  1. Not only do I approve of the enormous expense and brutality of ICE agents, but I also believe that when someone is spotted shoplifting, a SWAT team should be called in to deal with it.
  2. But whatever crime an American commits isn't going to be illegal entry into the United States.
  3. If that's what gets done to an American citizen for whatever crime they've committed.
  4. Do the same thing that law enforcement does to native-born American criminals.
  5. Exxon's reply was "Oh no Mistuh President. Please doan throw us in dat Briuh Patch."
  6. Lots of unsubstantiated allegations and at this point what can safely be called a lie by you about there being 2 million more jobs held by native born Americans since it's been pointed out to you over and over again that it's just a statistical artefact.
  7. Federal Reserve Chair Powell says DOJ has subpoenaed central bank, threatens criminal indictment Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Sunday the Department of Justice has served the central bank with subpoenas and threatened it with a criminal indictment over his testimony about the Fed’s building renovations. The move represents a major escalation in President Donald Trump’s battle with the Fed, an independent agency he has repeatedly attacked for not cutting its key interest rate as quickly as Trump prefers. In a video statement, Powell said the threat of criminal charges are “pretexts” to undermine the Fed’s independence when it comes to setting interest rates. https://archive.ph/Z0QFp#selection-349.13-371.156
  8. What this actually demonstrates is that you don't have a clue about statistics. Apparently you have some kind of mental allergy to the word "survey".
  9. It's what happens during and after the midterms that counts. In an interview with the New York times, Trump expressed regret that he hadn't impounded voting machines after the 2020 election.
  10. This comment demonstrates how debased MAGA has become. And how fascistic. It also ignores the fact that there is no mechanism for any takeover of Greenland to legally belong to the United States. I don't think even the Supreme Court, as compliant as it has become, would sanction this.
  11. How exactly will he manage that if there is no Constitutional route to do so?
  12. Trump’s Greenland Grab Ignores One Crucial Detail: He Doesn’t Have the Authority The president of the United States is the chief executive in a government of divided powers. The president is not the sovereign, and he has no authority to confer American sovereignty on foreign territory. Moreover, as we discussed in the context of the Trump plan to take a 25 percent cut of the profits on Nvidia’s microchip exports and the equity shares he is taking in private corporations — and as I imagine we’ll be discussing presently on the latest announced scheme to seize and sell Venezuelan oil (see our editorial) — the executive branch has no constitutional authority to raise revenue or buy property in the absence of a clear delegation of authority by Congress. https://archive.ph/tFxWT#selection-827.0-839.152 As the author notes, when Thomas Jefferson was offered what became the Louisiana Purchase, he agonized over whether the Constitution allowed the United States to acquire any territory. He decided that it did but only if ratified by a treaty. It would not even have occurred to him that the President alone by fiat could acquire territory for the United States whether by conquest or purchase.
  13. US citizens in Venezuela advised to leave ‘immediately,’ beware of militias The federal government is urging any U.S. citizens in Venezuela to leave “immediately” and to beware of armed militias as they make their exit. The security alert was posted online by the U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs, comes one week after U.S. forces snatched Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from Caracas to face federal drug-related charges in New York. Venezuela has a Level 4 travel advisory, meaning, “Do Not Travel” there, because of “severe risks to Americans, including wrongful detention, torture in detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and poor health infrastructure,” officials said https://thehill.com/policy/international/5683352-venezuela-travel-advisory-security-alert/ If this is true, Donald Trump must be behind this. After all, he said he's now running the country.
  14. Apparently, you're a mind reader since I haven't found any indication of where Candide says the info comes from. And not only did you simply state it, you simplistically stated it. And he fact that you cite your personal employment experience as somehow a significant factor in assessing the reality of unemployment shows certain grandiose notions you have about yourself but nothing else.. And apparently you believe "survey" somehow signifies fakery. It's clear that you have only the faintest inkling about how the BLS collects it's information. For those willing to be educated, here's a link to a BLS page that offers concise and excellent insight into how the system works. How the Government Measures Unemployment https://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_htgm.htm#where
  15. I think it's inevitable that the Iranian regime will fall. It's extremely corrupt and they expended a huge amount of their funds on foreign military adventures.
  16. The BLS is now the lefties? Can you share with us the evidence that they are falsifying the numbers?
  17. As opposed to an anonymous member of aseannow.com offering as evidence the experience of an anonymous friend in Texas.
  18. The United States carried out major airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria on Saturday, following up on even larger retaliatory attacks last month to avenge the deaths of two U.S. Army soldiers and a U.S. civilian interpreter killed in a terrorist attack in the country. About 20 Air Force attack planes, including F-15Es, A-10s and AC-130J gunships, as well as MQ-9 Reaper drones and Jordanian F-16 fighter jets fired more than 90 bombs and missiles toward at least 35 targets on Saturday, according to Capt. Timothy Hawkins, a spokesman for the military’s Central Command... “The strikes today targeted ISIS throughout Syria as part of our ongoing commitment to root out Islamic terrorism against our warfighters, prevent future attacks, and protect American and partner forces in the region,” Central Command said in a statement. https://archive.ph/TFZTr#selection-679.0-695.255 At what point can America First be pronounced as well and truly dead?
  19. Wishful thinking much?
  20. False. From Gemini AI: Nearly every state in the U.S. has a specific criminal statute dedicated to deaths caused by motor vehicles. While the terminology varies, 47 out of 50 states have a law specifically titled "Vehicular Homicide," "Vehicular Manslaughter," or a direct equivalent. The states that do not have a standalone "vehicular" statute—Alaska, Arizona, and Montana—instead prosecute these deaths under their general homicide laws, such as Manslaughter or Criminally Negligent Homicide.
  21. I think you're confusing their feelings about Trump with their feelings about the USA. Contrary to popular right wing beliefs, Trump is not America and America is not Trump.
  22. Given the demonstrably aggressive nature of Putin's Russia and the fact that despite Trump's bizarre hostility to them, they actually are allies to the US, I would be opposed. What levels of troops belong there, I don't know.
  23. Actually first past the post is a terrible system. In the UK, parliamentary majorities are often won by parties that garnered less than 40% of the popular vote. What would be better is a popular vote system based on ranked voting.
  24. Not even the majority of Americans who voted in 2024 voted for Trump. He won a plurality.
  25. But not the ones where dictators or despots rule? Sounds like you have got it a** backwards
