s capital, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. Sean Charles Dunn was arrested on an assault charge after he threw a sub-style sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection agent. A video of the incident went viral, and shortly after he was fired from the Justice Department, where he worked as an international affairs specialist in the department’s criminal division. https://fox59.com/news/politics/ap-politics/ap-prosecutors-fail-to-indict-sandwich-thrower-in-trumps-washington-public-safety-operation/ And this despite the fact that the sandwich could have contained dangerously high levels of sodium.
  20. It's a good thing you didn't guess that. Because if you did, you'd be wrong.
  21. "Trump was right again...." You mean he's been right before?
  22. And what the f### does that have to do with cutting funding to the bridge?
  23. National Guard members activated for DC federal takeover seen picking-up trash It's part of a "beautification and restoration mission," according to the military office overseeing the soldiers and airman activated to help respond and deter crime as part of the federal government "D.C. Takeover." An official confirmed to FOX 5 DC that 110 National Guard members were picking up trash Tuesday at Lafayette Square, the National Mall, and the Tidal Basin. "We are committed to keeping D.C. safe and beautiful," said the official. https://www.fox5dc.com/news/national-guard-members-activated-dc-federal-takeover-seen-picking-up-trash Washington D.C. came this close to being drowned in a sea of litter. Thanks to President Trump and the heroic work of the American military, America's capital city has been saved. But our soldiers can't afford to turn their backs on this menace. It's a good thing that our soldiers are now armed. It may be just a stray candy bar wrapper today, but tomorrow it could be a flood of half eaten french fries, fried in toxic seed oil.
  24. The documents were all returned to him after Jan 20, 2025. Wow! There's a surprise. As for Jack Smith, how many times are you MAGA supporters going to predict convictions for Trump investigators and various other parties Trump dislikes before you give up? How's your batting average so far? Biden's lawyers informed the government that Biden had classified documents in his possession. He didn't lie about it. He didn't claim he had verbally declassified them. And Trump was legally permitted to retain classified material? Before his second term? On what basis? It's true that Kash Patel claimed that Trump had verbally declassified documents. But that was before he testified to a grand jury about the documents. Since then he has refused to discuss what he told the grand jury under oath. And as I pointed out, there is an audiotape of Trump telling folks that he had a classified document in his possession.
  25. Whether or not Bolton is guilty, there's a huge difference between his case and Trump's. For over a year, the National Archives tried to get Trump to return items he had illegally taken from the White House. He did return some. Then the National Archives got information that Trump was still holding on to classified documents. Which documents were found. There was also strong evidence that he had ordered his staff to hide classified documents. That would be obstruction of justice. And there is a audiotape of Trump admitting that he had in his possession classified documents.
